it tries to use odin; -) and it spins all smooth

You need the correct ROM for your device, go to Sammobile.com
you will see 2 Malaysia firmware pick the one for you and at the top of the page click flashguide and follow instuctions.

For future reference this is a development section, ie to post roms/kernels/reference etc. This type of topic in absolutely no way belongs here and should be posted in the general or Q&A section.

[Q] Galaxy S Kies update

Firstly i'd like to start off by apoligizing in advanced as i am sure i have posted in the wrong section.
I have a samsung galaxy s GT-I9000;
Currently running:
2.3.3
Baseband - I9000SRJV1
Kernel - 2.6.35.7-19000XWJVN-CL366455
Build number - GINGERBREAD.XWJVN
Basically when trying to update in Kies i get the this version cannot be updated message (as i have found all over these forums).
I want to restore back to an official Kies version so that I can update officially.
I do apoligize if there is already another thread which would solve my problem but on my searching I couldn't find one.
What would be the best way to get to an official Kies release (which i can update in kies at a later time).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Just in case you need to know; It is an Australian phone.

[Q] galaxy s2 update ics problems

hey guys i updated my galaxy s2 today to ics using this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
but after its in stalled my phone keeps turning off after a minute or so, is there a way of getting back to the orignal firmware (so kies will recognise it again) or how to get ics working properly??
re-install stock ics through odin that will sort it out had same issue this morning. i downloaded the 1 package file from the galaxy s2 general forum.
All you have to do is tick then click on the tab PDA, find the rom in your pc downloads folder and click start works a charm now
Tapped from a modded GS2

[Q] Need some assistance, I need to restore my GT-I9100 to stock via Odin

I was trying to install SlimKat on it and I received a Status 7 error. So I searched for Status 7 error CWM and results came up with that I needed to update CMW. I tried doing that, and something went wrong. It's now got a warning saying to restore in Kies. I tried doing that too. But, since this is an Australian model (Vodafone), I was unable to in Kies.
Is there anyway possible to restore to stock Android (whatever version) via Odin? With like PHONE, PDA, etc. sections?
Please help because I'm not very good with Android phones.
You missed the stickied thread near the top of Q&A titled 'Flash stock firmware'. Get stock rom for country/carrier from Samfirmware, flash it using instructions in that thread. Problems with Odin/getting the flash done ? Hopper8's 'Odin troubleshooting' thread stickied in General has all the info you need in order to get a successful flash.
Edit - The stock roms @ Samfirmware are one part, you don't need a rom that has the components split into separate files.

Thanks for your help.
I worked out how to do it (before reading your comment) and I used Odin to "apply" CWM and I created a backup of the system files and everything, on my SD Card, so I restored back to that.
Important note: Always back up!
Thank you!

will S3 be able to connect to pc - kies after downgrade from 4.3 to 4.1.2?

Hi, I have updated my S3 to 4.3 and now it can't connect to KIES in order to upload the backup i did.
If you have any solution for that it would be great.
If not, will after downgrading to 4.1.2 as it shows in the forums, the S3 will be able to connect to KIES??
Thanks

Have a good day !
Search this forum for connection problems with Odin. It is either something easy, like a usb driver problem or your device is bricked, with a lot of possibilities in between -there is no single solution.
