Hi guys can u help me in getting an answer
What is the difference of odexed roms and deodexed roms ?
How can we deodex xperia neo v?
How can i check whtr my rom is odexed or deodexed?
All stock roms are odexed, while custom roms state whether it is deodexed or not on the development page.
Odex roms usually boot up faster, but boot quite slowly after clearing dalvik cache.
Pls search before asking, I can find a ton of answers on Google

Not really. Show me .odex files in stock Sony rom, except framework(which got odexed only on ICS, in GB it wasn't odexed)

even if you meant on ICS only, it's not entirely odexed rom, but just small part, (some of)framework files.

FB app behavior on ODEXED rom
Hey xda-ians...
I have been testing a hell lotta roms on my Neo V including odexed and deodexed....and have come to a conclusion that on odexed rom the FB app acts weirdly like no timeline, missing posts and news feed and moreover if i open FB on the stock browser it is same as in the app unless i switch to the desktop version of FB...
while all this works fine on deodexed roms...
Can anyone sort out y is it so????

Hi,
Okay, first of all: I'm really sorry for this topic. But I have searched over 10 pages in the development section and I really can't find the ROM I am looking for...
So I will just describe what I remember
This rom was based on the Sony stock firmware, so all hardware etc works fine. But they removed all Sony apps (and I mean all).
So the ROM looks like AOSP but with the sony firmware running in the back...
The topic also mentions the ability to flash "Rom Control"
Anyone got an idea?
Thanks

That isn't the one I am looking for. This one looks promising too though
Maybe I'll check this one out too.
And it was a ICS ROM, forgot to mention.
Grtz!

Most likely this was it, but the dev has since left xda and closed his acc and threads. It was called IceyHybrom or something

This ROM didn't have AOSP interface or ROM Control. Also, this ROM is quite new. Or should I say "was"?
we're never gonna find out
in the meanwhile: anyone got an alternative for what I'm looking for?
- clean ROM/AOSP style/no Sony bloatware
- but sony firmware running in background for optimal stability
- only useful Sony stuff (like all hardware supported etc)
- liveware manager (not sure if you can get this from store?)
MiniCMSandwich and grab LiveWare Manager from Play Store for free.
And this bloatware...if there is then Titanium Backup uses high quality recycle bins for these
What I mean, is that Titanium Backup is great to remove system apps.

Yeah that's the one. Actually, I have a MiniPro. I guess I was looking for ROMs in the wrong section that day.
I'm glad the search is finally over and we all made it back in one piece. Thanks for the support.
I think I'll try your ROM now. MiniCMSandwich AOSP Android 4.0.4 RC3 or maybe the lite version. Not sure which to choose.
Greetings.

I have seen many ICS stock version floating around, when I upgraded from GB I was offered 6.1.1.B.1.10. Just out of curiosity is there any more stable/efficient version available?
It would appear GB is far better than ics on the U

I'm considering downgrading my Gf's U to Gingerbread. She's complaining her phone is slow and the Phone and Messaging Apps open up with a big delay. I've flashed a custom ICS rom last weekend.
Are there any custom Kernels voor Gingerbread on the Xperia U, though?

Hello everyone.
I have updated my Xsola from GB (2.3.7) to Sony's official Rom 4.0.4 (ICS) a long time ago. And I rooted it. And from that time until now I flashed a lot of useful modes and ports (like BE2, Xperia Z Media Apps, Xperia Z phone app and ...). And I thought my phone is Odexed until now. Now I read some things about Odexed and Deodexed Roms, and I checked my "system/app" folder and I found out that there isn't any ".odex" files and there is only ".apk" files and inside them there is "classes.dex": Exactly what it named Deodex Rom! but I never never tried to Deodex my phone/rom.
Is this mean that my Rom was Deodexed from first?? Is this mean that Sony official Roms/Updates are deodexed already?
I checked my friend's phone (SE Xperia mini) and I saw that there isn't any .odex files in system/app just like me! (His phone isn't rooted and his Rom is official 4.0.4 just like me).
I'm confused! what's the answer? Are All of Sony official Roms deodexed, or what?
I understood from different forums that "All the official stock Roms should be Odexed". Is it true or I'm wrong?
Please help me find that out.
Thanks in advance.
