from shortcut from phone alarm or from program - message...
Nothing happen...
Then try to open from windows\tmail.exe
still no respon... whua... help me...

Instead i can't open my message, i can't sync with my PC either, I try deleting device from PC and my Athena, restart but still no luck.

It might be time for a hard reset. Backup ur files and do a hard reset bud, sorry.
do you have attachments stored on your sdcard? Sometimes if you delete the attachments directory, then the messaging app will open. Then you can sync to reclaim the attachments.
sometimes it also may help to re-create the email account

Yes, i store my message on my SDcard, then i found that the attachment folder is double and also my message folder... but i can't even change email account it's locked...
I just delete one of the message and attachments folder... and BANG!!!
i can reopen my massage (SMS, MMS and outlook email)
Then i can sync again with my PC, it's funny, isn't it?
from now i won't unplug my USB cord when PPC is being sync...

It's not rom specific. I had/have the same problem with CM's stuff. I havent had any problems with WG-10.2 though. Just FYi

Go to settings => applications => manage appl. => clean cach & data for Gmail and Gmail storage.
Open gmail and make a refresh.
Just noticed today that I had this fault from reading another thread :=)
I just bought the phone in India a couple of days back. I wanted to update the phone s/w, from currently v10c, to v 10d. But every time I try and after accepting all the terms and conditions, midway through the process I get a message that the phone don't support S/W update. I have installed all the necessary driver. The programs recognises my phone. It even tells me that there is S/W update available for my phone. What could be the problem? Am I missing any setting on the phone that is restricting it from updating? Help me out please.

1.first go to settings->applications->development-> now check usb debugging..
2. connect phone to computer
3. 2 notifications will pop up
4. turn on usb mass storage
5. do the usual steps necessary that u did before
Thank You so much it worked. The usb debugging option needed to be checked. But the mass storage option needed to remain unchecked. Its now updated to android 2.2.2. And contrary to what others have said about slowing down the system, I think it made my phone faster and snappier after the initial booting process. I highly recommend updating the phone to this version. And thanks for ur reply zeemar007.
There is one more thing I wanted to know. I have synced my contacts with google. and I have changed the settings in the display option to show contacts only in my gmail account. But still for certain contacts it shows the phone pc sync copy of the contacts as well while for some it don't. Cause of this the details of these contacts show the birthday twice with the same date. When I go to edit of these contacts it shows both gmail and phone pc sync. How do I correct it to show only Phone Pc sync. Even though all the contacts have a copy in the gmail account and in the phone this happens to only few contacts. What could be the issue? Is this some bug?

well ur second problem seems to me as if u have some problem which GENERALLY OCCURS BECOZ U HAVE SOME CONTACTS SAVED IN PHONE MEMORY WHILE SOME ARE SAVED IN SIM CARD.. is dat so??? lemme know..

go to user cp> options > default thread subscription mode> select no email notification.
this way, whatever thread you post in, the same thread will be listed in the main page of your user cp. so this way you will know if somebody has posted a reply to your post.

u can do this (NOT RECOMMENDED!!!)
1. DELETE ALL UR CONTACTS FROM PHNE MEMORY i.e clear the contacts
2. now synchronyse ur phone via pc
3. this way u will get what u want 2 c in contacts
if u use wifi, 3g or data connections then deactivate gmail synchronysation.. from contacts or else ur gmail contacts will showup in ur contacts list..
ONLY DO ThIS IF UR really desperate

I have changed my password on my Gmail due to some attemts to break into my email acc. And now I have problems with login on my phone! It says over and over again that its not the rihgt password!
What should I do!?
problem is in your google account, try to fix this via desktop first.
The problem I have is with gmail and FB on my phone! I just can't log in it always says that the password is wrong I can normally log in with no problems on my computer into Gmail and FB acc!

