The issue arises if you have a customs Kernel as in T-mobile version for example
I am on Adama003 Kernel and it is overclocked to 1.8 G and if you use both set cpu and Sleeper it won't keep the lower values and it will kick up to 1.8 upon reboot even though you say set it at 1.5.

I have blazer Rom , sorry for the questions but I'm new at this root stuff so if I set my cpu to 1.8 ghz will that increase my download speed?

No it only increses your CPU clock speed...which has nothing to do with your data download speeds.

Okay so would you guys recommended having cpu sleeper and set cpu together ?

I tried asking this in the Megatron-thread but as usual, no answers...
I am a little worried about keeping my phone overclocked at all times, so I was thinking about downloading SetCPU and switching between 600 and 700 via that app. But my question is this: Megatron ROM overclocks the phone by default. If I download a 3rd-party app to overclock/underclock the phone, will this mess up the whole system?
Anyone? Would really appreciate help!
i've been using megatron & setcpu together for the past month.. no issues yet, so cant promise ma phone wont go up in flames i clock extra if needed
Ok, thanks!
My Experience: USing LOL rom with default OC gave me kernel panics ...so instead i disabled OC in ROm and wud then OC using SetCPu...ALso I dont know why but touch feels a lot more smoother on LOL rom with the lag fix than megatron....so i switched from megatron to LOL...Currently even with maxCPu 480Mhz and conservative profile..touch is very smooth on LOL

How do I disable the OC in Megatron? By adding the "minitron" file and then using SetCPU?
Hi all,
I'm a newbie in Android world. Successfully flashed my O1 to Megatron v1. Afterwhich I tried installing SetCPU to it and overclock to 806mhz & above. However, after overclocking with SetCPU, the whole phone's performance became more sluggish than the original Megatron 729mhz...
Someone please advise me on how to overcome this and make the phone speedier with high frequency.
Is there a way to edit some of Megatron's kernel to make it 806mhz on default even without using SetCPU?
Don't use set on boot feature, it will make ur phone get stock on bootloop...
So can someone tell me how to proceed with this? I want to be able to change between 600 and 700, when I please. Thanks

Got it! Tried last night without set on boot feature. Working fine with 806mhz and speedier than 729mhz. However my chipset refuses to go into higher frequency without freezing and rebooting... Is it due to my microsd card? I'm still using the original 2gb microsd card tt came together with the O1... Will changing to a class 6 or higher microsd card let me clock higher? or my chipset is just lemon at 806mhz?

FnH84: I downloaded SetCPU from XDA forum and can tweak the frequency between 600 & 700 by myself. Even can set profiles to govern the speed at different situations.

You are already pushing the CPU to its limit with that 806 MHz frequency. Do you even realize is 34% above the designed specs for this CPU? You're already lucky enough you got it stable at 806, and no SD card will ever make a difference, they're not related.
How come Samsung Galaxy Mini running on the same chipset offer 800Mhz as stock???
Man, I don't know! How come the same "Pentium IV" processor could come in speeds from 1.3 GHz to 3.8 GHz?
Can any of you actually believe that LG would underclock an 800 MHz CPU and sell it to us as a 600 MHz instead of letting it run at its best?
Galaxy Mini is obviously using a CPU designed to run at 800 MHz, even though it bears the same name. And that one can probably be overclocked to above 1 GHz.

Thanks for your reply. I was thinking bout the same as the other guy, that galaxy ace can run at 800mhz, and why not O1.
Hmm... Isn't there any other ways to push the frequency higher? Maybe supply more voltage to the core? I dont mind sacrificing batt life, I just wanna try ways to push it to the max~~
Hello, I keep getting random reboots on my HTC Legend. I don't think the problem is related to the rom because I tried many of them and still the same problem. I've read that it may be related to the radio version but I don't know which version should I upgrade to
ROM: CyanogenMod 7.1.0
Baseband Version: 47.26.35.04U_7.05.35.26L
Did u OC's the CPU? Maybe your frequencies are too high?
Try with a lower one.
Thanks for the reply, yes, i did try lower the Frequencies but still have the same problem

What frequencies are you using?
have you tried to change governor?
Currently using 787 max. and 400 min. and the governor is set onDemand

It could also depend on the Kernel installed, but for a 600 MHz processor, 787mhz seems definitely too high for me. My friend has the same CPU in his ZTE Blade and he cannot OC more than 650mhz (obviously also depends on hardware).
What I suggest, is to OC's just a little above the normal value 600mhz (ex. 633/650mhz), and increase little by little the clock to find out at which freq. your phone start to experience spontaneous reboot.
I would also try the "smartass" governor with a min freq between 19/176 mhz.
Let me know.

Some devices (with 600mhz processors) can be overclocked to 864mhz (e.g. HTC Aria; but is overall stable at 806mhz).

I am agree. My Hero can be overclocked up to 749mhz (525mhz default) , but at this OC suffer from spontanious reboot. The max freq. I can reach is 710mhz without problems.
This is why I said it depends on devices and hardware.
Probably 787mhz is too much for his phone.
after root... i have installed SetCpu, i have overclock my processor to 1.4ghz.. the question is, can i use this setting for daily use? is it will cause my processor hot or damage??
Every CPU is different, some can handle 1.4, some can 1.6 and some can't even 1.3GHz.
I've been using 1.4GHz max and 400GHz min, and I get about 4700 in Quadrant, and I reduced homebutton lag to minimum. Some can't see difference between 1.4 and 1.2 and some can (like me). Works just fine.

well overclocking or undervolting ur device is not recomended for daily usage as they r done only to do some benchmark tests

The higher the min frequency is the higher the chance something will go wrong.. Ie overheat, reboots

1.4 will be fine ;-)
I've overclocked all my previous androids & never had issue
OT: I was surprised that a stock 1.2Ghz ph can't go higher than 1.6!?
my moto defy is b/l locked 800Mhz @ stock & I run it @ 1.2Ghz w/o probs. 50% increase... SGS-II should be able to do 1.8Ghz on that math
I just installed the cpu-z to see the processor information and i notice that the maximum clok speed of s2 is 1.20 ghz but it only reach maximum upto 800mhz the clok speed not reach it maximum at 1200mhz why? What is the problem explain i am in worrie.

Have you set any limits for the same?
What ROM, kernel, governor is in use?

Try other govenor. When using performance it will lock on max speed (eats battery).

No i do not set any limit the rom is 4.1.2-I9100XXLSJ, kernal 3.0.31-462349 and i also over clock with tegrak overclock to 1.40ghz but after overclocking it shows same 800mhz don't no what the problem is plz can anybody solve it.
Powersaving mode limits your CPU to 800mhz.

I have just bought an used LG as second phone. It runs Cyanogenmod 12.1 Lollipop 5.1.1. How can I know if the phone has been overclocked? The ex-owner isn't an expert so I wouldn't trust to keep the phone overclocked as long as it is.

First install the setcpu or similar cpu overclocking app. Look for cpu clock frequency or match to your highest original cpu frequency. Means If your device support to 1.8ghz and it sets to 2.0ghz then its overclocked.

Thanks. Indeed that's what I thought to do..install one of those apps and check. If it is overclocked how do I remove the overclock? Would a hard reset be enough?

No. No need to hard reset. Just set to your device default max frequency.

Thanks again! But if I do perform a hard reset then I can be sure 100% that a possible overclock is removed ? Sorry for my fussiness but I really care about this phone which is the same like one I had years ago and then got lost..
