It's not easy, you need to recompile framework-res.apk. But you can use UOT Kitchen, it's online tool to change icons in framework-res.apk: http://uot.dakra.lt/kitchen/

I want to change the notifications drawer handle image. I want to increase the height of the image ! I tried changing the drawable after but the compiled version does not work ! Please help ! Thanks a lot !
i'm afraid you cant change the height, but look in xml files in framework, you might find something there, you can change transparency, color and add text to it via UOT kitchen
Thanks ! I've done that already ! Actually,I wanted to make something like the Honeycream theme for cyanogen ! How can I possibly achieve that ?
Also UOT kitchen gives error ! I've tried to use it !
UOT kitchen works for me check this- http://db.tt/UsHMjvnK
Used stock 2.3.4 framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk right ? This doesn't work for me !
Also can't there be any way to change notifications bar handle ? Then how has it been done in the Honeycream theme ?
yes, are you using custom rom?

No ! Stock 2.3.4 !
then try modifying through UOT kitchen and replace the handle image in flashable zip

You can use an existing mod (here) and replace the icons in SystemUI.apk/res/drawable-xhdpi.

Hi
Thanks for the advice, I have managed to decompile, edit & recompile a modded apk. There is one problem though, The battery icon seems to default back to the previous icon & returns when i reboot?. I believe there is some sort of fix for this when running ICS???
Hello,
I want to create a rom and in it I want to change the status bar only on the homescreen to 100% transparent.
I have seen this thread but on my SystemUI.apk there isn't this file: /SystemUI/res/layout/tw_super_status_bar.xml.
Btw: I'm using a 4.2 Leak-based Rom.
so do you know how to decompile apks?

If you know about how to compile and recompile any apk then it's an easy wirk for you. Or you can learn these from xda alot of guide available about compiling/decompiling of apks.
These battery icon, signal, wifi icon are in systemui.apk and replace them from according to your choices.

if i am right, you could modify those icons, by decompiling the framework-res.apk and/or the systemUI.apk, and using new drawable sources.. if you are familiar with the structure of an android application! .. shouldn't be to hard to do.
for decompiling:
http://modstorm.co/how-to-decompile-android-app-with-apktool/
systemUI.apk can be found at /system/app
framework-res.apk can be found at /system/framework
good modding
thank you
