As the title suggests, I am hunting for a ZTE Merit (Z990G) compatible version of the new Android 4.1 Jellybean. I've been searching for a few hours on google, other forums and this forum with no results. The closest I've come to is one for the ZTE Skate, but I don't want to risk a brick due to incompatibility. My phone is rooted successfully already, I just need the ROM now.
*edit*
I would also settle on ICS (ice cream sandwhich) if that is available.

In the download description at http://www.asus.com/Eee/Eee_Pad/Eee_Pad_Transformer_Prime_TF201/#download it states:
1. Only suitable for Andriod4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS version. (not responsible for misspelling lol)
Has anyone tried the unlock tool while on the latest jellybean update?

Most devices require that you install every update from where you are, to the last update. Meaning if you are on Android 4.0.1 and ASUS released a 4.0.3 (ICS), 4.0.4 (ICS) and finally a 4.1.1 update you will have to install all three.
Hello guys
I may be posting this question on the wrong forum, but not sure where to put it since Im new here.
I know my way around Windows and PC hardware, but Im an absolute noob regarding installing ROMs on an Android tablet.
Im have the Newsmy Newpad T3 android tablet, bought from LightInTheBox.com, but I would love to get Jelly Bean on it. It's currently running Ice Cream Sandwich, I think. Its Android 4.0.3, which is working nicely, but I know Jelly Bean is somewhat better. My device has, according to the app named "SysInfoTool". an ARMv7 Rev 0 (v71) CPU.
Now, does one own a Jelly Bean ROM for this device? Or able to help me make one/find one and especially: I need noob instruction on how to get it installed. It's not just like inserting the Windows disc into your drive and begin installing, which I've done many times, so this is really terra incognita for me.
Best regards,
Michael N. Petersen, Denmark.

I've unlocked my Transformer Prime TF201 with the asus tool.
I would like to get root on it.
I guess the next step is to install twrp.
When I check the twrp site
they have 2 methods depending on the bootloader version (ICS or JB).
How can I know which bootloader is installed on my TF201?
Thanks in advance!

well if you are running ICS (ice cream sandwich or android 4.0.x) it would be the ICS one it would be JB if you are running JB (jelly bean or 4.1.x probably in your case)
Thank you very much for your answer.

Seems logical, but what confuses me is that while the unlock was successfull the asus unlock tool says
"Unlock Device App: Unlock boot loader(Only works with TF201 ICS OS)
Notice:
1. Only suitable for Andriod4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS version."
while I'm on JB (the 4.1.x version) if I check the settings.
Is their any danger in trying the twrp JB version while there is a very slim change I'm on ICS bootloader?
Also, a backup while on JB isn't possible according to the twrp site.
I would hate to brick my device without having a backup .
