I have no idea where to start - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

So my note is originally Bell, unlocked and using it on Telus. It's rooted and running a custom rom.
When I first rooted my Bell note, I flashed a wrong think and my phone became AT&T.
So now I want to go back to stock so I can receive the ICS update but I have no idea witch recovery and image to flash.
Do I restore to Bell (the original rom), Telus (my carrier) or AT&T(the wrong flash)?
Will the Kies method restore my Note to stock ICS since it got released today for all Canadian carriers?
I'm so confused.
Thanks.

So you have been using an AT&T rom this whole time, or was it just a recent event? But answering your question, I don't see why you can't just flash one for telus if your phone is unlocked. - Worse comes to worse, check the sticky threads.

according to the OP, yes..it is rar file, you will extract to a folder then point your odin to the file....you will be going back to stock gb with this, take a look the op...k
as far as counter....never look at mine, so not sure, LOL, mine is in the high double digits...LOL

Right. The only person who should concern themselves with the flash counter is someone who is sending a phone back through their carrier for a warranty claim. Eveyone else flash your brains out!!

[Q] Anybody have the Rogers stock rom

It would be greatly appreciated if anybody here has the stock Rogers rom. I deleted a bunch of bloatware and have root but i think im going to keep my phone stock. Tried looking but cant seem to find a stock Rom. Would be helpful if there was a thread that had all the stock carriers roms. Thanks
I would also GREATLY appreciate this!
If you just want some of the bloat back for Rogers, DAGr8 has them here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23092508&postcount=3
I want the stock rom because I flashed an ATT one which sucks.
I agree that would be amazing. I got screwed by a guy that sold me the phone and need rogers Rom to do a fully flash. I can't even access internal storage.
Can i flash Rogers ROM onto to Bell i717
Hey guys.
I just bought unlocked Galaxy Note from Bell and its full of Bell crap.
Can i flush Samsung Galaxy Note i717M with i717R (Rogers)
And, by the way does any one have stock Rogers ROM for i717R ?
greatly appreciative Answer and guidance in advance
Same here would really like a full set of stock ROM files for the I717R (Rogers) and get rid of the AT&T crap one.
BTW you can put Da_G's rooted kernel on the AT&T ROM and it is usable, but like you guys I want my Rogers image back.
Guys,
I just bought Rogers Galaxy Note , yesterday,
Everything is stock,
I don't how to get stock files, if somebody can direct me how too. I can help.

Okay, so I'm bit of a novice to these ROMs. But your upload is a 7zip file. If I was going to use it to flash a Rogers i717r would I just rename it to .zip and the use recovery mode?
Currently using Noteworthy 4.0.3 Beta 2 and would like to put the Note back to the Rogers stock rom.
AllGamer, I know this may be asking for too much, but would you be able to get me a stock image of a Telus Note?

Y'know you could just extract it from the .tar I made at your request a few days ago.

[STOCK][ODIN][GB][Bell] To revert back to stock for OTA ICS in May (hopefully...)

Good morning!
These are Odin-flashable .tars of the stock Bell system, boot, recovery, and radios and can be used to revert to stock for he upcoming OTA update of Ice Cream Sandwich. I've been using DAGr8's ICS alpha 2 for a while now and have found that some Canadian-specific apps will not install, and although his ROM is excellent, I'd like to try the stock Bell ICS when it comes out.
Files Available
NB: All files are zipped to save space. Please extract the .tar before flashing via Odin.
pda-odin-bell-stock.zip - This .tar contains stock system.img.ext4, stock recovery.img, and stock boot.img and can be used to mostly restore your Note to stock by flashing it via Odin's pda option. However, flashing this .tar via Odin will increase your flash counter so if you're interested in resetting the counter, check out the next file.
pda-odin-bell-stock-system-boot.zip - This .tar contains the stock system.img.ext4 and stock boot.img and can be used to assist in resetting your flash counter using braway's method. Flash it via Odin's pda option. The recovery.img has been removed to preserve CWM if you've already flashed it to your phone. Once your flash counter has been reset, you can then return recovery to stock via this method using just the recovery.img file in the archive here.
phone-odin-bell-stock-radio.zip - This .tar contains the stock Bell modem/radio and is flashed via Odin's phone option. Not working correctly. Working on fix. My apologies.
Bell-Modem-CWM.zip - This .zip is made by pterry30 from the modem/radio files in my .tar and works perfectly. Just flash via Clockworkmod recovery. I'll keep working on a way to get the Odin .tar to work though.
SkyDrive Folder containing all Bell Files - All above Bell files can now be found in this SkyDrive folder. Provider changed since my public DropBox links keep being suspended to due to excessive bandwidth traffic.
The stock Bell kernel can be obtained from this thread thanks to Da_G. Flash via Odin's pda option.
Disclaimer
I am in no way responsible for any damages caused to your Note by anything you flashed. These files are provided as is to help Bell Note owners return to stock after whatever they've done to their phones.
History
These stock files were pulled from two different Bell Notes so we could get everything we were looking for unmodified. marshals pulled the system.img.ext4, boot.img, and radio files from his Note after replacing recovery with CWM. I pulled the recovery.img and flash counter data from my Note after flashing a rooted AT&T kernel. The files were then prepared in an Ubuntu Virualbox into .tar, then checked in Odin for errors by loading them into the program. No errors were reported. These files have not yet been flashed to a Note as I'm still playing with DAGr8's ICS alpha 2 and only have the one device.
Special Thanks
marshals for pulling the system.img.ext4, boot.img, and radios from his Note.
braway for taking my constant questions and providing much needed guidance in my first developer-ish project as well as for the flash counter reset.
Da_G for the stock Bell kernel, instructions on using Odin, and indirectly showing me how to use the Linux terminal.
pterry30 for packaging the stock modem/radio files into a CWM-flashable .zip.
Please post your experiences with these stock Bell files below and if you have any questions, I'll do my best to help. Enjoy!!

