Brick? Flashing Team Nightmare Sense4 - HTC Amaze 4G

Flashing it borked my EXT/INT SD using 4EXT, so my backups are gone. RUU isn't finding the phone even though it's connected. What are the next steps I should be taking?

It couldn't have messed anything up or have gotten rid of your backups... (I know the updater script)
To fix, download android revolution hd and flash it
Sent from my epic amaze 4g

Since you have 4ext recovery you can get that Rom onto your sdcard very easily.
Sent from my epic amaze 4g

Both Internal AND external SD were unmountable in 4ext. I had to use the SOFF tool that flashes the TMO RUU.. thank god for that.

[Q] 2.17 Flashing Issues

I'm on my EVO 3D rooted with 2.17 stock ROM.
I have the recovery as twrp 1.0.3 but i cant install anything. it'll say trying to install and then it wont have any messages and it goes back to the main home screen. Any help?
(Also what ROMs, Mods, and Kernels work with 2.17?)

I can't find TWRP version 2.0.1. I found TWRP 1.1.1 and flashed it and the problem is that any zip i flash won't last. For example, I just tried flashing the EVO 3D Google Talk w/Voice and Video.zip and i did not work.

then most likely your recovery is not working properly... if youre rooted and unlocked then your given permissions to write to the boot partition and the recovery is given permission to write to the system and data partitions... try using CWM 4.0.1.4 for the evo 3d or also known as the shooter....

Help with custom roms!

Hello All,
I am sorry if this isn't in the right spot, but I used the goomanager to install a new custom rom and it went very bad. I can't access the OS at all and I did a wipe of the system and cache directories. I tried installing CM10.0, but it just stays on the loading screen forever. Any help is appreciated!
Thanks,
Chris C.
P.S. I relocked my bootloader because I am going to try and start from the beginning.
Did you make a recovery, s-on or off? As long as you have twrp installed you can hook your phone up to your computer and download a rom to your sd card and flash it.. Verify of you are off or on and then follow the instructions, I suggest viper rom... They are off and on capable.

Sounds like you are S-On, if so just go to the Play Store and get a app called Flashimage GUI by JoeyKrim it will make life alot better if you don't plan on getting S-Off..

Thanks for all your help. FYI, the mount issue was caused by a corrupt Internal SD memory. All I had to do was just reformat the internal memory using my current recovery tool, TWRP 2.5. After, this I followed the unlimited.io websites instructions on how to S-OFF the EVO LTE. During this process, the RUU was reflashed onto the phone and the OS is working properly and not to mention, I have S-OFF now. :good:
Thanks again,

[Q] Not able to install Any Roms anymore

Hi Guys,
I'm not new to flashing roms. I've been flashing since the Evo 4G. Currently with my EVO3D, I've had no issues. I was on an AOSP rom (PACMAN and CM 10.1) and I wanted to try a few sense roms. I've tried CoolRoom and stock with no luck. I was able to install Butterz Sense. But now I have a problem, now I can't install any roms at all.
I have tried clearing cache and factory resets.
I've tried changed the HBOOT, I started with 1.5, I went to 1.4, 1.3, now i'm at 1.04 i believe all with no luck. I end up going into a bootloop with all roms.
My current config:
Hboot 1.5
S-Off
4EXT Recovery Touch RC9
Roms I've tried that failed:
PACMAN
CM 10.1
MIUI
COOLROM
Stock
RUU install
Other things I've tried
HBOOT 1.5, 1.4, 1.3, 1.04
TWRP recovery
Fastboot install boot.img
Only working rom:
Butterz Sense
Any help would be great since this is such a bizarre case.
Thanks!

