NDS4Droid emulator - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, has anyone tried the NDS4Droid emulator or Tiger NDS yet? I wonder if the S3 finally has enough power for smooth gameplay...

The problem isn't about the power of the phone but about the emulators not being optimized.

has anyone tried it?

it was started by Tiger but then abandoned.. it never became workable, if you find out any info on it PM me, I'd love to hear

Got v3.2.8 of this game and it lags unbearably on the montreal and monte carlo track, it's fine everywhere else so far, anyone experiencing this or not?

Yes, same here
Have you tried any of the older versions, I'm guessing it must be some sort of bug, wonder if it's occurring on other phones

Homerun Battle 3D

Ive been using this game for awhile now on my G Tab and my Samsung Infuse with no issues. But last couple days only on my tab when i go to play online matchup its really slow and sluggish. But only online play. Its fine on my phone on wifi too, so any ideas? I tried closing the app, rebooting, disc and rec my wifi, stopping running apps that use a bit of memory, but no luck. Anyone else ever have any issues like this? Any info would be great. Thanks

gun bros game

OK so I'm playing gun bros on my Prime and its doing ALOT of freezing. But I can play it on my Galaxy Note and Galaxy Skyrocket it runs flawlessly.........
...... how is it that this beast of a quad core is struggling with a game that both my dual core phones seem to run effortlessly.
Anyone else experiencing this???

Just a stupid question but are you running in performance mode? I know the benchmark double from saver to performance....
no matter what mode I'm running it does this......it is what it is. But I'm really curious as to why both my dual core phones can run this game hickup free but this quad core has to freeze for the first 2 minutes of starting. It kind of defeats the purpose to me. I mean thise thing is fast in all other areas.......

This is beyond frustrating watching my son play on a single core Samsung infuse and the game running smoother than the Prime. Its just a game I know. But this should be able to handle it. I'm at a loss for words.

Uninstall (lame I know) ...reinstall
Modded by MBOK
i have tried that. when i went back to stock. it didnt help. im hoping that someone who has the game installed can verify or deny that this is happening on there device. i have overclocked. switched roms. changed scaling. this dumb stupid that this tablit cant handle this simple game but boast about that stupid glow ball game that utilizes all four cores.

Game runs fine for me. No freezing during gameplay.

Found the problem is when I'm using wifi. If I turn it off the game runs just fine. So that's a relief to me. Thanks for the info y'all. I knew it had to be something I was missing. Game runs fine now.
Case closed

i know you said case closed but....
why would wifi cause it to lag? do you have other things using wifi while your palying? the tablet SHOULD have the capibility to deal with wireless AND games at the same time....
Try using tasker, you can make a profile to turn off wifi, then open the game, and when gun bros is closed it can turn wifi back on again

Don't know if this will help but try turning on force gpu mode from developer settings in settings . I know this option has helped me with a lot of apps that haven't been made fully compatible with Tegra devices.

I also have freezing problems when I leave wifi on when I was playing the game Eternity Warriors, which is by the same publisher and has the same gameplay and features. My guess is that it's related to their facebook "friends" feature as the freezing gets especially bad when there are too many facebook friends that are playing the same game.
I actually cant even get the game to play. For some reason the moment i start it and it loads its been FC on me. It use to work with no problems but after the constant recent updates it no longer plays. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still no go. Any ideas?
Can anyone help figure out why I can't get this game to work.

poor emulator performance

Why is this phone having trouble with emulators? Gameboid and n64oid having frequent slow downs.
My nexus s was far better than this? What is the reasoning?
I've had no problems with both. On N64oid I've been playing a lot of Zelda with no problems. Are you sure power saving is not enabled?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Because you are probably using the US version.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Yeah I am on sprint. I just got a software update too maybe that has something to with it?
But still the evo had the old dual core and the nexus had a single core and they pladyed the games fine
US version is bad compared to int. People were saying "they're equal in term of perfs" my friend has the us version and n64 emulation freeze a lot while I have no problem on my gs3 int.
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3 ♥_♥
I have the international sgs3 and I play all of the emulators and I don't have any problems. I play a lot of gba and game gear and n64 and no lag.

Anyone here with the US version (Verizon, Sprint, or Tmobile)? I have the S4 dual core with 2 gb ram
STILL...my OLD Nexus S with a single core played both emulators without a hitch

T-Mobile here running AOKP and faux kernel. No slowdowns in any emulator.
So are you guys telling me that touchwiz is soooo bad that it is causing the emulator to slowdown or is there a technical glitch in my phone? I really wanted to play n64 games on this big screen phone:silly:

Well when I was running stock touchwiz I would get slow downs on gameboid, snesoid, and n64oid, so yea touchwiz is a a big memory hog like sense but not as ugly.

There's NOTHING like the classics That's why
Because a game like Zelda can never be found on the play store or the pure nostalgia of Mario 64 cant be rejuvenated from app games. Anyways, is my only option is to root and get rid of touchwiz?
O btw, nintendo 64 was 64 bit : p

I had frequent slow-downs on n64oid as well when on stock and i have an int' phone. I didn't try it on asop or cm9 yet but lets put it like this, i did not have these same slow downs on my htc desire z/g2. Touchwiz is the culprit no doubt.

No problems with gameboid, gbcoid, n64oid, scummvm, adosbox, snesoid, gensoid, gearoid, md.emu, snes9x ex, snesdroid or FPse
I've got the international S3
I'm having the same problem with the Verizon version of the galaxy s3. I have found that if you disable the sound than it works perfectly with no lagging.
Ya I figured out I t works good without sound but Zelda has some pretty epic soundtrack
How hard is the root for this phone? Evo 3d was a nightmare!

I have duck hunt which was pulled from the market long ago. If u want it pm me, it's against rules to post it. It'll cost u hitting the thanks button on this reply, it's worth it lol
I use nes-emu it came with 100 roms all marios and zeldas. I wrote down the mac address of my Wii mote by searching for it with Bluetooth on CM7 then synced it up with the Wii mote app. Configured the button map to play the roms on my droid with a Wii mote. Let me know if you need help with this.

Dsoid but it heats up your phone like a microwave. It also is quite slow. You need a high end phone (not even mine, more like an S3 or a Nexus S) to play it properly.

nds4droid is better. Also, it doesn't even run all that well on higher end devices either, still too soon for that yet.

I haven't gotten around to trying any of these yet, but I was fairly pleased to find out that there exists Nintendo DS emulators. It sounds like there's lots of room for improvement though, and I can't wait for it to get better.
