Got my GS3 a few hours ago, but I have noticed something, on the notification bar all I get is a pentagon with a - inside it (don't worry I have a pic)
I was wondering how I can get rid of this, its stopping my notifications showing on the notification bar and is annoying me.
Up to now this is the only problem with the phone, any help will get a thanks.
Are you sure that notifications are turned on? If you scroll through the toggles in the slide-down part of the notification bar, you should see a toggle labeled "Notification". Make sure its icon is lit up green, like here:
Turn on your notifications, pull down top of the screen slide to the right and you will see it

Hi I have a Vibrant and every time I drag the notification bar down I slide it to the side a bit, there is a toggle that Sanding added from you touchwiz that every time you slide the notification bar it changes the brightness, any way to remove this? I don't like it....

I don't think there is. You would just have to leave the auto brightness on.

Yeah that's what I have been doing and it is alright bit really they have to add an option to take these toggles off, I sometimes turn WiFi off...

Thats wierd I dont see any notifications besides your alarm and the bar to the left that says u have more notifications....why dont u drop down the top bar and see what they are. once u clear those notifications, the bar to the left will disapear...unless u have a crap load of stuff showing on the top bar....
Enable notifications from quick panel, 6th option if you scroll to right

And they don't show up in the notification bar either.

Maybe it's the Notifications option that is off, pull down the notification screen, move the toggle buttons to the left and press on 'Notifications'. That should do the trick.
You were right. Dann, I have never used that toggle so I didn't know that it exists. you spared me a new install. thx

Hey,
Anyone know what this icon in the notification bar means? Popped up on mine and I'm stumped as to what it means!

maybe it some kind of spamming from an app u installed ?!? just maybe spam (like my message here) :silly:
You have turned off your notifications, pull down notification bar, scroll along the toggles, re-enable.

This is my first phone with full JB and the notification shade improvements. While I really like the added info it seems only the top most notification gets expanded. Is this a Sense thing?? I was under the impression you could expand any notification if it has embedded info. This hurts the worst when you have the persistent wifi notification hogging the top spot.
I think it is expanded if there is only one or 2 notifications, but you can expand them by either pinching on a notification or pulling down with 2 fingers.

Well SMH that's what I was missing. I was trying to pull down with one finger and it was doing nothing. 2 finger worked great. Thanks for that.
