Backup your apps directly to flashable zip file, build your own update.zip!
---------- IMPORTANT ----------
App2zip is in very early stage, does NOT work on some devices, so please first of all make a test to see if it works for you (e.g. backup an app you don't care much, uninstall it and restore back via CWM recovery). Use at your own risk!
-------------------------------
ROOT REQUIRED!
App2zip allows to backup applications directly to a zip file flashable via CUSTOM recovery.
Building your own update.zip file is easy:
1) Choose the apps to be included in the zip file (you can pick system apps too)
2) Click GO! and wait until the zip is done. That's it!
Note: Restore via stock recovery is not supported yet.
Note: This app won't work without root access.
Not downloadable from the forum app. No link available.

Neon green Morphs lockscreens for CM7, I have an Evo 3D so the lockscreens are made for the phones resolution, I personally use ZipThemer to make a flahable zip, plus it also makes an undo zip in case you want to go back. Enjoy
Instructions:
1: Install ZipThemer link to the app https://market.android.com/details?id=kellinwood.zipthemer&hl=en
2: Make a folder in you SD card and name it ZipThemer and put the zip inside the folder
3: Press the button +Theme, choose altitudegreen.zip and then press Build it, when it asks you if you want to create a flashable undo press yes, the app will do its thing and tell you when its done, now flash the altitudegreen zip and youre done

its there now, sorry.
I've noticed a few user apps that do not install into the standard /data/apps location... ESPN Sportscenter is one, ING Retirement app is another. These apps create their own directory under sdcard instead.
Wondering if there is any way to move the apps into the proper /data/apps location?
You sure its not just storing data there?
The APK itself should be in /data/app/
hmm... That does sound more likely lol. It's not installed at the moment so I can't confirm. Will reinstall and check.

Apps do that so if you reinstall you keep your settings.
I just wish they all stuck it in the same place and not make there own folder in /sdcard/* and keep it in /sdcard/android/data/*
Yep, looks like some image cache...and it's empty even, grr.
I know there is no need for an image here but I've been wanting to test xda app image handling since the update ;-)

Today i have taken a screen shot from my box account, where i have uploaded apk of LG backup assistant.
According to above screen shot my file have been downloaded for 365 times till today AND
NOBODY PRESSED THANKS BUTTON EVER. WHY
hello friends, I bring you a tutorial on how to make a. zip from any application, and well I decided to do this because it was annoying to be without any file explorer, and as when changing of ROM settings I have no internet and I use HiAPN for my data APN.
First we have installed the application called "Titanium Backup Pro" once we have this we proceed as follows.
1) go to "batch" in "titanium backup" and search this option

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
2) then, selected "run" and select your app that you wish to be a .zip
3) then, wait a few seconds and your .zip has been created to flash in CWM
4) your .zip is in your SD with the name "update.zip" and if you want you can rename

I know this is probably posted elsewhere in various forums but just in case here is the SunBeam.apk Live Wallpaper from the HTC One/GS4 Google Editions.
Install:
Download SunBeam.apk here https://app.box.com/s/vvkwv0pbe09ncelp91ah
Open and install as normal.
(Or)
As system app (Must be rooted and have system write access)...
Use Root Explorer or equivalent to place the apk in the system/app folder and set permissions as follows...
Now select from Live Wallpapers and enjoy. eb

Thanks for sharing. It will also work if installed like a normal apk.

Awesome! I didn't know that. I always instruct to install as system app for those that don't know how. It is definitely something worth learning.
I will update the Installation Instructions. Thanks for the feedback. eb
