I´ve also got a message like that, in spanish of course, it pops up every hour. The size of the update is 124.6 mb. I´m on stock 2.3.4, rooted and using a GSM chip. Is this update safe? I guess is the 2.3.5 version with non-unlockablee bootloader?

It is the official 2.3.5 update.

Mine won't find the update. Sits at checking for update indefinitely.

It would be much appreciated if someone with the update could provide a dump of the system partition.

Could someone share the update? My phone doesn't seem to be able to find it
Sent from my MB855 using xda app-developers app

I downloaded and tried updating... but it didnt work out.
It says update status failed.

So, these are the improvements:
- More easily import contacts from SD card.
- Improved music playback, both streaming from Amazon Cloud or Internet Radio services and music saved to the
phone - minimizes occasional skips or -repeats
- Enhancements for WiFi hotspot in GSM/UMTS mode and adding new WiFi connections.
- Now supports 1080p HD video capture, and enhanced video settings for more responsive playback.
- Easier creating and accepting calendar meeting notices on the phone.
http://phandroid.com/2012/07/11/sprint-motorola-photon-4g-receives-ota-update/
I don't think it worths the permanent locked bootloader.

2.3.5 for Electrify/Photon, De-odexed included, Radio(Electrify only)

I am not responsible for the things you do to your phone.
I no longer have this phone. With that being said, I will still keep these links up. If for some reason they don't work, I WILL NOT be updating them. If you need them or wish to redistribute them, go for it and grab them while they are still here.
It was a nice phone while it lasted, but after 6 replacements I moved on to something better.
This DOES NOT unlock your bootloader, but will update to 2.3.5 on the already unlocked phones. Sorry to the folks that are locked with the 2.3.5 update. Hopefully something soon happens for you.
This is stock 2.3.5 WITH the updated kernel. Updated baseband as well, in a separate .zip of course.

Thanks to samcripp here at XDA and his Fruit Cake Maker, I have a CWM flashable .zip for you. This is stock 2.3.5 WITH the updated kernel. I still haven't figured out how to update the baseband though

Flashing this will revert your recovery to the stock recovery BUT will keep you unlocked
Re-install your custom recovery according to this guide-http://www.teamuscellular.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=105&t=1221
Also, I have noticed that after every boot it re-installs the stock recovery. To fix this, use a root file explorer(I use Root Explorer) and go into /system/etc and delete the file "install-recovery.sh"

I'm not saying this to troll, but this is a deal breaker for me, and I never thought for a minute that Sprint's only Tegra powered phone would be crippled over a trivial limitation.

I think if motorola would make it optional as well as add at least more than 2 points of multitouch this would help gaming. There are several games that can use more than 2 touch points.

It's definitely 2.3.6. Upgrades LTE radio, bootloader, jar files, and other small things like adding more bloat apps.
New icons, too, for the most part the same as the XT910's update, but it seems there's now a little Motocast symbol over Music, Gallery, and Files - or was that present in the last VZW update?

I would imagine so. I've been running stock for a few days with just temp unroot through voodoo. After the update I restored root and as far as titanium backup is concerned I'm rooted. Also Google play video wont let me rent videos on the phone which tells me root is restored as well. Sorry excuse me. I mean my friend did all this. I know nothing of soak tests. Ota coming soon!

I was informed today that Verizon is pushing out the new Ota already. If you haven't gotten it you will soon. 2 questions....
1. Do we have to Odin back to stock to receive the update?
2. Will there have to be a new process to root after we accept the ota?
Should this have gone under the Q and A?

I think this has already been discussed. The nee ota is nothing more than the search feature dumbing down and a new baseband+kernel. I believe you can root this with the current method. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

Why mess up your root? Just give it some time and the devs will probably have the update rooted and ready to flash with Odin !
Can anybody confirm that these will not auto-install?
On my HTC Incredible, I would just hit install later, but the popup would come back every 15 minutes.. very annoying!
Soon as the update comes out I will have a fully deodexed rooted zipaligned version available.

It's been pretty well established how to restore proper search functionality. The real question should be what do the kernel and radios do? Any improvements in reception or battery life? Any improvements in device performance? And most importantly, does this change anything regarding bootloader unlocking research and work-arounds?

Looks like a new update will be pushing out soon. Just a maintenance update with some fixes.
Info here: http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/0...-605-2-710rd-bringing-a-slew-of-improvements/
Anyone know what this means for us on custom roms?? Are we going to have to RUU back and take the update then go back to the Rom. I hope not. Hopefully most roms can just add the fixes. New radio though. Not sure about that.
I really like some of those improvements.
