Hey folks...I get both personal and work emails on my o hone that have attachments to them. When I try to open the attachment it says to download the email first. Tried different setting and such...new to the Sammy. Any suggestions thanks

Greetings, if anyone can sort this issue out they really are a GOD. Dont have to do much explaining about the problem as the picture is attached.
Everytime I click on no unread messages and DONT release the stylus immediately, it actually highlights the phrase. Doesnt do it with any other's on the mail page like task or calendar, etc etc..
Check it out in the photograph Ive attached. I thought it was a ROM issue, so I looked and looked for the ASIA ROM 1.60 WWE Ext ROm 1.60.44 and finally found it. I did the re installing of ROM but this still happens. If anyone needs the ASIA version of the ROM let me know Ill send you the link via e mail, however please send me an e mail at

I found that there's some bug on Roms version 1.60wwe, 1.66wwe.
Everytime u store some attachment on ur storage card ur text message.
Try formating ur xda then add sprite backup, backup everything including ur email.And everytime u can't open ur test message just format it then restore ur backup except email box then walla u can open it again.

Instead i can't open my message, i can't sync with my PC either, I try deleting device from PC and my Athena, restart but still no luck.
Any help please.

It might be time for a hard reset. Backup ur files and do a hard reset bud, sorry.
do you have attachments stored on your sdcard? Sometimes if you delete the attachments directory, then the messaging app will open. Then you can sync to reclaim the attachments.
sometimes it also may help to re-create the email account

Yes, i store my message on my SDcard, then i found that the attachment folder is double and also my message folder... but i can't even change email account it's locked...
I just delete one of the message and attachments folder... and BANG!!!
i can reopen my massage (SMS, MMS and outlook email)
Then i can sync again with my PC, it's funny, isn't it?
from now i won't unplug my USB cord when PPC is being sync...

I have Exchange set up for my work email and I get a lot of jpegs sent to be for work, but when I try to view them I get "Could not be download because attachment is corrupt." Any ideas why? I can forward to my gmail account and open just fine on my phone. But that's annoying. Please help. Thanks.

i just recetly replaced my Yarvik 260 tab due to a screen bleed had to get a replacment from the shop
i ended up with the Intenso 7" tablet i must say i do like it feels good it is responsive and fast

However the thing dose not have google play on it. this is rather a large prob for me as i need play to
use the apps i have payed for not many but i do use them an awfull lot....
this week i have sat on google trying to find a solution the closest i have found was the GPlay apk file
that was linked in a post i think on these forums.
play loads however it wont let me register my gmail account to play so it will not log in at all
is there any one with an idear on this issue at all......
Failing that any one know of a custom rom i can install on this tablet preff icecream as i have grown
to like that incarnation of android...
if any one has any info that would help it would be a god send at this point many thanxx peeps

nope i have not rooted it would not even know where to begin on this tab. Yes i have Gmail account regged on it.
when the factory reset is done the Google play is wiped from thetab and i am back to square one agen.....
but thanx for the sujestion
since u are running 2.3 u try to install android market apk and don't install playstore apk ........may be that might causing problem as playstore is latest one

did a factory reset an tryed what you sujested still the same result no go it loads an asks for an gmail aco**** i put it in the divce an get nuttin it is like ths store carnt link to the accounts i add to my divice :S
return back where u purchased and ask them to replace it ........first time I'm hearing this kind of problem .......if u can root I can suggest u some more methods .........if u don't want to take risk just go and replace it .....or else just use different Google account that might work ........format ur tabs SD card and factory reset and later login using different account
I've installed Xperiance Lite v2.0 and it's absolutely awesome. However it seems to be missing the stock email app for exchange. I've noticed it in other ROMs as well. Does anyone know where I can find a working file to flash to restore it? I've tried one for another phone and while it did load, it kept timing out when trying to connect.
Why need the stock email? U have gmail ( download it)
Stock email requires u enter every setting like whether it is pop3 or imap type account etc rubbish
If u have ftf u can extract it from there

I use an exchange server for my work mail, so I need it for that.
Thanks for the advice though, I'll see if I can extract the appropriate files from the ftf.
Righto-ho then.
I've extracted this from a working ROM and tested it successfully on my phone (Xperia U). It's the first time I've done this, but it's pretty straight forward and seems to have worked fine.
I won't be held responsible if it kills baby seals or something...
Just flash via CWM
I did find that I had to set up the account in "Accounts & Sync" rather than opening the mail app, but once set up it's fine.