Go to applications in settings, manage applications, click on the 'all' tab, go to accounts and setting, and clear data. It should work.
I have formated the system on my phone! And have installed new fresh version of ROM (carbon) but there I'm stuck because it says "Your username and password do not match. Please try again"
Then again I have formated the system and installed 2.3.6 ROM ... still the same problems :/ I just can't log in
And then again I can log in on my computer with no problems!!!

And to be the thing even more weird I have changed my password over the mobile phone, and have made exactly the same password as I already have on my computer... now I can log in from my phone and not from my computer !?!?

Just get a new email and be done with it.. seems like the only available option... :/
I'm having this problem on incoming calls, just from certain contacts. Other contacts get through ok.
What happens is that the phone displays the message "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped", and I don't see who called and not a missed call. Sometimes even the error message closes by itself before I see it, so I don't know that there was a call.
To fix, I tried to wipe all data+cache+dalvik ache, didn't help. I reflashed a different rom, didn't help.
Recently I've synced my contacts to facebook with the Sync.ME app, and I suspect it might be the cause.
Any ideas on how I get my incoming calls work again?
First do a fullwipe again.
Then directly test it (not flash of another kernel or restore of any apps! )
Choose any Rom which should work for u.
Test it.
If anyway have problems, u should go back on a stock firmware and do a factory reset then.
Then test.
Uf this works now - root and flash Rom
again
Otherwise it's hardware (don't think so) or maybe account/Google related.
Much success and play give a short feedback.

Kinda tired of all the wipes/restores...
I will try to connect to LogCat via ADB and see if there's something suspicious.
Please tell me if you think of other ways to debug this.
U can try to fix permissions via CWM
And also u can try to replace the phone.apk from another one.
But because u already did a fullwipe, I think this won't help, that's why I gave u this recommendations .

This was caused by an old backup using BackMyTones, where the contacts weren't in sync with the ones existing in the google database (and phone).
Tried many things (like full wipe and one-by-one app installation like you suggested), but what I could have done to avoid a full wipe was detaching the google account to erase all contacts, then reattach it. This fixed things.

Long time reader, first time poster (hopefully in the right section). I am an absolute novice so please bear with me. I rooted my Razr M (XT905) to remove a bunch of the pre installed apps.
All worked fine and phone runs great. But I cant import my contacts from my google account. Gmail and app store syncing works fine, just contacts are missing.
When I access the options menu in the contact section, google isn't showing. When I look at the accounts in the settings menu, the google account is there and has the option checked to sync 'people details' (guessing this is the same as contacts).
So I'm guessing I've deleted something when removing the apps.
Any ideas as to what I might have done and how I can fix this?
Appreciate any help.

You should have a contacts sync option in Google acount. Maybe you deleted GoogleContacstSyncAdapter.apk or ContactsProvider.apk from /system/app folder

Which android version are you using? I'm attaching 4.4 version apks for you, but I'm not sure if it will work with previous Android versions. Put the apks in system/app folder (ContactsProvider should go to system/priv-app if you're on Android 4.4), change permissions to 644 (see attached image) and reboot.
If those don't work, try searching for apks from the same Android version as yours. You can find it in xda.
Please reply if it worked or not cause another user can try and help you too, but i hope it helps bro.

Thanks for the replies. Using 4.1.2.
When I've tried to copy the GoogleContactsSyncAdapter file using ES File Explorer, I get the message in the attached screenshot. How do I get around this?
Gotta mount the system as Read/Write(should be something similar to this: On the left hand panel "Tools->Root Explorer->Mount R/W" then pick your preferred options.) , and make sure to change the permissions once you move them there (here's a short little video guide - older ES, but same idea: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hhXuQ0_B28).
I also hope you aren't trying to use the ones posted here for this as it surely won't work properly.
Did you make sure to see if you were actually missing those apps?

All good now. Flashed the pacman 4.4 update with the correct apps and all working.
Only problem now is wifi wont turn on. When I toggle it on, it stays grey and no networks are detected.
Any suggestions for this issue?