Install 4ext recovery touch RC8, wipe data, wipe cache and dalvik, format all partitions except sd card. Repeat all these steps and try flashing ROM. I had similar issues when I installed 4ext RC9 and this helped

Download Hboot 1.4 from the following link. http://androidforums.com/cdma-evo-3d-all-things-root/648902-radios-hboot-firmware-all-downloads.html
Put it to the root of your sdcard and rename it it to PG86IMG.zip
Reboot into the boot loader and it will load the zip. I believe you need to be s-off to do this. If you are not, then do the wire trick (do a quick search).
That should do it for you.

[Q] Semi Bricked HTC Evo 4G LTE, Please help

Hello All,
I rooted my phone a long time ago and went from the stock rooted rom to MeanRom ICS. I then wanted to try other roms. I use TWRP 2.6 and tried everything to install a new rom. A friend suggested that I S-off my phone to see if that would work. I then tried Moonshine to S-off my phone. Now the phone wont boot at all. I can still get in the recovery and bootloader, but that's all I can do.
Here is my info for Bootloader:
Jewel PVT Ship S-on RL
HBOOT 1.19.0000
Radio 1.12.11.0809
OpenDSP v.29.1.0.45.0622
eMMC boot
Thanks in advanced for the help
First things first, welcome to XDA, and congrats on your first post/thread. Too bad that this is the reason for it.
On to more pressing matters...are you sure that you completed ALL of the steps in order? Also, did you happen to read this thread?

I'm assuming that you did, but if you didn't, it will be a good help.

Do you have a backup you can restore from recovery? If so, install your backup to get you up and running again. Otherwise, you can mount USB storage in recovery and copy a ROM from your computer to your phone, then flash the ROM. Remember since you're S-on you'll need to install the kernel separately from the ROM. Most Sense ROM's like MeanBean and Viper have a kernel installer built in; just follow the OP for whatever ROM you wish to install.
Also, you must either use Facepalm or Dirty Racun to gain S-off on your phone. Moonshine only works for those on Hboot 2.09/software version 3.16.
You can find links to Dirty Racun & Facepalm in the link in my sig.

Tried the backup I made a few days ago. No joy. I think that my bootlaoders fragged. When I boot into the bootloader, green text for the bootloader saying theres no PJ75Diag.img, PJ75Diag.nbh, and or PJ75.Diag.zip.

All that green text means is that the bootloader is looking for a PJ75IMG file on your external SD card. There isn't one normally there unless you're updating firmware. It's normal.
What ROM's have you tried to flash?

I load the backup, but the screen goes black after the initial HTC boot screen. I don't know what's going on.
I've tried CM 10.1 Nightly, Ubuntu touch WIP, and a few others. Everything seems to do just fine while installing, and then I reboot to a boot loop or staring at the HTC boot screen for a while.
When I rooted my phone, I went from CM 9 to MeanRom. After I went to MeanRom it acted kind of funky. I've not been successful at loading any new roms after that. I think I forced something that the phone didn't like onto it and now its stuck with it.
Try flashing MeanBean. Make sure you wipe properly before you flash it.

Should I go for the newest one? (3.09 or and older version)
The latest version should be just fine. The rom version doesn't change much aside from the fact that 3.09 has the latest changes and bug fixes.

In addition, make sure you follow Mikey's instructions on flashing the ROM since you're S-on for the time being. His ROM has a kernel installer that requires an extra step to install the kernel separately from the ROM on phones that are S-on.

Use Facepalm. It's Windows friendly. I think Bigdaddy619 or another user even has everything packaged up nice & neat so it's ready to run. I've personally never used it but I hear it's quick & painless. Make sure you Nandroid your current setup before you get started.

Ubuntu is packaged in a live distro, you don't have to install anything.

SuperCID for HTC Evo 4G LTE:
Code:
adb shell
su
echo -ne "22222222" | dd of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p5 bs=1 seek=20
After you do this start the other commands
Just take your time do one at a time and read what it says in the cmd window
Sorry to bother you guys again, but it says device not found when I enter adb reboot bootloader. Am I doing something wrong? I do beleive I have all the drivers. Sorry for being a pain, still learning about this stuff.
