And here we go again with "best" threads.
Now 4,5 people will come, state their best kernels, and you will be again on the start, not knowing which on is best.
2 users can use same kernel, and one of them can have problems, not because of kernel, and he will tell you that its bad, while actually it's not.
Do yourself a favor and test them, learn something new.
Good luck

i am using suave-kernel-v5-exp-neov very battery friendly and every thing working fine!!

[Q] When someone calls, they can't hear me.

Whenever someone calls me, they say "hello" and I reply but they can't hear me. It doesn't happen ALL the time but MOST of the time. It is annoying, anyone having this problem, have solutions for it?
Running Latest AOKP.
Which kernel are you using with this rom ?
The problem you facing can arise if you are using a non-mswap version of Siyah/neak kernel as we need to use the mswap version only for AOKP/CM9 based roms ..
I faced the same issue when I didn't read the OP of the siyah kernel and flashed the wrong one over paranoid ..
Hope this helps !!!

I think there is a seperate post under Android development section for all modems released till now.. IMO uckk6 and uckh7 r best.. Also consider trying anther kernel if this doesn't help..
Best of luck !!!

Hi the modems you suggested are gingerbread modems if im not wrong (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1336958) but i'm on ICS.
Unless here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1361393, "Modems For Samsung Based ROMs" work with AOKP?

You have some reading to do.
There is no difference GB/ICS modem.
all modems will work for you, and you would need an AOSP flashable zip in order to flash if you are running AOKP....
there ya go. Spoonfeeding complete for today.

Just got S3! Now, What should I do ?

hey guys. I used XPlay a lot of. Now, what should I do to my S3. I want long battery life and good performance ( like all s3 users ^^ )
Which Roms, kernels should I use ? Or Should I use stock ? Aand, How can I unlock my bootloder ? ( What this action in Samsung development, s-off, or something like this ? )
Thanks and Hello to everyone !
unlike sony phone ... u just need to root ur samsung phone
theres nothing like unlocking bootloader thing to do in samsung
for best performance i will say u stay with default stock rom
just root it with cwm by chainfire v1.5
and that should be all

You don't need to flash a kernel, just stick with the default and stock rom.
I used to have a Samsung Captivate and flashed the hell out of that phone just coz out of the box it was pretty crap but this phone is so great on stock that all I've done is root. Haven't even bothered putting CWM on it.
Oh, and hi also!

Oh its good. I think I just need root. And, I want AOSP look. Is there any theme like this ? ( I asked Kernel question because In Sony, custom kernels have better battery life than stock kernels. So this isn't right in this section. ? Right ? )
yeah i guess dark knight kernal is quite gud
so far devs are making kernals better and better , but its quite a bit time more needed
so fot now i can say cwm 5.5.0.4 v 1.5 by chain fire is best for you
and there roms for that or just go for go launcher it has themes for that looks

question about kernel

If im going to flash new kernel with my custom kernel do i need to wipe something or it will just overwrite on it it and i dont need to wipe?
Thanks for the answer in advance..
Just flash it, don't worry about anything else.
Sometimes there might be scripts in etc/init.d but not usually. Depends on the dev. Some rom devs have scripts there too.

I did flash a new kernel and it works perfect. I think its been overwitten. Thank you bro!
Oh sir one more thing my kernel is siyah s3 v1.4 how can i updATE it to higher version? Do i need to download the new version and just flash it or is there an update button for this and no flashing required? Thanks..
Just download latest version and flash it
just download and flash it
if download .zip version, flash using cwm recovery
.tar version then flash using either pc or mobile odin
Thank you guys!
Dose mobile odin work on the GT-I9300

Siyah is a good well developed kernel , it comes with a configuration app, but the default settings work great....from there is a matter of watching the thread, reading and learning about what all the various tweaks do, usual rules apply,....don't mess with stuff until you understand what you are doing

worried about my phone
Wow, well done, after you bumped 2 threads, not that last post was made more than a year ago, but that have absolutely no relations to your problem, you finally created your thread..
What is that kernel? I searched in dev sections and can't find any kernel with name fusion.
Also, stop and wait, you bumped your own thread after 15 minutes

Well since you yourself know that you are noob, please go and read something about our phones, read some sticky threads..
That kernel is CM10 Based, which is even in thread title, and you flashed it on Sony stock.
