Looking at your signature, you are rooted yes?
If so, do you have titanium backup? if so, then you can choose to either freeze or delete vlingo(freezing is the safest option, in case you decide you may want to use the app, or just in case).
You can also use root explorer to delete vlingo.

I had the same problem, bothered me to death; Solution above is the only solution I've found so far. One thing I've noticed though since freezing Vlingo: Now it just sometimes does literally nothing when I press my home button (probably when I use my home button twice with almost no pause between)
(btw: U gotta look for "Speech", "Sprache", "Voice" or something like that, in your language)
Thank you both for answering! I had tried both solutions but didnt find Vlingo to delete, so specially thanks to kaassema for

Because it sometimes starts on accident, for example when pressing the home-button twice fast, when all you wanted was twice the action of a one-button-press...
...or for clarification: I really have no use for Vlingo, nor intention to start it, yet I have seen it's interface at least 35 times already... By accident! Thus disabled it

You can disable Vlingo quite easiily on the Samsung Galaxy S2.
Settings>Language and Keyboard>Samsung keypad>Voice Input
Untick the box and the double click on home no longer brings up Vlingo.

What if I'm using Swype keys?
Seems your suggestion didn't work.
{i'm assuming the settings is overriding global setting}
JohnN6. That does actually not work. Even if you do that, disable the processes and swipe the data for Vlingo, it will always start, with Eula questions and everything, every time you either double-tap home, or more itrritatingly, if you hit your headset button to try and bring up any preferred installed dialer. The latest three software-updates for the S2 has been like this. And to add insult to injury, Vlingo has actually no hope of working for a Swede like me. Even if I tried to voice-dial a Swedish friend, by idiotically trying to pronounce the swedish names in English, it has almost zero chance to do a correct detection.
This software just has to be able to be disabled again (like the first Software version my S2 came delivered with). I am seriously thinking of just throwing the phone and get something else over this issue. Having to touch the phone to dial anyone is in my occupation often putting me in life-threatening situations. So it is really, really bad all of this...
@ SDPlus: I had the same problem and solved it. Using Titanium Backup free version on a rooted SGS2, it was easy (all english commands are translated from German, so could be not perfect):
First I entered Titanium, "Backup & Restore", and searched for "Vlingo". As a result there came "Sprachsuche", which is German for voice search. Pointing on it long enough brought up a menu, where I could choose "backup", and after that I clicked in the same menu on "force to stop". Then I clicked on "uninstall", and off it went.
Since I have a better app for voice dial (cyberon), Vlingo was pain. Now Cyberon works as expected.
Reasons for getting rid of Vlingo (someone asked): 1. I don't want to accept their terrible terms, where I allow to collect data about everything I do , whom I call, when, whatever. Disagreeing ends up in a not working voice-dial, even if you have a paid app for that installed. That is kidnapping. 2. It does not work good enough for me. 3. If I want to be binded to a software, I would have decided to buy an IPhone.
tnx it fixed my problem too
PS: In dutch/flemish it's called "spraakopdrachten".
If you freeze it with Titanium backup the double press doesn't work anymore.
You da man, thanks much for the info.....worked perfetly!!!
I want to take the subject and would like to know if you have any good replacement for the Vlingo app?
And if it have Portuguese language!?
Thanks!

Very annoying
Anyone have a fix to stop Vlingo poping up all the time? Even if I dont double press the home key it comes up. Very annoying. I dont have my phone rooted either.
The best way which i did last week
I ROOTED my Galaxy s2
Installed titanium tool and I freeze the voice command
Never again I got the voice command pop up
For those who already seeking for a salvation:
Get your phone rooted, instally Titanium Backup (even free version).
When you in Titanium Backup press menu and hit Filters, enter Vlingo, Accept. And then Go to Batch operations scroll down to Freeze apps and there you will only see Vlingo sh.t in your language just hit the Run button and you are now FREE FROM VLINGO.

