I Bricked my Player - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

In an attempt to restore my player I flashed over a pit file from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1389873 (Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0) and re-flash the TerraSilent Kernel simultaneously. Now the device can only boot into recovery and it shows a bunch of can't mount errors. Is there any hope for my player?

Download a new ROM, put it on your SD and reflash from recovery (do a full wipe). If you can reach recovery you're fine.

If that doesn't work you may have to do a little adb but I doubt it.
Do a full wipe (cache, delvic and factory) and flash a stock rooted ROM.

When using a pit, you MUST use a full recovery image, else partitions are messed up/not created, and the device will not boot. Head on over to the full recovery thread and get the necessary file from there, then flash it with a pit file. If you must, you can use an intl recovery for a us device, but your boot loader may be replaced with the intl one (maybe), preventing you from accessing recovery or download by a button combination. You will also hve to flash a us rom+kernel with a full wipe to get the home button working again.

Is it a US or Int player. I believe you should be still be able to get into download mode If you can get into download mode (hold volume up + power button). Then simply flash a the .tar file with odin that is stock. It is found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1512331. :fingers-crossed:

[Q] Bricked Galaxy Player 4, have download mode available

Hello everyone. I bricked my US Galaxy Player 4.0 after trying to install a certain ROM for it.
i visited this page:

for the stock rom and tried to flash the PIT file along with a ROM's PDA file. All i keep getting when i try to reboot it is the Samsung logo followed by the image i'm going to attach to this.
I can get into download mode and everything, i think it's just a matter of having the right files to flash, etc. Can anyone help me out?

follow the proper instructions in that link with the proper files for the US version, when using those files to recover you use Heimdall not ODIN, also make you have a good backup of your EFS.tar or you'll be like me after screwing around with the CM7 beta's and not have a lockscreen or powermenu.
Simple flashing the PIT and the "stock" .tar via Odin will NOT work, I assume your trying to use Odin because you say "with a ROM's PDA file" and there is no PDA box if you are doing what that link says to do for the US version.
That's exactly how I bricked my Galaxy Player 4. Except that I can't enter recovery or download mode. I have to enter download mode with Adam's Resurrector. I used Heimdall with those files and I keep getting error: failed to receive response. So I have no way to revive my player.

yea, he should do it at first after flashing right kernel and rom, factory reset, format cache, clean dalvik and fix permissions, if not through CWM, just manualy (adb console)
Mine is hard bricked, but I can still get into download mode with the resurrector. But when I try to flash the correct rom and kernel, I get the following error in Heimdall: "kernel upload failed", anyone how to fix this?
Thats just soft bricking ur fine go back to stock start over find the stock tar files

If you have the stock Rom flash it via Odin.
Cwm sometimes mounts the external sd card but sometimes doesn't.. don't know how it is for others but it isn't working properly for me.
Go to mount and storage in Cwm for mounting sdcard.

I removed the battery because it was not charging and I thought I won't can flash any rom with the battery low,so I will seek more advices before turning it back on,so..
Wipe removed all my files, including stock rom,but I don't know if volume down + power + home button will work.Well I went into choose zip from sdcard and they all were there,I ran super wipe as it was said in the flash tutorial and it deleted almost everything,I am stuck into recovery and I cannot enter sdcard because there are no files anymore, such as the rom needed to be flashed.
If I mount sdcard n the mount and storage in cwm will windows explorer be able to put the rom back there? So i can flash it with.
update: volume down+home+power works perfectly, should I flash the rom with odin directly? the sdcard is empty too.

I will flash stock rom then I will try again to do android revolution hd 2.2.0 ( the step I missed is about creating a virtual ssd )
I will come with an update if the flash stock rom through odin works.
Checkrom comes in two versions, one is Odin flashable, flash that.then u are rooted after flashing
Next time u use superwipe remember to move the rom to EXTERNAL SD-card ,because internal SD-card is wiped.
Weird..odin exits after a while it says Please wait then it quits, while trying to flash stock rom, what's the problem?
I found a way to put the rom back there, but it is in sdcard, and I cannot enter it ( cannot mount )
How can I solve this from the recovery mode? I am still stuck in recovery mode or download mode..and the rom is on the card now,but cannot access to flash it with cwm
Why do not you just boot?
Previous rom is there but wiped and restored.
I do not think that superwipe was made to empty system from the rom.

