Hi all,
I am pretty sure that in ICS when a calendar event had a registered location, you could click on the location triggering the maps app to show you where it is on the map. I've noticed that in Jelly Bean this link was disappeared. The location is shown under the title of the event but you can't click to view it on the map. Is this happening to your phones too?
Samsung Galaxy Nexus, stock OTA 4.1.1, UK.
Thanks

I'm on Nexus 7 by Asus, it came with Stock Android 4.1 Jellybean and has been upgraded a couple times now to OTA 4.1.1
As far as ICS goes, I can't comment, I own a Galaxy Note which is heavily modded by Touchwiz.
But Nexus 7, loving it so far. Love the voice assistant, cause it works.
I had the same concern as above, the calendar and map seems to be missing the integration between, Maps and latitude. I would love to be able to specify "Work" or "Home" or things off "My Places" when making Calendar entries( i.e. Meeting at 1:00 pm at work with <Contact>. This would really help especially with Google Now, where it can see where your next appointment is at so it can route you the right way. It would be even better if you can dictate this and it will integrate with Gmail to send out invites if you are the organizer. Has anybody figured out the keywords to have Jelly Bean Voice Search to make calendar entries? I can only get it to make Alarms.
I just noticed this also since upgrading my Galaxy Nexus to Jelly Bean. Not happy about that.
Clearly a bug here.
I reset my device and set up my accounts and the links were there and working. After a reboot it dissapears. Hope this gets fixed quickly, it's annoying.

I'm having the same issue. Updated my Galaxy Nexus to 4.1.1 (rooted, getting updates from directly from Google).
I thought I must have been going mad. I've reset / wiped the phone a couple of times now, slowly reinstalling one app at a time, and then suddenly BOOM - the location links are gone.
Good to see now that I am not the only one.
Update:
The Android bug register has some discussion on this. Google android issues 34759 and you'll find the link (I'm a noob on XDA and it won't let me post links)

Unhappy with Samsung's stock ICS version, I moved on to a CyanogenMod9 nightly build for my SGS2 - an admittedly risky thing to do on April 1st - which proves fantastically stable and fast.
However, when I installed the Facebook app (painstakingly: I'm in China), I found that the option to sync and merge contacts is gone. From the app, but also from the Accounts and Sync option in Android's settings. It still says "Facebook" under the accounts that I can add, but nothing happens when tapped.
I wiped and re-installed everything, but to no avail. The setting is no longer there and I cannot sync my Facebook contact details with my existing contact list.
Any ideas what I can do about this?
Having the same issue, with the Galaxy S2 on a nightly 9
Facebook must update their API.

so it's a matter of waiting? Is this a new thing in Android 4.04 or does it relate to cm9?
Stumbled here after noticing the same thing on my Photon with Jokersax CM9 Kang (Android 4.0.4) installed. As its my first Photon custom ROM I can't say its a CM9 thing or a 4.0.4 thing.
It does work ok on my Epic 4G Touch with Samsung FC24 leak which is 4.0.3 and NOT CM9.
I'm on 4.0.4 (CM9) and it is not working for me either. The only workaround I know of is using the app "HaxSync," which syncs the contacts for you.

This option was removed from android AOSP by default due to Google not agreeing with FB privacy policy. The only way is to use an app to do it. It is not a Samsung ICS issue it is an Android AOSP thing.
Not sure if that is true since it is still working on AOKP's last buid (4.0.4)

See AOKP is not pure AOSP.
Here is a link that began talking about this way back on 2.3.3

yeah - it's a Facebook v Google thing, not a software fault.
Friendcaster fixes it for you.
Is there any more info on this issue? Or is it never going to be resolved due to Google / Facebook differences. Find it amusing that Google have problems with Facebook's privacy given ether recent changes Google have made
Ah
Had the same problem. Uninstall and reinstall fixed it. It doesn't care for restores from backups evidently.

Been having similar problems on Jellybean for HTC DESIRE HD. Thanks for the tip. Friendcaster, indeed, does fix the problem and is quite a nice FB app in its own right!
This one works fine on ICS and JB. You can choose pic sizes up to 720x720.
does this Friendcaster application syncs numbers ? or just photos ?
You can always use a modified ContactsProvider.apk to allow facebook sync.

That's normal when You don't use stock based ROM.
Just download app called SYNC.ME from market or use app "contactive".
Hello all. I could really use some help organizing my life and Google Now isn't helping like I thought it would.
First of all, I'm running the latest AOKP by Task with the stock CM kernel (latest update). Jellybean is great and all but I always thought Google now would allow me to set appointments and the like with voice, but it's not working. Google Now is completely configured on my phone like it should, I have followed several guides just in case, and none of the cards ever show up. Furthermore, I am unable to set appointments to my google calendar which is synced. It'd be really nice to be able to use Google Now, especially the appointments. Can anybody help me figure out why it won't work? Thanks everyone

This might be a remedial question but xda search is down. The calendar sync option is missing in settings (email and contacts are there). Calendar app is installed. I reloaded my account twice and the same issue is occurring on the harmony and smoother jb roms. There was a gapps fix last year of sure if that is applicable anyone have any ideas? Also how does one get google now to recognize the location settings permit location sharing? The g tablet now lives on the wall by the front door, simple dream of seeing my calendar the weather notifications and traffic on the way out the door.
Thanks in advance!