Confirmed, it works.
use go launcher
Install Go Launcher.
Open the app drawer
Click the dots and then App Manager
Click the trash can next to Voice Command.
Click OK.
Not rooted. Ics 4.0.3
I never accepted the eula after ics update. Don't think that matters. No more vlingo ! Swype still fully functional.
Hello all,
Its getting very annoying: everytime I pinch out on the homescreen to get to the homescreen selection section, a voice is saying some stuff I cant even understand, even in silent mode. Its getting me sick!
How can I disable it? Looked for it everywhere! Someone has a clue?
Thanks in advance.
Am I the only one with this problem? No one else?

Me either as far as I know your not meant to get any either?
Have you added an app as an accessibility service? Maybe Lightflow or Tasker? You can either remove those apps as accessibility services or you could use another launcher. This is a known bug which doesn't really have a perfect solution yet.

I had the same issue yesterday and i solved it
At first i thought it was driving mode(since that reads out things while you drive) then i checked accessibility settings and i disabled talk back(i think).....but that still didnt work.
Found out its lightflow....Has something to do with the app.I think you can disable it but i just removed the app completely and the voices stop
I'm still waiting for my s3 so can't check whether that does the trick or not but the developer of Missed It! said to check that both Talkback and Install Web Script (both in Accessibility settings) are set to off
Sent from my CM9 TouchPad
I've had this problem too and I don't have Lightflow installed. For me, the solution was to go to Settings, Accessibility and under Services turn off 'Addons Detector' which I had installed.
So, perhaps it's anything installed in the Services section causes the problem. A bug perhaps?
Hey guys!!
Just got my S6 Edge and loving everything about it so far except...
My Ok Google anywhere isn't working. It's not even presenting me an option to turn it on. Also "enable audio history" option is missing which I know is necessary to get it all working.
I have done a factory reset, enabled and disabled S Voice, primary language English US, and deleted app data etc! I am running a stock Telus Samsunf S edge. I don't know if it's firmware dependent or not.
If anyone can suggest anything else, I'm all ears!!
Thanks in advance!

Looks like they removed it I had it yesterday now it's gone there was a update last night
Ah, that's a shame. At least I'm not the only one!!
Hope they come to their senses and come out with an update to enable it again!
Yep was there yesterday and gone now.
Perhaps it was sucking too much battery? Can't say I really used it that much but it was a cool feature. Will just have to press and hold home button to use it! A bit of a pain!
Found a work around for now...
Using an app called "Now Gesture Tweaks" which allows me to press and hold the home button to activate Voice Search and Nova Launcher gesture "Swipe Up" for Google.
Gives us a similar effect.
voice your disapproval: @S6NoOKGoogle https://twitter.com/S6NoOKGoogle
Don't you guys have "google settings" in your app drawer? All "OK Google" settings are right there.
EDIT: My bad.. deep down to the detection settings, it is gone!! How!? So is this Samsung's fault or Google's fault?
Yup. It's global and it's just all the variants of the S6 & S6 Edge. Some Nexus devices seem to be broken but still have their options.

I used it on a regular daily basis. Very frustrating for them to pull it without notice...
What is even more frustrating is that neither Google or Samsung is taking the heat for this,,,both are referring us to each other LOL,,,classic tactic.

Unfortunately same, not working.
It doesn't work on my Note 2, my wife's S3, and even my coworker's Walmart Alcatel phone alll running Kitkat and all did the latest update.
Its a bigger issue and Google doesn't seem to be too concerned
I got an update yesterday and it is working now, well at least from the homescreen.
Sprint S6 Edge w/Nova Launcher, OK Google works from any screen.
Does the widget need to be on the home screen for it to work

Not for me
Wow, just realized I don't need the widget at all for hotword to work. Cool
supposedly the 5.1.1 update will bring the OK Google functionality back.
Is your S-Voice App activated? Or did you disable that? I've read that either having it on or off might enable OK GOOGLE from any screen to work.

