[Script] XperiaHomeManager.sh for SONY ICS ROMs - Xperia Arc Themes and Apps

XperiaHomeManager.sh by Adrian DC : http://arcsgatebyadriandc.comze.com/ics_xperiahomemanager.html
Useful with : [Application] HomeCustomizer for SONY ICS ROMs
The script will allow you to manage the Xperia Home Datas :
Backup, Restore, Clear, Fix problems such as 5x4 Apptray and remaining desktops.
As always, SManager (ScriptManager) is needed in order to run the script.
Unlike Titanium Backup, I got the script to restore the Home screen properly, even the Widgets !
If you loose the Home Datas after a reboot, please contact me directly,
I know how to fix it but I'll need specific infos on your files. Don't worry, I'll help you.
Bye !

Thanks !
Thing is, I hope it'll work for everyone because the Home identifier might be different for some...
Therefore, I'd like people to confirm it's working, and if not, please give me all infos
you can get (owner, permissions) on the "/data/data/com.sonyericsson.home" folder.
Bye !

So I'm a bit confused with the description... Does it allow the modification of the stock launcher or it's a tool to fix errors and/or create backups?

As described, the purpose of this script simply is to backup, restore, clean and fix the Home Datas.
To mod the Home, see HomeCustomizer.
Bye!
Envoyé depuis mon Xperia Arc S.

anyone can tell me how the home customizer??
I run it on the pc, I choose the options you want, ends. and then what????
thanks and great job!!!!!!!!!!

What doesn't work?
Backup, then clean, then restore works fine?
Is only Fixer not working?
Envoyé depuis mon Xperia Arc S.

With all the good reviews I have via pm or EMails,
I'm glad to say the XperiaHomeManager.sh works fine
and still is compatible with the .587 ROM !
It now is part of the CustomChangesMenu.sh.

what to do?
when i tried to run this script i get this message ".sh[30] : grep: not found
please run this script with SManager as Root"
my 5x4 app tray only allow 4x4. when i try to drag another icon down to the 5th row, it doesn't work.

the file is correct but it's still not doing it
1. I get to the location of the script
2. I then press it and this screen comes up
3. I then press Run and this comes up (note: I do have the script app running in root. The app prompted me to run it in root at the start of the app)
what can I do?

Probably comes from a non working root, make sure it's rooted. It's SuperUser confirming the su to be working?

Yep it's rooted
I made sure to allow the script app root access
i don't know how to confirm with SuperUser though

Ahh did u try it? ye im gonna check that out .
great idea (I usually just use bluetooth to push the apk to the phone then install it from the task bar (no need for a file explorer on the phone then)
but installing over USB is nice however I think there are a few windows apps that can do this allready, like ADB mask controller, you can install/deinstall apps from both user and system and change user apps to system apps and visa versa.... as well as changing framework and performing other modifications..
Still, there is something to be said about having a program that does one thing and one thing well.. (instead of a complicated jack of all trades app)
you should still have the option to install to system or install as a user app tho.
Nice work.
Kiwi
nice!
how about someday u make script to do batch install, it will help us if we need to reflash our phone and reinstall apps...
so we dont need titanium backup anymore, just one click then all of apps reinstall to our phone...

Easiest way would be to make a xrecovery full backup then just do a custom restore of Data when you want your apps back. (that will put your apps and settings back without touching System files)
Kiwi
Tested
Tested it with Xperia X8 (the tiny one)
Was using windows 7 64bit
Works perfectly. Great work mate.

Not working for me. It says "file already installed" even if it's not. I just flashed my phone and wanted to install ES File Explorer, and it says that file is already installed.
Update: Nevermind, it turned out that filename MUST NOT have spaces. Everything is working now. Amazing piece of software btw. Thanks.
I use myphoneexplorer. You manger your phone as data as well as apps. To upload from cumputer just connect the phone (via bluetooth, wifi or usb cable) and right click on apk file and select upload to phone. Thats it.

Hi, thanks for the rom! Silly question - how do I flash the .zip file? Do I have to rename it to update.zip and then install from sd card in the recovery mode?
No, you don't need to. You can use the recovery to install the file from any location.
I'd just like to let you know, DSP Manager works out-of-box on stock SE without replacing audio libs.

