I recently got a Samsung SCH-i939 and I'm curious if this phone model can use the GSM network in Europe.
I read the official specs and they say That this is a cdma gsm dual model.
If it work how can i unlock it.

I have a friend who bought an unlocked SIII that supports GSM so he can use it with T-Mobile. However it doesn't have the radios to connect and get 3g or 4g. Will rooting and installing a custom rom or give him this feature? I would think that the hardware supports it but I'm not sure. They do list 3g for AT&T but only 2g for T-Mobile.