Hello, first I'm sorry for poor English, but I will try the best for it.
I'm having issues with my G5 (H-860) after last update (V10e-SEA-XX) I'm getting screen overlay detected on my phone when i want to set permission for new download app. I follow the instruction to turn off in setting but it's not solved. The problem still in there. I've tried several suggest from google:
1. From quick search google, it's said because the application for setting the brightness like lux or twilight, but i don"t have the application like that in my phone.
2. I'm going to turn off all application who have permit to draw over other apps, but still doesn't success. and some application can't be set on or off.
3. I'm going to safe mode and want to change the permission setting from the application i want to set, but the problem still exist! even in safe mode this screen overlay detected still pop out.
4. Lastly, I'm going to factory reset (hard reset). It's success. I'm download application and set permission setting to all of them. But in the next few hours, the problem coming again!
please help me if one of you can solved this problem. Imagine waze application doesn't have permission set to location lol

Hi. To me Safe Mode donĀ“t help, in safe mode still give same error at least to storage. Have SD in phone.
I solved. Disable all non system app permission to overlay and force stop Clean Master or any other battery saving app what installed. Worked on me.
For me it was File Explorer HD causing it. As soon as I disabled it's screen overlay permission issue was solved

some apps messes with screen overlay permissions
try to track them down and notify it's dev to fix it
for me it was Cool Tool and Tinycore

Yeah I fixed mine by uninstalling file manager hd
If you have Xposed installed you can try this module, http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.crossbowffs.nooverlaywarning
Works great for me, no more annoying warning/wasted time disabling the apps that cause it (like Side Apps Bar or Status Bar Mini) :good:

been using it myself

Go to the setting , then general then accessiblity then go inside and motor & cognition go inside again touch assistant then off , after that just get the facebook or other applications open. For example go to open the facebook and save photo anyone what you want then pop up the granted permission then allow or if its not pop up, show the msg like saved photo ..then your facebook have granted for storage, please dont open again touch assistant because of some applications need permission then all of your application was granted then touch assistant can open agaim if you need ........
Thanks catastrophe0ph
i just fixed mine too. In my own case GravityBox is the culprit.
The application "pie" in GravityBox was the problem for me! I disabled it and had no more issues!
i've cheked it before and its about android 6.0 not 6.0.1 and also its not lg g5 h860. :
This OVERLAY problem is hugely irritating. I bought this phone (H 860 India) a week back when it was on V10f firmware and MM 6.0.1. No overlay problems faced then. I took it to service centre and upgraded it to V10k (since no OTAs were given available) and since then the problem cropped up. I have never faced this problem in any of my phones, Coolpad Note 3 Lite (on MM), Nexus 5x (neither on MM nor on N). SO I think its a problem with LG firmware. And sadly there is no perfect solution for the problem. You try to find out the culprit app, or disable overlay in all for getting a permission. Very sad. Anybody else facing problem in V10k indian version?
I can't stand the Overlay Screen Detected message.. So darn annoying... I couldn't give permissions to this one ap, because of it. Messenger head was no open, yet it still was messing with the screen overlay premissions . I was able to give the ap it's premissions, when I disabled screen overlay for Messenger.
Anybody can help me identify this issue.
Whenever I am trying to use my recorder, either audio or video. The box will come out saying (if I am trying to record a video) "camera is currently recording audio. com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox:interactor will not be able to record right now"
What is annoying, once the box comes out it will stop my recording.
Please shed some light anyone.
I am using a Huawei P9+

Hey,
I had the same problem on the same device.
Only thing that helps me out was disabling the google recognition on every screen in the google settings. Hope that helps you either but its remarkable because i used it a long time very active and now i get this box every time.. really annoying hope there is another solution.

How can you do that,to disable google recognition on every screen?thx

I had the same issue with my Honor 8 and it would pop-up each time I was trying to record something w/ the video camera (that it ended up messing up some shots).
Long story short, I tried the following suggestion on YouTube:

Hope this helps!

So your video got rid of the annoying pop up message, but I found out that this disabled the mic when using the voice commands "OK Google". I had to enable the Google Mic services again in order to use the Google Voice commands again, which caused the pop up message to show up again.

Can you try removing the Google search app and reinstalling? That may work in getting the mic service to work again while keeping the pop-up suppressed.