Thanks. I've managed to flash the new ROM. Get past the boot screen thinking all good until I get this message: "Sorry! The Application HTC_IME mod (process jonasl.img) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." Force Close.
I've installed the compatible kernel so not sure what's gone wrong here.
All I can do is power down the device, no access to menus etc
Any advice please?
Seems like the keyboard is giving you flak. OP, did you test it?

It's not a question of compatibility, it also gave that error on other phones where I also made the rom (lg optimus dual) I repeat that mistake it to be 'only immediately after the first flash ROM, tested and running perfectly

You will get a FC on first boot with the HTC_IME mod. It's only because there is no data folder associated with it. It will FC and create it's own data

Hi, thanks for all the replies regarding this issue but reboot hasn't helped.
I've rebooted it about 5 times so it's not a first boot issue. I'll try leaving it running for a while, as you mentioned it might create the file structure etc.. will let you know how I get on.

Tried that mate, no joy I can't get no apps up, can get into the keyboard settings by holding one of the hard keys then selecting the settings icon.
Should I reflash the kernel perhaps and then reflash the ROM?

What I want to tell my friend, try to flash the kernel first and then flash the rom;-) I recommend you wipe the three usual
No luck I'm afraid, will keep exploring!
Quick question, will this rom work on a R800a?
Thanks, I have a little experience with flashing android phones and the iPhone. I don't have that much concrete knowledge of the "in's & out's" of the phone but I'm very good at following directions to the "T"...
Thank you very much. Looking forward to your rom

[Q] Application Menu Re-Arranges

Hi All. I uninstalled some of SE bloatware and now whenever I restart my phone, I have some "Application Windows" with 2-3 application and rest of that window is empty. Even if I manually move icons from one window to another to make that window full, after restart, again icon rearranges and some of window is partially filled.
How to get rid of this problem. I own a SE Neo V and used Titanium Backup to uninstall the bloatware.

s3 widgets

Hi, anyone knows how I can get widgets from galaxy s3 to my mobile (SE Xperia mini pro - sk17i)?
Yes, you can.
Search for a galaxy s3 rom, and then extract it.
Search for the widgets' apk files, and extract them, too.
Port them to MDPI resolution, then modify them to work on Sony phones and tada... IT'S DONE!
Maybe it sounds easy but it takes a LOT OF TIME...

File TouchWiz50LauncherM2OD. Apk I moved in with exploer root system / app and put in when I wanted to install the application was unsuccessful (the app is not installed). I gave permissions and zaškrtnul. After rebooting, nothing is ever discovered (via inserting widgets or click through the house). I tried to reinstall over exploer root, and wrote it again, but all is not installed. Finally, I have tried to set permissions checked in the first column and the second column only the first or nothing (just like having another application in a folder). I restart again, but again nothing (in widgets choose or click through the home key, with root exploer : application is not installed) any help?

[MOD][ANY PHONE] LongPress Volume to Skip tracks

Since there are many people asking for this mod which is available on CM9/10, I was searching a bit and finally got it working. It works on any ICS/JB rom but I havent tried on GB. Thanks to rovo89 and stole38. Make sure you are following all steps correctly because if not, your phone will be stuck in a bootloop. OK, here we go ! :fingers-crossed:
Requirements:
1) Root
2) init.d Support
3) Brain
Installation:
1. Download this APK file and install it on your phone (Xposed Installer) HERE
2. Download this second app and install it on your phone (Xposed Tweakbox) HERE
3. Open the Xposed Installer and press Install/Update. Wait.
4. After installing the framework, press Soft Reboot. The phone will reboot and might boot longer than usual, dont panic
5. After the phone has rebooted, open the Xposed Installer again and go to the Modules tab.
6. Check Xposed Tweakbox. And exit the Xposed Installer.
7. Open the Xposed Tweakbox app and choose Miscellaneous from the menu.
8. Check Skip tracks with volume keys
9. Exit the application and reboot the phone
10. Enjoy !
NOTE: It works only when the screen is off (locked).
Thanks lot, I'll try it

So here it is
Init.d plays an important role in the world of Android development and customization It allows users to install scripts and mods to be run at boot—everything from battery tweaks to performance tweaks. It essentially opens the door to a world of mods only possible through the Init.d process, which in turn is usually only available on custom kernels.

Great..!! Working on Xperia Sola.
One Question. If I uncheck this tweak in the Tweakbox app and enable some other tweak. Will i still get bootloops?
