I have a AT&T I717, but don't like the AT&T ICS since I cannot use tethering with Bell network. I am not sure if there is any chance to install Bell official ICS on it. I tried Kies on download mode, but if I input my sn and model number SGH-I717M, it always pops up an error message. I am not sure if the OTA works. Do you guys have similar experiences? Thanks.

If you have a AT&T i717 chances are you will not get office Bell ICS. There are a few way of getting tethering to work, BTW.
1) Flash official AT&T ICS, use tethering app like FoxFi
2) Flash official AT&T ICS, root it, use hacks such as Ultracfg trick
3) obviously, flash custom ROMs
4) Wait until devs use Canadian ROMs as base*
* P.S. Not seeing that happen soon though since folks already on LF5 or LF6 but Canadian ROMs (at least for Bell) is only on LF4.
You can use TELUS Stock ICS;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1771979
There is NO carrier bloat at all on TELUS ICS.
Much appreciated, guys. I will try the Telus ROM first.
After using odlin to flash boot and system, system halts on Telus LTE page.
No idea if it's caused by AT&T modem because I did not flash it yet.
Anyway, go back to AT&T official ROM and use FoxFi now.

Hey everyone,
A while back I rooted my device, but I was not able to install a recovery so I eventually gave up, but my device is still rooted.
Long story short, now I want my S3 unrooted, but here's the kicker.
I bought my S3 in Canada with Rogers as my carrier. But shortly after that, I moved to the states and I signed up for att, popped a new SIM card in my S3, and changed my WAP settings so it would work with att. But since I bought it in Canada with Rogers as my carrier, when I unroot my device, would the process be specific to Rogers Canada, or Att USA?.
Also a side note, when I installed the stock ROM through Odin, the rogers version worked, and att did not.
My model number is the i747m
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
You can download the stock rom for rogers i747m and reflash that with odin:

I have the Samsung Galaxy S II i9100M, which is the Bell Mobility (Canada) variant. Same hardware as the i9100 and capable of running roms for the international version; only difference is the crapload of bloatware Bell Mobility had installed on it.
Though a Canadian phone, the phone worked well using a T-Mobile SIM here in the US. After tinkering with Odin and a couple of ROMs I flashed the phone from a stock Gingerbread ROM to a leaked version of Samsung's 4.2 Jellybean ROM, made for the i9100, a couple months before the update on Kies was ready. Unfortunately, I sim-locked the phone, the cause I assume is a missing CSC file.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I have been told already by one phone unlocking company that to restore the CSC file I have to flash a new one. Will I have to flash a ROM with the proper CSC file then have someone unlock the device with a sim unlock code or can I just flash a CSC no sim-unlock needed? I NEED HELP PLEASE!!! I screwed up, and it's really annoying having a smartphone that works for everything but making phone calls or texting (the irony).

Hi all,
So, following snickler's excellent instructions in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2401226
I was able to get my AT&T Lumia 920 up and running on the Rogers official GDR2/Amber ROM with no trouble. Everything's great.
I'm curious (as I'm sure many others are) whether or not anyone has had any luck with moving from the official Rogers GDR2/Amber ROM to the official AT&T GDR2/Amber ROM that was released yesterday.
I've tried flashing the AT&T GDR2/Amber ROM directly over the Rogers ROM I'm running (using NCS), but no luck (invalid product/FFU), and I've also tried flashing back to the AT&T Pre-Portico ROM, but also no luck there (same product/FFU error).
The official Rogers GDR2/Amber ROM is still RM-820, same as AT&T.
Not a huge deal, since the Rogers ROM is great, but it would be nice to know if someone was able to find a way to get back on the AT&T ROM.
Cheers

I'm currently on the ATT Dev Rom, which is great, but was looking to go back to the ATT standard ROM, but have not been able to. My phone won't detect any available update, and NCS gives me the FFU error when trying to flash to it from the DEV ROM.
From the other threads, it was impossible to go back to an ATT standard ROM pre-amber. I got a feeling this may still be the case. I'm not sure if or what I'm missing on the DEV ROM other than some of the "official ATT" apps, but I think I can download those from the store anyways.
I do have data sense, at a glance, and most of the other amber upgrades.

I've tried multiple ways and can't go back to stock ATT. Oh well, the Rogers ROM works great with only one exception, I can't get tethering to work. It tells me there is no data connection available when I DO have data, strange.
Hey guys. I couldn't get AT&T to unlock my s3 so I downgraded to android 4.1.1 to do the free unlocking method. It worked, but my phone has AT&T apps in it, and when updating it says crap like updating from AT&T server or w/e.
When using ODIN, was I supposed to install the AT&T or the T-Mobile version of the 4.1.1 android?
I figured since it's an at&t phone I have to reinstall the at&t so it doesnt mess up the drivers or anything (I totally made up that conclusion myself).
Also, I don't get 4g LTE now and only get E internet. Do I have to do some settings so the phone cooperates with T-Mobile?
As always, thank you very much for the helping hands.

You're probably going to need to setup the apns for Tmobiles network to work for your phone fully.
It automatically made one called tmobile but I dont know if I have to edit it.
Was I supposed to install android 4.1.1 for at&t or tmobile?

As far as i know you should be fine on the at&t rom, You're just going to need to edit those apns probably.

Well, how about this? I install the T-Mobile rom. Shouldn't that have the proper apns?
Now another question comes to mind. Since this is originally an at&t phone, will installing the T-Mobile rom mess it up?
Anyone? Help plz
I recently unlocked and rooted my AT&T Galaxy S5 to use on T-Mobile network. However I still have AT&T firmware on the phone, and I'd really like to flash cyanogenmod, or at at the very least stock T-Mobile. Is there any way to do this? Thanks in advance!

Don't know if there is a Cyogenmod available for your model (SM-G900A) but there is an AllianceRom which is built off the T-mobile SM-G900T firmware which will work on the AT&T S5. However, since that version of the S5 has a locked bootloader you will need to use Safestrap Recovery instead of TWRP. You might want to look among the threads in the AT&T S5 area of this forum for more information and maybe ask your question there. I brought my unlocked AT&T S5 over to T-mobile and used it for a few months before getting a T-mobile S5. AT&T stock s5 firmware worked fine. I also did try out AllianceRom on that phone briefly but stick with stock. I don't think rom slots ever got fixed on Safestrap so only the stock rom slot could be used for flashing which is one of the reasons I chose to stick with stock on that phone.
