Hello everyone.
I have updated my Xsola from GB (2.3.7) to Sony's official Rom 4.0.4 (ICS) a long time ago. And I rooted it. And from that time until now I flashed a lot of useful modes and ports (like BE2, Xperia Z Media Apps, Xperia Z phone app and ...). And I thought my phone is Odexed until now. Now I read some things about Odexed and Deodexed Roms, and I checked my "system/app" folder and I found out that there isn't any ".odex" files and there is only ".apk" files and inside them there is "classes.dex": Exactly what it named Deodex Rom! but I never never tried to Deodex my phone/rom.
Is this mean that my Rom was Deodexed from first?? Is this mean that Sony official Roms/Updates are deodexed already?
I checked my friend's phone (SE Xperia mini) and I saw that there isn't any .odex files in system/app just like me! (His phone isn't rooted and his Rom is official 4.0.4 just like me).
I'm confused! what's the answer? Are All of Sony official Roms deodexed, or what?
I understood from different forums that "All the official stock Roms should be Odexed". Is it true or I'm wrong?
Please help me find that out.
Thanks in advance.

because of Speed! I have many problems with my little RAM and I have heard that deodexed roms are more slow than odexed ones.

Hi guys can u help me in getting an answer
What is the difference of odexed roms and deodexed roms ?
How can we deodex xperia neo v?
How can i check whtr my rom is odexed or deodexed?
All stock roms are odexed, while custom roms state whether it is deodexed or not on the development page.
Odex roms usually boot up faster, but boot quite slowly after clearing dalvik cache.
Pls search before asking, I can find a ton of answers on Google

even if you meant on ICS only, it's not entirely odexed rom, but just small part, (some of)framework files.

FB app behavior on ODEXED rom
Hey xda-ians...
I have been testing a hell lotta roms on my Neo V including odexed and deodexed....and have come to a conclusion that on odexed rom the FB app acts weirdly like no timeline, missing posts and news feed and moreover if i open FB on the stock browser it is same as in the app unless i switch to the desktop version of FB...
while all this works fine on deodexed roms...
Can anyone sort out y is it so????

Hi all,
I just installed stock ICS via ftf file.
I only want the following modifications;
1. Delete unwanted apps.
2. Status bar with toggles.
3. Performance wise smooth.
4. That's it.
I have watched the tutorial given in xda by nero to cook the ROM but I just need above modifications. Any help or ideas?

I dont understand why u would wanna stay on Stock modified when there are soo many stock based roms which have all that u've mentioned and more..
I know tht ur not new to custom roms cause i've seen you in various rom threads..im just curious as to why you would want a modified stock ics.. when custom roms are better..
I have root access and boot loader unlocked. I know there are a lot of cusyom ROMs available but I couldn't find any stable ROM on which I could stick for a long time. Every saturday night, I am whether updating the ROMs with fixes or totally new looks. However I appreciate and respect devs work and their efforts. If anyone could tell me any ROM which is already shrinked in size by deleting useless apps and performance wise smooth but not mosified so that I could install then install MODs for my choice? Any possibility?

Wow, I didn't expect such answer. Any way, I was only looking for the ROM which have NO BUGS at all (at-least for me) and Sony ICS stock ROM doesn't have bugs I guess (or may be I am wrong but I didn't face any in 3 weeks) but yea, performance is not good (lagging and all that i.e. NOT SMOOTH). So, I was only looking for this kind of ROM i.e. No Bugs, Smooth, and stable.
But any way, I have finally found the one with only 1 or max 2 bugs which would be fixed soon (I hope) and applied some MODs of my choice and I can use my Neo V without any -ve things!!!
Thanks to all!!!
Hello to everybody, I want you help me to looking for a rom that looks like jelly bean (android 4.1) for my wt19 it boatloader is locked, and my current rom is xNTX something like that, and i want to know if there is any rom to test it, of course about jelly bean.
Just install any ICS modded ROM then search on Theme and app section, you will find some JB mod for ICS.
btw, NXT already have ton of mods.

Hi everyone ! I loved the stock Walkman of the arc s, but I've replaced it without backup by an FCing app.
I already tried to extract it from stock ROM, but I didn't achieved to do so.
If someone could please mirror it/give me a link to get it back that would be great

Try these files from Xperia Ray ICS(4.1.B.1.13) I hope they'll work on Arc S because I use many files from Arc/Arc S forum on my Xperia Ray. Give it a try, make sure you backup your current ROM.
Extract Soundfx and place it in /system/lib/
Hit Thanks if my post helped you in anyway.
Thanks for paying attention !
I've already tried stuff from this version of ICS, it didn't worked once more...
BTW I found the SemcMusic.apk here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1710941
(extracted from the .587 zip)
It works very well but there is no widget. And unexpectedly, the Walkman widget I had previously downloaded from an xperia S port worked quite well with it.
If someone has a version of the stock music widget, that would be kind to post a link here
Device : Xperia Arc S
System : Rooted stock ICS .587 slightly modded / stock kernel
Delete your existing Walkman widget and replace it with this one.
Working great ! Thanks mate
