charge ur phone to 100% then try resetting the Fuel gauge chip in extweaks then reboot ur phone and wait for a cpl of hrs then ur batt starts showing near correct %

Full batt charging and reboot is not necessary. Simply go to ExTweaks, reset fuel gauge chip and wait few hours. Your battery percentage will increase.

I am having the same problem but apparently Extweaks doesn't work with my kernel.
Is there another solution?

Charge your phone untill you're sure that it reached 100%. Turn of your phone, remove the battery for a minute, put it back in and reboot your phone again.

Thanks. I did that and used the battery calibration app, seems to have worked.

I've been experiencing the same problem with my SGS2's battery and noticed that it is getting bloated. I purchased a new one to prevent severe damage on my mobile phone.

Phone not switching on: Battery and phone very hot

Just woke up and my phone is boiling, especially touchscreen and battery. Its not switching on, I left it on charge like I do every night.
Just to let you guts know, never flashed or rooted my s2. Its still on 2.3.4 with kernel 2.6.35
Turn the phone off remove battery and let it go cold .
Then connect to Samsung charger and see what happens .
Problems
One factory reset after backing up data .
Two try a another/new battery
Three return to service .
jje
Try with another battery, I'm pretty sure that that will help

We've had it happen when a app has "hanged" and not closed on Gingerbread. Haven't had it happen yet on ICS *touch wood* .. phone gets hot and huge battery drain quickly.. even while on charge.
Maybe a recent app you have installed has caused the hang?
leaving your battery on charge overnight is NOT the problem
I posted this few days ago, I'm having another problem now, unsure if its linked to this. But occasionally when phone on charge, I'm getting a pop up notification saying 'battery paused, temperature too low or hot'
This happens regardless of the battery or charger. I've taken screen shots of they help. Battery temp is 67 with condition over over heating. How do I solve this

Bump, anyone?
Have you a bumper on the phone or other case protection ?
Depends on which battery I use, if its the official 2000 mah battery then I use a cheap £1 mesh case. If its the standard battery then I don't use any. The extended battery is now charging.
A friend with a phone shop told me to warm the batteries up before putting them on charge and to my surprise its worked, weird since batteries were saying over heating

How to improve capacity of your SG Ace Battry

I have tried this trick and it works on my SG Ace:
1. Open your phone and charge it for 7-8 hours.
2. Shut off your phone, wait for at least 2 minutes and charge it again for 1 hour.
3. Turn on your phone and wait for at least 2 minutes and charge it for 1hour.
You will notice an improvement on the life and capacity of your battery.
Hope this will help.

Before i using The Ace Kernel Beta 3, but the carger of battery no work's like i want, and i reflash BlackHawk Kernel by Ketut. (Thks Ketut).
In pic, at 01:28 i reflash BlackHawk Kernel, before i'm using The Ace Kernel Beta 3.
does it really improve the battery?
"Perform shallow discharges. Instead of discharging to 0% all the time, lithium-ion batteries do best when you discharge them for a little bit, then charge them for a little bit. The table at the right, from Battery University, shows that discharges to 50% are better for your battery's long-term life than, say, small discharges to 90% or large discharges to 0% (since the 50% discharges provide the best number of cycles-to-usage ratio)."

Restart the phone and suddenly battery has half of the juice!

I have latest 4.0.4 official UK unbranded firmware and it happened on 4.0.3 too. I have tried factory reset and doing a battery cycle.
Could it be a pure battery problem or may it be a bug? Anyone else has this problem?

I also have this problem... It's a huge issue for me! Constantly having to recharge! grrrrrr!
I'm running 4.0.3 UHLPK
Have you tried recharging to 100%, taking battery out for at least 3 mins (180 secs), then allowing full discharge?

Yep tried that. Tried anything I can think of.
Yes I have tried all those battery tips in general...even tried to leave the battery disconnected from the phone for one night after doing a full discharge and them charge with the device turned off.

It's normal. The fuel guage chip in GSII doesn't need calibration, but the downside is sometimes after rebooting below 60-50% battery it can show wrong battery info. The battery still has power just reporting is wrong. If you wait for sometime you'll see the battery climbing back to pre reboot state.
So DON'T PANIC normal operation.
Restarting the phone resets the fuel gauge. If you leave it for a while, the battery will come back
Thanks for the replies!

The weirdest battery status ever recorded

Just wanted to share a funny screenshot I have taken a while ago while using a JB/ICS rom (Can't really remember which), the screenshot is of the battery status in settings showing some seriously odd info (BTW, I haven't charged the mobile at all during this):

Nah, didn't switch battery nor charged it, I simply unlocked my phone to find it at 0% and shutting down, when it turned off I tried holding the power button again (because I was sure it was charged) and then it turned on with 1% and then kept increasing till it reached the flat level and then proceeded to decrease again!

The battery works perfectly normal now, and during that day it continued to work normally after it reached the flat level (it decreased as usual after this). I know, it's crazy!
mine did that too. till 13% to 94%. I removed the battery and put it back in.
I guess sometimes the battery sensor goes cuckoo haha.

it usually happens when ram consumption is very high. i have faced it many times so clear your current applications and clear ram before locking or wait until the screen responds. battey stats will improve too. use application like advanced task killer.

No i have faced this issue even after an immediate Factory reset rather this screen shot is of just 5 hrs after a fatory reset. and i have hardly any appplications installed. and this behavior of battery is very unusual. During this phase when the phone doesn't respond even if sme1 calls it appears to them that the phone is ringing but in reality it doesnt show to me that dere is an incomming call. coz the screen doesn,t turnon atall.
I feel like your battery might be damaged.. if you have the opportunity to test with other battery, pls have a try.. I feel this since you have mentioned like you see the battery percentage fall drastically.. i have seen this with batteries which are about to expire..
