Hi,
Yesterday I decided to go s-off so i downgraded my hboot then used the revolutionary method to s-ff, the only issue is at the end it seemed to relock the bootloader. I have tried to unlock via HTC dev again but the power button wont work to select the yes option even though it is fully functional in all other aspects. my bootloader appears as shown below:
-Revolutionary-
SHOOTER_U PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
I assume the RL means relocked rather than revolutionary, if so is there any other method of unlocking the bootloader?
Thanks
Doesn't matter your s off.
You can flash a recovery and install custom roms . That's why everyone loves s-off

Thanks for the relpy,
This eliminates my thought that the locked bootloader was the reason i couldnt restore my nandroid backups after s-off as my phone will just get stuck in a bootloop, the only way around it that i have found is to flash the boot.img from my backup via fastboot then restore the sytem, data and cache separately. My phone now boots up successfullyand the restore has worked.

While trying to restore my Rezound to Stock, I was able to Relock the bootloader but then I haven't been able to get past the Hboot or Fastboot screens to load the ROM. I can't get to recovery or anything. I've tried loading the recovery by using "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img". For some reason it fails. I have the recovery file in the same place as the fastboot file. I'm not sure why it doesn't work. What should I do next, been trying for hours now to get a ROM to boot up... Thanks for your help!

you cant flash a recovery file while the bootloader is locked.
Are you on the latest OTA? ICS Leak?
You probably don't have the correct kernel installed. Coming from ICS to GB I'm assuming?

You need to unlock again before flashing a recovery

Thanks! It's working now...
Thanks guys! I just had to unlock again and the phone booted up fine! Now I just have to find where I went wrong trying to go back to stock. I believe I may have the wrong "tools" in my root folder?
Go into hboot and type in everything starting at the top. With this info we can help you further.

If you want to go back to stock, you can lock the bootloader and RUU. You'll have to use whatever version your firmware is currently on (so if you flashed the ICS firmware, you would have to use that RUU, if you're on older firmware, flash whatever GB one you're on).
Edit: You can flash to a newer RUU too, obviously, you just won't be able to go backwards again later.
If you have a custom boot image (kernel) or recovery (I think) then the stock locked hboot will have a ***SECURITY WARNING*** and will not allow you to boot. You can still RUU from this state. Unlocking the bootloader will allow you to boot. I believe you cannot RUU from an unlocked bootloader, but I don't remember for sure.

I was having a problem with my screen being unresponsive so i needed to take it into a sprint store. i ran a signed 2.17 exe and now I have hboot 1.5 but still have s-off. in the bootloader screen it says locked but still shows s-off. i am confused as to what to do next. i assume i need to unlock but didn't know if i could do this via revolutionary. I tried to do a search but everything i found was related to s-on. I am trying to restore my phone to its rooted state since I have already had the repairs made. Any help and links would be greatly appreciated.

fastboot oem writesecureflag3 or fastboot oem writesecureflag 3 , one of those will turn s-on

Thanks for the quick response. Sorry I was not more clear about what I am wanting to do. I am keeping the phone and the repairs have been made. I now have hboot 1.50 with s-off. I am wanting to flash a custom rom again and need to install a recovery. I didn't know what the process is currently for "unlocking" my phone now. When I rooted the phone originally, i was on hboot 1.4 and used revolutionary. I just do not know what to do to get my phone rooted again. I understand I have part of it with s-off still being on my phone, but the "locked" text at the top of the bootloader screen tells me I need to rectify this before I can flash a recovery. Is this correct?
Thanks.

Oh I see, well, your s-off and that locked banner means nothing because s-off should override it. Just flash a PG86IMG.zip of a recovery of your choice and you're good to go. Or you can flash it via fastboot by typing fastboot flash recovery "yourrecovery.img" once you do that, flash a rooted Rom. You could flash a lower hboot with a PG86IMG.zip if you want but its not really necessary.
If you want, I could dig up hboot 1.4 or revs hboot for ya. I think I have em in dropbox.
I got it. Thanks for all the help.

I had my HTC amaze unlocked with s-off and a modded hboot I then updated to a new ICS firmware to run ICS however when the firmware flashed to my phone it locked my phone and reset my hboot but still kept s-off. Is there anyway to unlock my phone again? If anyone has any help please let me know I already tried to unlock it through HTdev website and it did not work!!!
If you are s=off, then you don't need to unlock your bootloader. I'm assuming you have eng bootloader, and with that, you don't need to unlock anything.

HTC dev website is the way i did it, and it worked perfect for me. What method did you use that didn't allow you to unlock your phone?

If any of you read correctly, he said he unlocked it before, therefore, all he has to do is place the unlock_code file in hasoon's tool's data folder and run the unlock bootloader option, voila he's back to being unlocked, though the relocking sounds kind of odd, but it could probably be due to the hboot he was using, I'm guessing was Juopunutbear's or something.

I did read it, the old unlock bin does not work with new ics so he has to redo everything once more....

Well my old unlock bin worked fine for me re-unlocking on ICS, guess I was lucky, okay cool, my bad.
Yes I had hboot from Juopunutbear when I did the s-off it asked to install his hboot but after I upgraded it changed my hboot back to 1.93.0002 and it is SHIP s-off not eng which I am not totally sure what the difference is but is there a way to change SHIP back to ENG????? I am going to give HTCdev another chance and see what happens... thanks for the input and help
ok so I just tried HTCdev again and it unlocked my phone however it did a hard reset the only thing I have to do now is to have eng s-off instead of ship s-off.

Just flash the eng hboot via bootloader, though you don't need to, unless you plan to do fastboot commands, which the average user doesn't have much need for, hasoon's tool does everything you need, recovery, root, etc, though I do recommend 4EXT recovery, which you can easily install after obtaining root.
today I tried to root my phone and followed the instructions and get success of unlock the boot loader and s-Off using JuopunutBrear.
However, every time I try to reboot the device always stuck on JuopunutBear screen.
Run "Control Bear.exe" on my computer, it detects "JuopunutBear S-OFF success"
Whatever I select install JuopunutBear modified hboot or not, it always stuck on "JuopunutBear" screen finally.
Just wondering what's wrong?
Thank you very much.
BTW, there is no "Recovery" in JuopunutBear Bootloader.
So how can i install another rom that stored on sd-card?
Down load this and follow it to flash a recovery. I hear the 4ext is the one to use. I personally have used CWM recovery for a long time on many phones and like it. But 4ext has a good review.

Should I get the Token ID again or just use the old one?
I tried the old one that failed to unlock.

No. Stay on jbear bootloader
In recovery, disable smartflash in recovery tools option because u r s=off. Then wipe all partitions except SD in recovery format menu. Then try flashing again

Just use the old one, it works fine.
You can change back to the old bootloader by flashing one of the ph85img files in the super cid thread.

Even though S-off wasn't successful, it looks like you're htcdev unlocked now, so you should be able to flash a new recovery image. I recommend the newest 4ext recovery, and then flash a stock rom and try to get S-off again...or u can turn on smart flash in 4ext advanced settings and flash (almost) any ROM you prefer.

So I had to use fastboot on the computer to push a recovery. hopefully It's fixed now.

Yeah I got 4ext back on to it but I can't seem to get a rom or kernel to work .
maybe try flashing new firmware or different hboots try the 1.40 hboot for cm 10.1 roms
try a sense based rom, you wont be able to boot aosp roms with hboot 1.57
