These are the faults I have had so far with handsets.
All these handsets were new, on RBA24.
1st) clicking on calls, annoying.
2nd) Would not work on gprs, power off and on, clock grossly out, intermittant loss of network
3rd) at first, I thought this was a pukka handset as it worked bar bluetooth. Bluetooth would connect with Nokia car kit, then disconnect. Power off bluetooth and on again, and bluetooth would not start up. Work round for this was to shut down handset, power up, enable lights on while charging, phone would connect to car kit and work, USB socket dies and wont charge.
4th) Bluetooth works no problem at all. Only difference is came from vodafone with 24 installed, didnt use update service like other 3!
bizarre or what!!
Hi everyone,
I searched the forums to see if anyone else was having bluetooth reception and range issues but came up short.
I'm having problems keeping my Plantronics Voyager Pro + headset connected to the phone. I usually have to have it within 3 feet of the phone, or I get a lot of static or BT disconnects completely. What's weird is I am able to stay connected up to 20 feet away with my Jabra bluetooth speaker. I recently bought a hard plastic case for the phone which made the problem a little worse, but not too much (5 feet range vs 3 or 4).
Anyone else having this issue? I just bought the phone on 12/17 and I think I have 30 days to exchange or return. Are there any fixes out there that have worked for anyone?
Thanks in advance for any comments or suggestions!
*** Update: I just re-paired my Voyager Pro + headset with my old HTC HD2 and was able to walk about 25 feet away from the phone (two walls in between) and had no static or disconnects. Must be the Amaze. ***
I've been using the Motorola S305, and I can be two rooms away, and still get good reception from the phone, so long as doors are open. Like every bluetooth headset I've used, getting my body between the phone and the headset is a problem (phone needs to be in a pocket on the same side of my body as the headset BT receiver). The quality of the bluetooth on this phone seems to be superior to that of my old N1. No complaints.
Thanks Dave. Are Bluetooth issues such as these hardware or software issues?
Get new earphones.

I called T-Mobile and they said the bluetooth connectivity/range problem is a known issue for the Amaze 4G. HTC is currently working on a solution that will likely be resolved on the next software update.
Off I go to buy a set of wired earphones until they release it.
Curious--I wonder why I'm having no difficulties, then. I've connected the Amaze to my N1, the amaze to my ASUS Transformer, and the Amaze to my S305 headset, all with no problems.
Not all the profiles I'd like to see supported necessarily are (Can't get DUN to work), but I'm puzzled that there's apparently some problem.
It's interesting that your Voyager worked so well with the HD2.
On the Tmobile forums, there's certainly discussion:

So far I have talked on BT with no issues. I set the phone on my desk and I walk around my room without issues, distance is no more than 10 feet, but works without issues.
Get the latest updates for you phone. Delete the pairing with your Bluetooth then pair again. I have a Jawbone Era and my reception was horrible. My reception is much better now after updating and pairing again, although I still have a long delay between phone and Bluetooth.
Only issue I have is delay when making call. Recieving the call is fine

I have a hard time connecting to my car's bluetooth. I have to play around with the settings until it links up but that's such a hassle. Also, I noticed that after turning bluetooth on, I would sometimes lose signal. Weird..
Hi,
For about a year I have used my GS2 with a Plantronics Savi Go bluetooth headset - I normally leave the phone in its desk cradle and use MyPhoneExplorer to make/answer all my calls and send text messages (I work in a small office with no wired phone at my desk and I sent at least 500 texts/day to coordinate teams working in the field.)
Recently - after returning from a trip - I noticed that the phone and headset would not work together at all if the wifi on the phone was enabled - the headset would connect to the phone and the first 10 seconds or so of every call would be OK, but the level of interference (as heard on the headset) would increase and increase and the headset would inevitably disconnect after about 20 seconds.
With wifi disabled on the phone this does not occur.
The headset works fine with another phone and also connects fine to its Plantronics USB adapter. This headset is designed to remain connected to two devices at once (intended to be the USB adapter and a phone) so you can make calls from either Skype/a voip app or your phone without having to change anything.
I have dropped the phone about a hundred times so I changed the aerial/loudspeaker module (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300715915473) but the interference still occurs.
Is there any way this could be a software issue? I hate updating as I have custom density and all sorts of other settings so my phone is still on the same android 2.3.3 stock ROM that it came with - I have also removed all the Samsung customisations and KIES etc so updating is a pain.
My opinion is that there is no way this could be a software issue and that, as the antenna replacement has not solved the problem, there's probably a hardware problem and I should just toss it and get a Note or another GS2.
However, thinking about it more - the bluetooth and wifi transmitters share the same antenna? Is there any software cooperation to make sure these devices don't try and transmit at the same time or is there hardware gating? Are there filters designed to stop the bluetooth transmitter transmitting directly 'into' the wifi receiver (as they both share the same aerial which is used both for transmit/receive) and are they software or hardware?
My thoughts are definitely hardware but I would welcome the opinions of anyone that really knows how the two transmitters/receivers are meant to work together.
Thanks!
I have a Verizon S4 which was just updated to 4.3.
There has been a continuing problem even before the update with the Blue Buds X dropping the bluetooth connection on a random basis. Sometimes it is every few minutes or even once per hour.A replacement Blue Buds has the same problem. All other Bluetooth connections with my S4 to my car, and a Creative BT speaker are fine.
Re-pairing didn't help either.
Could there be a setting in the phone that could cause this behavior?
Thanks for any advice!
I hope I'm posting this in the right sub-forum, since I think this is not a device-specific problem.
So, I recently bought a Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 and as you probably know, the Drone can be controlled via an Android App (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.parrot.freeflight). First I simply tried the app with the default touch controls, but it was not precise enough and I missed the tactile feedback. Then I had the idea of connecting my PS3 controller with the Sixaxis app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscontroller) to my phone (Moto G 2nd Gen., 2014, Dual SIM variant) and controlling the Drone with that. And here comes my problem:
If I have only Wifi enabled on my phone I can fly about 25-30m with the Drone
If I enable Bluetooth (to use the PS3 controller) and Wifi the distance drops to about 10m and I get a lot of connectivity issues to the drone.
I also tried my ASUS Transformer Prime (TF201), that's even worse. As soon as I turn on Bluetooth the Wifi signal drops to almost nothing.
I have found others with similar problems (for example: http://android.stackexchange.com/qu...wifi-reception-severely-affected-by-bluetooth or here: http://forums.androidcentral.com/sa...-samsung-galaxy-tab-s-10-5-wifi-problems.html).
Can anybody explain why the Wifi quality drops (massively) when Bluetooth is turned on?
I was experimenting a little more this weekend and the issue is definitely there. I was outside of the city, where there was no other Wifi or anything. Looked at the networks with Wifi Analyzer before and after turning Bluetooth on. Without BT all channels had max. rating, with BT on they all dropped to 1-2 stars...