Here is nobe1976's response related to Google Calendar Sync from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1900562&page=95
GoogleCalendarsync.apk is not installed along with the Calender app itself. Unzip any gapps for jellybean and you can install them manually by placing the app into /system/apps followed by a reboot right after.
Hope this helps
"Sorry for the late reply but check out the 2nd post here 2nd Post.
As for the battery icon that is normal on all ICS and JB builds. It is not in the Android System, but in the current kernel we are using. Wiping Battery Stats will not help it. There are actually some people that have there icons stay at 100% and some that stay at 0%. Those are just a handfull of devices we are aware of there might be more. Hopfully all that will change with a new boot.img update as soon as it gets released by fosser2."
Herewith quoting nobe1976's latest note related to the issue.

Okay, so i was browsing the google play store on my computer, when i stumbled upon the facebook home app. i wanted to see some screenshots of the app, so i clicked on it. to my surprise, under the install button, it said that one of my devices is compatible with the app.

that can’t be? I thought facebook home was only for the Samsung Galaxy S III, Samsung Galaxy Note II, HTC first, HTC One X and HTC One X+. Weird. Whenever i get ungrounded, i plan on installing my jelly bean ROMs to my mesmerize and testing to see which one facebook home works on. i have registered my phone multiple times on my google account under different roms, as you can see. there’s also Gateway NV-52, which is my laptop, that i booted android 4.2.2 on. I’ve only used about 3 jelly bean ROMs, and one 2.3.7 based ROM. i’ll get back to you after the testing. Facebook Home’s specifications also state that you must have android 4.0 and up, so i suspect the 2.3.7 ROM won’t work, so i’ll save it for last.

I tried it out a ways back when home was released. Didnt give it a long tryout but kinda was overwelming at first lol With your fb messages, chat, and your texts comming in all through facebook. I love my messaging and set up currently to leave it at this time. Which I know your able to turn off/pn and change different settings but was lagging down my phone at the time. Just didnt wanna deal with it I suppose but maybe try it out down the line again, sure much had already changed since when i tried it out. The patched/unlocked versions are suppose to work with all devices, Just requires Android ICS 4.0 or higher of course and your good to go. I used theos0o'd since I use a few of his other modded apps and know his stuff is good. Links below for anyone wanting to check it out or for future reference. :silly:

I have a Nexus 5, unmodified and unrooted on 4.4.4
I disabled background data recently because I was running out.
I noticed that the Google Now Launcher had a "No Internet Connection" box even when connected to home Wi-Fi.
I re-enabled background data and pulled down to refresh.
I now have no cards at all, when there were previously some old ones.
I have cleared data and cache of both Google Now Launcher and Google Search.
I have rebooted multiple times.
I have uninstalled updates and reinstalled updates for both Google Now Launcher and Google Search.
I don't know what to do at this point, other than a full device reset.
I am facing the same issue since morning
You can try deleting the home network and then reconnecting to it.

I'm having the same issues.. But remember, people were having this issue after last year's Google IO.
It's definitely an issue on Google's end. I'm having problems on both my Nexus 5 and iPad Mini...
Yeah, tried everything but still no luck. I wish google sends an update
I have the same problem on Nexus 4, (4.4.4). I hope Google will fix this issue soon.
I know its not a wrong thread to ask but I am facing this issue whenever I recieve call and using the phone, no option comes up to accept or reject plus navigation bar also hides. Can anyone please suggest me whats the issue. Have searched other threads but no luck.
Hi guy i can help you
Try to change/modify the Kernel ROM, or even change your Smartphone if you are under warranty
I have tried stock, franco nd elementalx.. In all three issue persists.
Has anyone tried a full device reset?
I got some cards. When I pull to reset, I get "no internet connection again."
Forgetting and reconnecting to the Wi-fi had no effect.
I'm having the same problem with my N5. Some searching seems to indicate that it may be due to Google Now's new "Google Now Everywhere" option, only officially available on the L preview, but unofficially by a hack here:https://plus.google.com/+AdamLawrence/posts/46A68S7Dytb
I installed the L preview and played with it for a few hours and enabled the "Google Now Everywhere" option, which I assume toggles some setting at Google, so that's probably how it happened for me.
Did anyone else try the L preview or use the hack above?

I used the hack, but Google Now Everywhere is supposedly rolling out to KitKat devices too with the latest update. But with the above person seeing an issue on an iPad tells me it's on Google's end.

I haven't used any hacks at all. I think the Google Now Everywhere thing might be it. Can someone link to what it's about? I haven't found anything specific by googling.

The latest version of Google Search, 3.5.14, has the OK Google Everywhere thing. If you're not on that version, I don't think it'd be what's causing the connection issue.

Hello.
Any updates or ideas about this error?
I have a device suffering this same. But by having installed CM11/12 all the time never experienced until go back to stock Motorola. Just to sold it and see the new owner told me about the problem, wanting to have his money back.
Version 4.2.x and lowers are working. Once the phone installs last 4.3.x or 4.4.x the problem starts.
Yes......This seems to be a bug.
I'm using Google Now with android 4.4.4, same issue.
