I have a limited data plan so I keep my data turned off most of the day. The problem I have is each time I turn the phone back on the data turns back on also. It did this with the stock rom so i even tried the Omega rom and there is no difference.
If i toggle the data off shouldn't it stay off until i turn it back on? Never had this problem with any other phone i have owned.
Would greatly appreciate it if somweone could tell me what i might be overlooking.

Im just here chillin' and my Data Connection turns off. help?! How do I get it back up. packed data is already clicked in the wireless and connections tab
Put your phone in airplane mode and then back. My data did drop last night as well as my wifes for about an hour. Even with the airplane mode trick it didn't want to work
Yea do that or simply restart your mob.
A reboot should solve this.
Here's an issue I've had for quite awhile, but it's been so intermittent I haven't taken the time to write about it until now.
Sometimes after I haven't turned on the "data" network on my phone for a few days, I'll find it won't turn on at all until I reboot the phone.
I don't use data that often, I just keep wifi on most of the time. The data allowance on my phone plan is extremely limited (only 100mb) so I keep it off unless I need it. Since I can go for days without turning it on, sometimes I'll find out that it just doesn't turn on at all (the box is checked but it doesn't connect) until I've rebooted the phone. Once it's back up it connects to the data no problem.
I've been on CM7 for the last month and GingerLOL before that, and this has happened on both ROMs. That makes me think it's a hardware issue, but I thought I'd check here first in case anyone else has had this happen to them. I'd also really rather not have to go through the trouble of setting the phone back to stock and unrooting it (that's possible, right?) before I make a warranty claim.
So, has anyone had this issue on their phone?
Thought I'd try bumping this thread since nobody responded to it the first time.
I've since upgraded to CM9 but the issue persists, if I don't use data for a couple days then it won't turn on. The toggle will say "on" but the icon never appears in the notification bar. Am I really the only one this happens to?
Does leaving data on drain power when you're using wifi?

instead of rebooting, use airplane mode.
it will be faster!

I'll try that next time it happens, thanks.
Hi guys, android noob here. I haven't really found an issue similar to mine so if this is a repost, sorry!
My HTC One keeps reconnecting to wifi after I've turned it OFF. I go into settings and turn wifi off, and it automatically turns it back on after 30 seconds to a minute. It's eating my battery and I can't figure out if there is an app or something in settings that triggers wifi to turn on!!
Any ideas?? Thanks a ton!
Also I'm on T Mobile and I don't have a data plan so I keep mobile data turned OFF. However there is always a 4g icon that shows up in the status bar. I don't think it's actually using any data but kind of strange that it never goes away.
My wife's verizon GS4 has CM11, last M build, I think M12?... Anyways, it has a nasty habit of losing its mobile data connection periodically. She has to reboot the phone to restore data access, and she may not notice for hours, when she hasn't gotten any emails or hangouts chats in a while. As soon as she comes home and connects to the wifi, everything comes through again.
Also, her wifi gets stuck sometimes, where it will just lose connection, and trying to cycle wifi just results in it getting stuck on "turning wifi on..." or "turning wifi off...". Again, the only remedy is a reboot.
Does anybody know of a fix for this? Should I try to get her phone flashed over to a GPE rom? Should I move to a lollipop GPE rom if it exists? If so, is there a "best" way of backing up / flashing / restoring outside of titanium backup everything?

My wife and I both have the problem of our wifi always turning on. I've turned off every conceivable thing I can think of so the wifi stays off, but it randomly keeps turning on. Anyone else experiencing this?

No for me you should try restart your phone once

I found that mine was doing the same. I turned off the Connections Optimizer and now my wife stays off. Nice idea but poorly executed.

Where did you find this "Connections Optimizer" setting because I can't find it on my Vodafone S6. I've tried every possibile setting to stop my Edge connecting every 3-4 hours to Wifi but no luck at all. Thanks
