Does anyone know if there is an app for Android that is similar to the Quad Camera app for the Iphone? It takes four pictures in a row really quickly and saves them on the same screen so it looks like the screen is quartered. I love the camera on my Vibrant but really miss this one app from my Iphone 3gs. I have tried the photo booth apps but those take a while to take each picture. I would really appreciate any info.
Ddo none of the the camera options in the device help? I know we have alot of camera settings including multiple shots, takes 9 in a row.. plus action.. I did a review on it at androidspin dot com.. I'd link it to ya but it won't let me.
androidfreak,
I tried all the settings in the camera. The multi-shot takes the pictures as separate pictures and it's blurry when I move. Thanks though.
Search "MultiShot" in Android Market. I think that is what you are looking for. Its not a free app though.
HI, i recently installed rom starburst and also overclocked the cpu.. but i noticed viewing the pictures on the photo gallery seems pixelated, i have to zoom in and zoom out for it to produce a clear image... somehow the system can't simply produce a clear image from the get go.. seems sad since it has a very powerful res built in on it..
is there a fix for this? does anyone else have the same problem?
I've got the same problem...
Images are low-res on opening. If you zoom in and out again, they become hi-res.
Moving the picture just a little to the side and back again also turns them hi-res.
People suggest downloading QuickPic, but this app has a different problem: moiré patterns (which don't occur in the original gallery app.)
Right now I can't decently watch hi-res pictures that are imported on my galaxy tab 10.1, and that's a real bummer...
I have a Galaxy S 2 phone that doesn't have this problem, so it may be a bug in the honeycomb gallery.
Hello ,
I had the Samsung galaxy s 2 in the past with its great build in photo and video editors. They are also found on the note 1 ( don't know if they are also on the note 2 ). I want to ask if there is a way to get/port them on the s3 because its a feature I really miss on my s3. I know I can download a photo editor on the Samsung market but it isn't the same. The s2 photo editor has a feature where you select with your finger the specific parts of the image you want to edit. On the s3 photo editor I can't do that. I used to select a person on a photo I took and blur the background so that only the person is not blurred. If there isn't a way to get that photo editor on the s3 is there maybe an app on Google play that has this feature I'm looking for ?
E.g I don't want to install a custom rom , i prefer the Samsung stock rom
Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad English
Something strange here with the S3...
A while ago Google (finally!) fixed that long withstanding 96x96 pixel limit for Gmail contacts (not G+), as well as introducing 720x720 contact image size in JellyBean.
Editing photos in Gmail contacts now has a new interface and larger file size is allowed. However, on the S3 they still look crappy low-res.
Phone running latest 4.1.2 official, not rooted.
Any ideas what needs to be done? Thx.
Post a screen capture for better understanding.
For me it's locking ok. But i'm rooted (Custom rom 4.2.2)

I'm on 4.1.2 and contact photo is high res. I did take the photo and set it using the phone, not through gmail contacts.
You have to enter the details of each contact with photos to let it render the high res picture. You'll see contact picture will be sharper after a second or two.
ok seems re-editing the contacts images' (re-add picture) in google mail and resync-ing on the S3 did the trick.
All high-res now....too bad there's a stupid translucent bar at the top when receiving a call, most heads get cut off.......
If your not on touchwiz.. "which most of us arent lol" this is an awesome camera replacement.. and I think its even better than the stock camera even if you are on TW.. I figured id post this for everyone to easily find..
Lenovo's Super Camera consists of two applications: SNAPit Camera and the SEEit Gallery, both of which are installed through a single file:
Super Camera Download Link:
https://db.tt/rZH7pkWq
Using the Super Camera:
In the viewfinder, you'll find icons for camera settings, effects, flash, switch camera, shutter, and camera type. You'll also see several indicators, notifying you if whether or not specific settings are enabled.
Zooming in keeps with the style of most other camera applications, with a pinch-to-zoom feature for up to 4.1x
Shooting Modes:
To access the different shooting modes, tap on the circle icon with a triangle in the middle, which will bring down a scrollable side menu consisting of:
Panorama - captures elongated fields of view
HDR - reproduces a greater dynamic range of luminosity
Low Light - better looking pictures in low light/nighttime
PIP - picture in picture
Burst - hold down the shutter to take many pictures quickly (freezes, might not work for you)
Speech picture - lets you save 9 second of audio with any picture
Night portrait - takes better portrait pictures in low light
Beautify - softens facial features, making you "prettier"
Self-timed - automatically takes picture when it recognizes a human face
Smile - takes picture when it recognizes a smile
Macro - takes better close up pictures
Timed picture - timer for 3, 5 and 10 seconds
Self-timed seeks out human faces and when it recognizes one, it takes a picture. The feature worked extremely well, recognizing faces in split seconds.
Macro is another feature that works exceptionally well. The camera takes very detailed close ups
Effects:
In Effects (small icon with wand and stars), you'll find three different types: Lens, Magic and Color.
SEEit Gallery:
In the gallery you'll find Photo and Album, with the former segregating pictures by timestamp into building blocks of various sizes and the latter showing your photos by album.
After selecting a picture, you can cut, rotate, share, or edit it by adding filters after-the-fact, as well as applying "beautify" and adding circular or line blurs to the photo.
Tapping on the pinwheel in the upper right hand corner will let you access the following:
Lenono SNAPit - camera
Facial Effects - beautify by messing with facial features
GIF - create GIFS
Puzzle - create collage
Settings:
Options such as resolution, image quality and save location (external or internal memory).
Advanced settings include white balance, stroscopic (auto, 50Hz, 60Hz), touch control shot, light metering, camera animations, volume key selection, and focus mode.

I have read good things for this app allready downloadind
Do I need to be rooted for this to work? I hesitate to root because my first note 3 had hardware failure(mic stopped working) so I haven't attempted root yet.
WTF?

I downloaded this and tried it. It works when I save my pictures to the internal memory, but when I tell it to save to the sd card, the pictures are blank.
Great camera app, thanks for posting it.
Yes thank you.
I'm getting a "page not available" message. Is the link still active? thanks this camera looks awesome. I've been having trouble with the stock camera on beast mode kernel for some reason.

Really? I'm running the same kernel, what kind of problem is the stock camera giving you?
It keeps force closing. I'm in MiniN3, which is super debloated. Dev recommends stock kernel, but I was trying to see if I could get away with using freeza's kernel. Camera had been my only issue.

Ah, non-stock kernels are very tempting aren't they? Snapit is a wonderful alternative to the stock camera, I hope you can get just as much enjoyment out of it. I've been having a good time trying out all its features. Many thanks to voredroid of course!
Got it! Thanks this camera is great and hasn't FC at all. I greatly appreciate having the alternative and the options are nice and numerous.