The rom had to be put on a virtual/external sdcard, but because I didn't read carefully I put it on sdcard aslong with superwipe,so after I launched superwipe it deleted the sdcard files and the stock OS too,so it just says samsung galaxy siii like before it boots, but it stays that way..
I don't know how to get into the sdcard, cwm recovery says it cannot mount it,sdcard contains my rom,and because I cannot access it,I cannot flash it..I need a way to help cwm to mount sdcard,so I can flash it from there..
Otherwise I tried flashing stock rom but odin crashes, like I press start, then it says check md5 then Please wait,it gets stuck and quits..

Then i need to tell you that you must flash through Odin a full rom then reroot and then flash again a custom rom of your choice.
Just make sure every time you flash with Odin nothing from Kies runs in the background. Otherwise Odin flash will fail or stuck.

Full recovery for YP-G70 (US 5.0)?

Hey guys,
I have a Galaxy Player 5.0 (US edition, capacitative buttons) and it decided to just stop booting one morning. I was running version 1.4 of this custom rom. I'm only able to enter download mode, and can't even get to the Samsung logo. After trying various methods and trying to flash different bootloaders/PIT files/ROMs with ODIN, I'm back to where I started.
Is there any set of bootloader/PIT/ROM files that I can use to flash with ODIN to get my Galaxy player up and running again? All of the older download links on this forum seem to be dead ends.
Thanks!
Hey. I was up to the point where my device was hard bricked. Wouldn't go into download mode. So. First: Get boot loaders. Those can be found in AdamOutlers thread of the UnBrickableMod somewhere in the dev forum here. Next, flash Entropy512's Kernal, make sure auto reboot is OFF and re partition is off too. For flashing both boot loader and kernal. Then flash a stock gingerbread rom. Then unplug, reboot into recovery and wipe cache and dalvik cache. Then you SHOULD be fine and booted into stock. Then download your rom again and re flash. Any trouble, let me know bud.

After finding the right stuff and flashing it (and making sure I had a pretty good charge in my player), I was able to get into recovery, wipe, and reboot into stock! Thanks! A couple of things I've noticed:
Battery indication doesn't work (even when I turn it off and charge; still thinks it's at zero battery all of the time)
Capacitative buttons work, but won't light up.
Would putting on a different ROM fix any of these issues?
Try to wipe battery stats in recovery and for buttons maybe rom you flashed was for international

Long story short: Used Odin to flash something, and it stalled, so i unplug the phone and it soft bricked. I can access Downloading Mode (Vol down + Home button + Power button). Can anyone help? Download the stock firmware for your phone and flash it through Odin. As long as you can get into download mode then it should be okay. Or you could flash a kernel with a custom recovery then boot into the recovery and flash a ROM.

[Q] Stuck on boot logo - GALAXY Pocket Neo GT-S5310 - Can't access recovery mode

Hi
I have a Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo GT-S5310...
The sad thing is that, a while ago it stopped working and now it's stuck on the boot screen (Samsung GALAXY POCKET Neo GT-S5310)
I have tried to perform a factory reset through the built-in recovery mode (volume up + home + power), but unfortunately, I couldn't access the recovery mode and the phone goes directly to the boot screen.
And since the only thing I could do was accessing the Download Mode, so I tried to recover it by installing an official firmware with Odin3_v3.07... but it didn't solve the problem...
So what would you guys suggest?
can't delete this reply... could an admin please do it?

After flashing recovery with odin I am still stuck at the S5310 Neo splash screen unable to boot into recovery. Has this maybe got something to do with a conflict between android versions? As the S3510i comes with 4.4.2 stock, not 4.1.2.
