Hi Members,
Does anybody know more about the GPS in the HTC Mozart ?
In my old Touch2 i ve got real GPS Modul, the GPS-Fix takes only 1 Minute.
Offline Navigation with Tomtom7.9 was fast and stable and precision. Thats what i need !
Then ive got an Iphone 3GS . It has only AGPS , not a real GPS Modul.
GPS Fix without WIFI or 3GS take about 30 Minutes . The free Navigation runs, but very unprcecision under Trees. Thats a Joke....
Now i have the HTC Mozart. The Telekom Select Navigon Navigation dont start without a DATA Connection via 3GS !
And i found no realy Offline Navigation Software.
Does the HTC Mozart contains a real GPS Modul or only a AGPS Chip like the IPhone ?
Im really angry obout this steps back in the stoneage.
Iv bought an Tomtom XL to navigate. Now iv got 2 Devices and a lot of Cables here in my Car .
Has anybody a better solution for WP7 ?
Nokia Drive, HTC Location... all with no data navigation
Navigon also works without data conection,
just remember to turn on your "location" under settings, then it activates the real gps modul in our mozart.
follow the steps.
the answer to your question is YES.
and follow the steps
1.turn on the gps in settings.
2.turn on the gps in your navigation software(optional if the app has a setting like this)
3.there you go. even without a data connection.
and btw i was curious, does iphone 3gs really a-gps not real gps?
gps
I have now 3 gps in my Mozart... Turn by Turn from gps tuner, which requires data connection so you can download maps on the fly but also you can download them at home via wifi, GPS Navigator from aSpass which is the same, and Nokia Drive that i havent tried yet!
Hi. I use Navigon 4.1 on my HTC Mozart. Did anyone noticed that after using the program for more than 20 mins, the phone turns very hot (i never imagined that a mobile phone can turn this hot). I used it a few times to go to a city 80km and after reaching, when i touched the phone for turning off the navigation, it was really hot. The screen stopped responding to my touch, and I had to cool it in front of the AC for a few mins before it became responsive again. (My guess: the program stresses the processor to near max capacity all the time)
I tried the same distance with nokia drive, and everything was normal. There was only slight heat production (I guess because of the screen turned on for so long), but nothing like when I have navigon on.
Does anyone else has this problem, or am I the only one?
Any reply would be helpful.
Thanks.

I have the last version of Maps installed.
But my S2 isn´t capable to locate me correctly.
The blue arrow is jumping allow my city.
An a moment mark correctly but and time later again meters of distance.
With 3G, WiFi and GPS. I tests all posibilities.
I know the s1 had the same problem.
It´s my phone bad?
The strange is, Sygic Aura works fine...
If you are indoors it can be difficult for the phone to get gps connect, try outside .
What's the best offline turn-by-turn navigation (for western europe?) are there any free programs? Are they any good or do you need a paid program if so which one?
you can find free programs online that provide navigation, it is the usage of the maps that can cost you money wither you buy them or they use data online.
I want to use it to go on holiday, so I need offline. I would also like traffic and speed control info and maybe use it on my bicycle too.
I like Navigon, but it kills the battery. Sometimes even when charging the battery still drops, then the next minute it charges. Really weird ... and yes I use the original Samsung Car Charger.
Still despite that, Navigon never let me down.
Sygic for me, working perfectly since a recent update - was good before, but occasionally a little buggy. Maps aren't cheap though.
CoPilot is yet another offline GPS .

I like Navigon too since we dont't have TomTom on Android. But Navigon has to have Data connection on to be able to start.
I use IGo MyWay MotoNav edition. Works nice on SGS2 and without data.
hi,
back in winmo (from android) and i want to run tomtom with gps on (obviously) but flight mode with phone and bt off to save battery.
i remember i could do this on my old kaiser but cannot see how to do it on the HD2.
i need a GPS Toggle or something like...
By definition flight mode turns off all wireless protocols including GPS. What you need is a utility to selectively enable/disable the various wireless features. This free one here will do that for you:
http://bandswitch.en.softonic.com/pocketpc
Op how did the bandswitch go?
how is the TomTom Vs GarminXT ? are you able to rotate screen on TomTom? Im using GXT works awesome only con is the screen cant rotate and XT cant voice announce speed cameras.
cheers
GPS & flight mode

Hello. I constantly use IGO Primo when my HTC Hd2 in the mode of "flight mode". Possibly does a problem hide in the programs of Tomtom, Garmin?
i have iGO also and that is able to turn on the GPS as needed.
just tomtom that cannot. i only use gps in portrait mode, i cant see the need for landscape.
@patcooke: i will check out that program. seems like that just turns off the phone, as opposed to just turning on the gps
not tried Garmin XT as i dont think they have Middle East maps (I am in Dubai)
i only keep winmo on the HD2 for the GPS. cant bear to lose the investment i have in the maps.
iGO can use the same maps as android but is a mere shadow of the winmo version
HI all
I am after some advice on my new phone, this phone is excellent apart from when I try to use the sat nav, it keeps loosing the signal and when it does work it tends to show me driving off the road, I have tried a number of the GPS tools in the play store. When I run these these show me all is good so I switch to the sat nav software waze in my case then within a few hundred meters it looses the gps if I then switch to one of these GPS tools they show no fix on the satellites but then quickly get the gps back I switch to the sat nav and the process starts all over again.
I know nothing about phones such as flashing rom and stuff that I have read elsewhere I just use them and wondered if anyone has any ideas or tutorials they can point me to or is this part of the device just really bad.
Thanks
Ian
So everytime I open Maps or Waze to help me navigate. It always keeps searching for gps, and it will not navigate without gps. Also , my location in both apps are completely wrong. I'm very sure that I've turned on gps in settings. Is it a software problem?
I have had the GPS problem from day one and have never found a solution; I have tried every suggestion located. It is extremely frustrating when I am trying to get somewhere and it has me driving circles: telling me to turn around, stating to turn early (or late), constantly recalculating, etc.
The map shows I am close to where I actually am, but it is off just enough to cause an issue. When I am in my home it shows I am actually up in some farmer's corn field rather than my subdivision. When I drive it shows I am driving through fields rather than on the road.
Im really upset because Ive had returned the mobile 2 times to the store because the GPS problem. Every damn Xperia XA ultra starts working great with the GPS and after 6 months or so it becomes to stop working. Ive used the app GPS test and it shows that the phone wouldn't connect to any Satellite signals. Then I try GPS test in my GF smartphone (Samsung J5 prime) and it connects to 20 or more satellites.
Did you find a solution?