Just PM me a link to these files and I'll see what I can do about making them Odin-flashable. Would love to be able to make it easier for people to revert back to stock if they want. Also, if you need any help with the stock system.img, don't hesitate to ask.
This helps a lot thanks!

I do not know how more people have not said thanks to this!! This is amazing, thank you so much for your contributions. God bless.
Just wondering if the stock Bell radios above are the same ones as in your original thread? I carrier unlocked my phone after I rooted it. Don't know if that might have had any bearing on why I couldn't get the radios to flash with Odin. Everything else flashed back to stock and has been working fine - great work as I said before! And for all I know, I may still have the stock radios already on my Note. I can't say whether anything that I may have flashed in rooting/unrooting it would have replaced them and I'm not sure how to check. Anyone know?
Looking forward to OTA ICS soon, thanks again!
Will we need a 0 flash count, and stock recovery for the OTA update?

I understand that a thread like this just needs to be done, but I'm having trouble understanding why people would do this?
I mean, if you're switching back then you're obviously rooted and you probably like to use custom roms, why not wait till someone comes out with a solid, stable, better custom version of ics based on the official release?
Unless you're trying to resell or don't trust the rom's security integrity, why not wait?

I did it as a safety net for myself in case I messed something up. Additionally, the ROMs available currently are all based off AT&T software, and I wanted the option to return to Bell stock to get ICS OTA when it is released. I've been using DAGr8's ICS alpha II on my Note for a while now, but today I returned to stock because I was having too many FC's, too much lag, and problems downloading some Canadian specific apps. His ROM was excellent, but based off leaked AT&T code.
I guess I did this for my own benefit and for those who wish to return to stock at any given time. If you don't want or need it, you don't have to use it, but some people are very appreciative to have these files and I am happy to have helped them.

I've made the stock firmware for Bell that was originally on here (search). From my experience making that and the subsequently making Telus and Rogers stock firmware with files from other people, I know that if you flash one of the big three's firmware on a Bell Note, the model reported by the software is that of the owners firmware. Can confirm it as when I flashed the Telus firmware on my Bell Note, it reported it as an i717D (Telus' variant). I assume it will be the same in your case.

[Q] Quick Questions: Note Update on T-Mobile

So my aunt has am AT&T Galaxy Note on T-Mobile and I told the store she purchased the phone from to flash the T-Mobile radios so that she can get 4G HSPA+ but the device is stuck on gingerbread and I would really like to update it to stock Jellybean with Touchwiz? If I use Odin to flash the latest update will she lose her unlock? But then will it need to be unlocked now that T-Mobile has 4G LTE in Las Vegas? I figured all she would need to do is buy a new T-Mobile 4G LTE compatible SIM and then use that but I'm not sure. Can the new firmware be rooted and can it be unlocked if need be? Also, she broke the mirco-usb port so is there any way that I can flash to stock without the use of that port? I'm really sorry for all the questions but if anyone could answer them I would be very grateful.
If the usb port is broken, you won't be able to use Odin. Is the device rooted? If it is there is hope! If not, you're up the river without a paddle.

I know right but luckily the device is rooted and because the shop said they flashed the T-Mobile radios, I believe it has a custom recovery on it.
Whew! I'm glad to hear you're already rooted. You can forget about Odin now. Flashing roms ands modems thru recovery won't lose your unlocked SIM info. First thing I would do is update your recovery. Then you can flash a new JB rom. A lot of newer roms depend on TWRP recovery. You can find that here in the original android development section. Read carefully and follow the install via .zip way. Since you're on tmobile I'd read the post just before this one about JB and what modems are working best. I'm on at&t so I can't help you there. They also remark on what roms they are running. You can follow their lead, or check out all three available roms in the development selection. Again read the developers directions, and make sure the rom is for your device before you flash anything. Then enjoy!
I didn't see any mention of having installed a custom recovery. If the OP hasn't done that he can still update to the latest stock rom using Kies Air. He can get that from the app store.
Being rooted has nothing to do with any of this. Rom flashing only depends on having 1) a pc with Odin and a working usb port, or 2)having a custom recovery already installed.
Flashing a custom rom won't affect the radio you already have, but if you update to the JB stock rom it will flash the current baseband (modem).
Unlocking is permanent. No flashing can change that phone back to a locked state.
Yes, you need a 4G LTE sim card, but under even best conditions you will mostly see 4G only (HSPA+ ).
I might be wrong, but to use T-Mobile's LTE you have to use a stock AT&T Rom. I'm in Houston and we just got LTE here.

