Will there come an root exploit for XPS - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi Guys, I know that its possible to root the phone without unlocking the bootloader, but the method seams a bite complicated.
Does anybody knows if there is one exploit out now or some dev is working on it?
Best regards

What do you mean by complicated? you can't follow some simple steps?

He maybe meant prerooted flashable stock firmware...

I think I can follow some simple steps, but thanks for the answer. . .
I just read about the method where I should downgrade to GB and then flash ICS a couple of times. Some people just seams to have some problems with it.
I just remember that the 2011 line, had an root exploit and that was easy

I think it will take a while before we have a One Button Method.
I only read a couple of pages in the root thread and it seemed to me like it worked for all, for me it did anyways...

Help with rooting

Hello and sorry if this has been already asked. I just got my new Xperia Ray and I want to root it, but I can't. I have locked bootloader, android version 2.3.4 and firmware 4.0.2.A.0.62. Tell me exactly what to do cause I am really newbie. Send me links with tutorials to follow if needed.
P.S.: Moderators move it to right.section if it isn't right now. As I said I new here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1567125
here for .62
as for unlocking bootloader , use the testpoint method , dont use the official SE method because if you use that method, your phone will brick when you apply the update from them.
With test point, you can get the official sony's ICS update.

I would just google "how to root xperia ray." Seriously thats how I rooted my droid x. Thats actually how most network problems get fixed at work.
Cheers

I did googled, but it seems locked bootloader is the problem. And I can't unlock with testpoints. Any way to root with locked bootloader? Also I managed to get to 4.0.2.A.0.42.

i suggest you refer hansip's thread

if you got any problems with the testpoint, i think you have to try harder as i also had failed so many time doing that...maybe you have to manually install the driver..
I downgrade to .42 with flashtool and rooted with zerg tool. Then installed busybody and cwm with se tweak. All with locked bootloader!

So ROOT for .21 and Unlocked is not going to happen?
Since you're not able to back out of unlocking the bootloader, then I assume that Root, for the .21 upgrade flash, is not going to happen?
Here's the link where Wolf has shown how to regain root, however, it looks like your out of luck if you have unlocked.

Hi,
I need some help. I just upgraded my firmware to 6.0.a.3.75 using the Update Service and I would like to root my phone.
So I need to follow this tutorial to unlock the bootloader:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1527159
Then I use FlashTool with the firmware LT26_6.0.A.3.76_TW or LT26I_6.0.A.3.75_CE1
and then I use fastboot, with the file KA_Xperia_S_prerooted_76TW or KA_Xperia_S_prerooted_75CE from this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1685672
That is correct?
How do I know which region of my current firmware?
And what this means: "Also this is ONLY RECOVERY for now! You cannot boot the actual system with it!"
What is the difference between recovery and the actual system?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1527133
thanks and Sorry for English

Keep root after ota ics

I was wondering if anyone knows if i can keep root after taking the ics ota. Ive tried root keeper but when i update my phone just reboots like normal? Can someone help or at least shed some light on how to even update using the ota without root? Thanks!
Sent from my PG86100 using xda app-developers app
The usual wisdom is to never take ota if you are rooted. Why not just flash a stock, rooted Rom?
Read, Search, Read again, ... Then Ask with Tapatalk 2
I could but thats not what i was asking...
Sent from my PG86100 using xda app-developers app
The reason I suggested that is because you will lose root if you take the ota and will have to unlock using HTC dev, then flash a custom recovery, then install super user again. My suggestion is easier.

Lapdock HDMI mirror on unlockable Atrix?

hi ^^
is there a way to perform a HDMI mirror with a lapdock but on a Atrix with an unlockable bootloader (means no other ROMs..)
I wouldn't mind if I had to disable webtop (but don't want to delete it).
I'd like to play games, watch movies etc. on it but in webtop the Atrix is too slow
Edit: Bootloder is LOCKED , no custom ROMs for me

Try Cynogenmod stable Rom its got mirroring option enable it and you can see your phone through LCD TV I do the same for games.

As I already wrote, I have an unlockable bootloader : can't flash custon ROMs..

you mean you have an LOCKED bootloader, an unlocked bootloader would allow you to flash a custom rom.
Anyway, there's a post somwhere in the forums which discuss how to enable hdmi..mirroring on any rom... im on my..phone so i can't find it right now

yes, sorry if I didn´t write it right, my bootloader is LOCKED and I can´t unlock it (newer Atrix)
it would be nice if someone could post that thread
edit: if you mean this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1472382 then I think it won´t work because it´s for Wet Dream and DarkSide
actually, i was reffering to the parent thread, this one

You can try unzipping the .zip and copying the files manually whilst remembering to back up any replaced files. I can't offer any promises though as I haven't taken a look at any of the files. Plus, as stated in the thread, instabilities can happen when flashing the zip so make sure you can recover any changes you make. Not having cmw is a *****...
