Alright, so I had to get a warranty replacement because pixels started going dead on my screen. Just tried to unlock the new Rezound and it failed. 22 times. I redid the process 4 times to no success. Some research pointed me in the direction of a defective board? Any ideas?

Are you referring to boot loader unlock or the S-off method? Just to be clear.
Sorry, should have clarified lol. The bootloader. I ran the RUU and tried loading the P98IMG of the 2.3.4 update. They installed just fine, but still can't see the token. So, downloading the ICS RUU and hoping that'll do the trick.
Use hasoon2000's tool to unlock much easier.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think his tool does the exact same thing you do, just by GUI instead of you doing the commands yourself lol.

Yep much easier, or in my case I'm just lazy haha. But yeah you still have to enter the token on htc dev site

lol that's what I figured. The actual process is overly simple and I'd rather do things by ADB. I'm putting in the command correctly, I'm in fastboot, running CMD as admin...just won't take. I called HTC and they said they wouldn't help me because it can void my warranty -_- It's all good, though. I need to send this phone back. The screen isn't in all the way and constantly has to be pushed back down.
Well, looks like I can't unlock it at all. Ffffffuuuuuuuuuu

Hey everyone!
So my rezound has a cracked screen, and I need to take it to verizon. Heres where my problem is.
I used the htc dev tools to unlock the phone and the zerg root rush method to root. I DID NOT install a custom rom. After the screen cracked, i followed nghtmr3's thread on how to UNROOT the rezound. I successfully got it to S-On, but when i attempted to install the stock rom, I could not do it. I tried to install the OTA update, but it came to the common downloading screen, but then an error pops up, and it wont complete the update.
So I tried to flash rom manager, reboot, and run recovery, but i go back to the same download and error screen.
I really just need to get superuser off so i can take it in without worries.
If anyone can help, I would appreciate it, because i have been going at it for days now.
Thanks,
James
p.s. The attached picture is the updating screen. I come to this screen, but about 1/4 the way in, it comes up with a red "!" and sits there untill i battery pull.
p.s.s. I understand that i have already voided the in-house verizon warranty by having a cracked screen. And i do have the asurion insurance, but i dont want to send it to them with SU still installed, as i have heard that they will send it back.
Smash it up more and take it in.... But u will need insurance

Did you relock the bootloader and then run the newest RUU?

Well if you have a cracked screen youve already voided your warranty. So you might as well just call asurion and tell them you have a cracked screen.

I've return rooted phones to asurion. It really doesn't matter, you screen is broken its not like its a warranty issue its an insurance issue. If your that worried just tell asurion you lost the phone and pay your deductible if your so worried about sending it in.

Really? i figured that they would do a thorough check to make sure it wasnt rooted so they dont have to pay for a new one. But your right, if worse comes to worst then i will just say we lost it. Thanks

Rooting your phone does not automatically void the warranty. It MAY void the warranty. A cracked screen shouldn't be a problem.

Or stick it in the microwave.
I got a droid dna recently and I was thinking about rooting. The only thing that is holding me back is whether despite the lack of s-off, is it worth voiding warranty. Anyhow, I was wondering whether it is possible to bring the dna completely back to stock after rooting it just in case something goes wrong (Im planning on using the all in one tool kit for the root)
I believe it will still say relocked as opposed to locked.
And there's a toolkit for jcases method?

So basically if i were to send this thing in for warranty, there is a high probability they wont notice the "relock"? Hmmm i might root it then

They don't check. They make sure it doesn't have any extensive damage then completely reflash the phone.

The change isn't permanent as far as I know. You should be able to re-lock it with fastboot oem lock.
Went and replaced my DNA tonight at Best Buy to try and get one without ota, which i did. Went thru the whole process all the way up to submit my token identifier and then htcdev times out. What can i do?

I am very new to this, but my Droid DNA, that i just got, is giving me troubles with unlocking the bootloader. I am used to samsungs, and HTC's are confusing to me... I just rooted my uncles HTC One S, and that was pretty simple, but this is still mind boggling to me. If you know how to fix this, please PM me. I have tried the SuperCID app, and it doesnt change my MEID, and HTCDev wont work until I unlock the Verizon Bootloader. I've tried HTCDev, but i keep getting the error code 160, MID Not Allowed. Please help me. thank you for any advice you may have.

If you just bought the phone and it has the newest update, you can't unlock or root. There is no method for the new firmware.
smh... doesn't anybody read anymore? I thought it was normal to gather information before diving in to Unlock bootloaders... Guess not.
Sorry to be so harsh but there are a ton of threads here that would have let you know this is not possible

No. SuperCID broke with the 2.04 update. There is no way to downgrade. There is no current alternative.

You can also skip the htc process and just soff and use revone to unlock boot loader. head over to htc international and follow vomer's guide to soff if you have never done it. great guide. make sure your hboot is less than 1.54. its under the "one android development" may be a page back, but it is a wonderful guide.

I had that issue as well, when your copying the token ID you need to make sure you only highlight the characters exactly. I was highlighting just past the last character of the token, like an extra empty space and it gave me problems.