You can use your choice of stock or custom roms with LTE.
UCLF6, UCMB4, UCMD3 can all be used under ICS, JB custom roms. 4.0.4, 4.1.2, 4.2.2 or the likes. Cyanogenmod, paranoid, slim, padawan, it doesn't matter.
On anything but stock samsung you can *#*#4636#*#* into dialer then phone options to change between lte and wcdma or all. Also available under settings/mobile network/preference.
Those are the 3 most current modems with access to LTE. UCLF6 being from the official ICS last year.

I've been an android since tmobile.
That and being Computer/SmartPhone Technical Support....I constantly try to be in "the know".
Shoot I fix cars now and never changed my oil before 2 years ago.
I tried to update my I717 (AT&T) and have nothing but access to restore or download mode...it errored out, then I didn't do the emergency backup right away. When I tried to do it later, I get about 96% of the way done, and it errors out....

A lot of newer roms depend on TWRP recovery.

I don't think there is a dependence on which recovery you use but more of a recommendation. I've flashed many ROMs with CWM that the developer recommended using TWRP and they worked just fine. So, long as you do the procedure right, it doesn't matter what recovery you use.

S9+ Sprint to Unlocked?

Hi,
I have a Galaxy S9+ that was originally on Sprint, but I unlocked it with them after paying it off and moved to a different carrier (Mint Mobile.) However, it is still full of the sprint bloatware and always prompts for carrier updates that never work. I'm assuming this is because it is trying to get Sprint stuff still?
I was thinking of flashing to the unlocked rom, but I am a bit puzzled with this phone. It seems tricker than other phones I've flashed. I've flashed all my other android phones previously, but I'm nervous and don't want to brick this device by flashing the wrong file! Can someone point me in the right direction, please?
Model: SM-G965U
Software Version: G965USQS3BRK3
Hardware Version: REV1.1
Thanks in advance!!

Mine didn't... We left sprint about 4 months ago and it still has all the sprint bloatware and the splash screen, etc... I can't get it to go away! Sprint confirmed the device is completely unlocked on their end.
I thought it was going to switch firmware automatically with the new SIM but it didn't.

I have seen phones to that. I tried metro PC's and some Sprint stuff stayed on my S8 at the time. Then when I when back to Sprint some metro stuff stayed. I even put a vzw Sim into it and vzw stuff stayed to. Even the unlocked S9 gets the bloadware when you add your Sim. It sucks

You could flash the U1(factory unlocked) firmware ending in 3ARK5. It was recommended to me to use the one with product code XAA, which I guess is purely carrier-free. When you flash it you'll want to use the patched Odin and use CSC rather than HOME_CSC, so that it will fully wipe your phone and set everything all up to work properly according to your sim card.
@YrrchSebor, I couldn't find 3ARK5/XAA. I did find 3ARJ5/XAR here:

Will that do the trick?

That may well work just fine, but I used XAA from Updato just the other day!

I actually flashed over from Verizon over a month ago, and I got a string of OTA updates up to ARJ6, but for some reason I got no update to ARK5, so I just flashed it manually. The main thing is to use a firmware with the same bootloader version, which you have by chosing one with a 3. I will say I couldn't be happier since switching to the unlocked firmware.
Ok, thanks! I'll give it a try this evening since you've already had success with that version.
I have Odin3 v3.12.3. Would you mind sharing the Odin version you used? I want to make sure I don't mess up this device.
Thanks again!

Hmm, that Odin might be an official one? You want the one with patcheD in the file name, looks like you can get it in the first post here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/patched-odin-3-13-1-t3762572
Reason for this is that official Odin will not flash a firmware that doesn't match up with what is already on the phone, so the patched version ignores that check.
Awesome. I'll download that one, then.
Thanks again for your help!
Sounds good, good luck and keep us posted.
Sorry, one more question to clarify- should I just clash the CSC or would you recommend I do BL, AP, and CP as well?

No problem, you'll wanna do all of them. Definitely AP because I believe that's the system with the apps(or lack of) and everything else. I did all four of them and that way my phone is fully as if it was a U1 out of the box.
Sweet. And I should just leave USERDATA blank right? So it is a complete factory reset?
Yep, you won't find a userdata in that download anyway. Just use CSC instead of HOME_CSC and it should all be good. Back anything up first if you really need it later. after the flash it will boot up and then shut down again so that it can configure everything according to your sim, so make sure and let that happen.
Success! Working better than before now. Thanks for your help.
Arright, glad you got it working, enjoy! One of my favorite things about the unlocked firmware has got to be the free built-in caller ID
