Lapdock HDMI mirror on unlockable Atrix? - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi ^^
is there a way to perform a HDMI mirror with a lapdock but on a Atrix with an unlockable bootloader (means no other ROMs..)
I wouldn't mind if I had to disable webtop (but don't want to delete it).
I'd like to play games, watch movies etc. on it but in webtop the Atrix is too slow
Edit: Bootloder is LOCKED , no custom ROMs for me

Try Cynogenmod stable Rom its got mirroring option enable it and you can see your phone through LCD TV I do the same for games.

As I already wrote, I have an unlockable bootloader : can't flash custon ROMs..

you mean you have an LOCKED bootloader, an unlocked bootloader would allow you to flash a custom rom.
Anyway, there's a post somwhere in the forums which discuss how to enable hdmi..mirroring on any rom... im on my..phone so i can't find it right now

yes, sorry if I didn´t write it right, my bootloader is LOCKED and I can´t unlock it (newer Atrix)
it would be nice if someone could post that thread
edit: if you mean this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1472382 then I think it won´t work because it´s for Wet Dream and DarkSide

actually, i was reffering to the parent thread, this one

You can try unzipping the .zip and copying the files manually whilst remembering to back up any replaced files. I can't offer any promises though as I haven't taken a look at any of the files. Plus, as stated in the thread, instabilities can happen when flashing the zip so make sure you can recover any changes you make. Not having cmw is a *****...

[Q] Rooting att atrix 4G 2.3.6

my friend wants me to root his atrix 4g which is running android version 2.3.6 stock. And his phone has never been rooted and the bootloader is still locked. I know that I would have to unlock the bootloader. But how would I go about rooting it after I've unlocked bootloader? please someone help
Ps. Already have moto drivers installed because I have a moto xoom

If you are gonna unlock the bootloader, then you would probably be looking to load a custom ROM. That's really the only reason for unlocking the BL.
After your BL is unlocked, many custom ROMs (like CM7) come with root privileges already...

Yes im planning to flash a custom rom. So I could just unlock the bootloader, flash a custom recovery, and then flash a custom rom that is pre-rooted?
Because that's what I did when I rooted my xoom.

i just got a warranty replacement, and it had 2.3.6 on it.
i had to do alot of research. they have a rooting guide via adb on the atrixforum website
and the automatic bootloader unlock in the atrix development thread in xda works.
due note that alot of the NEW atrix's with 2.3.6 dont have the ability to flash sbf, which means the bootloader is unable to be unlocked. Mine worked, so i might have just been lucky

I wonder why Motorola would do such a thing unless they had some sort of contract agreement with the carriers?
All I know is when the BL code leaked, Motorola scrambled insanely fast to try and cover that up, but it was too late. Truth be told, if the BL code never got leaked I would have sold my phone a long time ago. IDK, for me personally I'm probably gonna make it a personal requirement for all my future phones to have BL unlocked before purchasing...

[Q] How install cm9 beta3 rom and unlock hboot?

I want install this CM 9 rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1562595) on my htc legend, but are required an unlocked HBOOT or s-off.
Here my doubts begin. Infact my legend has CM 7.2 stable and so root. My question is,can i unlock HBOOT with method on htc devs site if i have already root and CM 7.2 on my device?
If this is not possible, I should reinstall the ROM with official froyo, how?
is to reject totally the possibility to install this rom with rom manager?
Thanks, and sorry for my bad english.
You don't need unlock your hboot. Neither to be s-off.
I have that rom being s-on, and I have no problem about that.
Follow the instructions in that thread, flash it, and enjoy it

Yes you can flash zeubea's ICS zip file with rom manager, or in your case reboot to recovery & fakeflash (update.zip) and flash away :fingers-crossed:

The ROM is in beta stage so yes there are some bugs, which are all listed on the main page, but it is quite stable and smooth enough to be used as a daily driver.
I have installed the rom!
one last question ... wifi can be turned off? And ... GPS does not work, what can I do?

[Q] Cyanogenmod Bootloader Locked

I have a question, I have a xperia S (lt26i), and I have allowed bootloader status "no", I have the generic 4.0.4 android world, but hey seen you can install the root cwm and also do not need the boot loader unlocked, having locked bootloader could install cyanogenmod 9?? or any way to get it having locked bootloader without having to flash the kernel?
If this was in the right section you would get your answer a lot faster as a lot of people now ignore question threads in the GENERAL section.
Sent from my ST25i using xda app-developers app
Nope you need an unlock boootloader to boot CM rom
Sent from my LT22i using Tapatalk 2
Not yet would be the right answer as some people are working on trying to get custom kernel onto a locked bootloader as this is the thing stopping users with locked bootloaders have cm ://

I read somewhere that putting a generic rom 4.0.4 in specific and having locked bootloader cwm installed, you could install CM9, 9 not 10, because the kernel was compatible with CM9 and did not need to flash another kernel. And would have locked bootloader CM9 with and without flash kernel.
Its possible. You have to wait. check this thread, you can understand.

[Solved] How come I could flash a kernel despite a locked bootloader?

I have a Sola with a locked bootloader that can not be unlocked. Still, I could flash a kernel using flashtool. How come?
Now, I'm kind of new to this whole flashing stuff thing, but according to my brief research, I was under the impression that you can't flash ROMs or kernels if your bootloader isn't unlocked. When I found out about this, I was like "aww", and kept using the sluggish stock ICS ROM.
Now, when I updated to a new firmware via Companion, I lost root, and I found a tutorial "for Solas with locked bootloader" that told me how to get it back, but it included flashing kernels via flashtool. I was skeptical, but went ahead and succeeded, root was back <3 so I indeed could flash a kernel onto the phone despite a locked bootloader. How in the world was that possible? Am I missing something? I can flash a kernel but not ROMs? Or can I safely flash a whole CM onto my phone now?
Thaaanks!
U need a kernel.ftf to flash it via flashtool

A locked bootloader can be flashed. The only difference is that you need a signed kernel, one with Sony's signature in order for the bootloader to load the kernel and boot.
You can flash any older stock kernel. Including the ones with known root exploits, and flash the new one after. You can't flash CUSTOM kernels.

You can flash custom kernel on locked bootloader,I tested.

how?
You may flash it but you'll soft brick because the loader won't load an unsigned kernel. You'll have to flash a stock one to boot again.

It might be possible, but from what i've seen thats a kernel related issue. To flash a new kernel, you need to unlock.
May i ask why you don't want to unlock?
Sent from my DROIDX using xda app-developers app
Well if its rooted it should be able to do no frills and adjust cpu. Thats really all i want to do

Yes, but you can't overclock the stock kernel. just underclock it
Then what is the deal with people that rooted and not unlocked and flash recovery and roms from rom manager?

Its an exploited weakness in the system that rom manager uses. Its like the A2, and in my side job device, the DX, bootstrap can be used. I'm not sure if there's an official bootstrap for the 4G though. But like i said, it gets into the system and exploits a weakness and installs a new recovery. You then reboot into recovery from rom manager to install a custom rom

Ty what i meant is cant i just root from one click root and then install CWM from Rom manager.without unlocking bootloader?

I don't see why not. I've never done it like that with the 4G, but it should be possible
Sent from my DROIDX using xda app-developers app
That is impossible. Where did you see that?
Maybe you need to do more research.
The HD can so shouldnt this be able to? Also i think i could root this and no frills on this and set min in the 400`s and max 1.0 of course. Is this possible without BL
Don't compare. Atrix was/is an experiment from motorola. It has very unique things that atrix 2 and atrix hd don't have.
Edit: again, you can do whatever you want with stock kernel, except overclocking it.
