I've recently started to get back into running and I was wondering is there an armband case out yet that would keep it strapped to my arm or another area so I could listen to music/run GPS/tracking apps?
I got this arm band and use it pretty much every day. http://www.iarmbands.com/Arm-Band-Armband-for-HTC-EVO-4G-LTE-cab-evo4gLTE.htm?categoryId=-1
It's a tight fit and makes me take my case off and even then it's hard to get the top flap over the top of the phone. It works but isn't great. There are other threads already in this forum about arm bands. Search for it.

I got a lot of use out of that same one with my OG Evo, but I'm a bit more concerned about keeping my LTE dry, since I sweat buckets when I run. I'm thinking of giving this one a try, even though it's a bit pricier.
http://www.shopandroid.com/overboard-waterproof-pro-sport-arm-pack/4AA9629.htm
I don't know if you're interested in a waist belt instead, but I just got a nice simple one that works awesome. (Awesomely?) It's called a SPIbelt, it's just a thin pocket with a waistband, basically, and it zips closed. I use it with my Rocketfish RF- MAB2 bluetooth headphones (which are outstanding, by the way) and I have no complaints. I can put the belt around my shorts' waistband to keep it off my body for sweat protection. It is thin, so it won't provide much on its own. But it's comfortable and doesn't bounce at all, huge plus for me. And it fits even inside my TPU case, and would probably work even with a bigger case because it has some stretch to it.
I can't stand arm bands personally, so this is the only way to go for me.
I almost got a Tune Belt, they make one waist belt that fits I hear, the iP4 I think. But I found this at a store where I had a gift card, so I went with it. It was $20, not cheap, but cheap compared to most anything else out there. If I do upgrade it will be to the Tune Belt just so I have access to the screen without opening the case.

Just wanted to give you guys and gals a heads up about a new case. It's made by Seidio and looks and feels great on the phone. Adds a bit of bulk to the phone but comes with the holster. I'll try and get some pics up later tonight after the little one goes to bed. It goes for $34. 99 retail. My Best Buy got it in today so they should start being available soon.
Edit... Couple of pictures... Sorry the quality sucks.

My location just received them also today. It does not interfere with the noise canceling mic. The platinum series cases are exactly the same as the surface series cases by seido (they make them for best buy). Retail is $34.99 for the case and clip.
35 for both clip and case?!?!? Isn't that 50 on their own site

The best buy platinum series cases are garbage in my opinion. They're the lowest quality case on the market. They're thick and look cheap. They remind me of the chinese cases they used to mass-produce for the clunkers in the 90s. This is one of Best Buy's most profitable skus in the store, so they hock the hell out of them.
Seriously though, this line is about the worst on the market. They beat the hell out of the back of your phone, and they're so incredibly thick, and have absolutely zero aesthetic charm. There are soooo many better cases and more worthey companies you can support, and get better protection from.
I tend to use BodyGlove Mirage case with seemingly sturdy Platinum holster. Haven't seen either yet for I-777?????

I bet you look like I did in best buy when I tried one on my phone and couldn't get it off. It took a long time and a few sales associates to figure it out.
Use something small and sharp to slide in the minuscule crack along the backside where it joins. Then push that tool down to un-notch it.
That was enough of a PITA for me not to buy the case.

I couldn't disagree any more. The cases are manufactured by Seido which has an excellent reputation online for quality cases. It is their "surface" case rebranded. I will say that the all black color is kind of plain and may not have the "charm" you desire, however I like the simple look. They have felt inside the case to protect the phone from scratching so I'm not sure why you stated it beats up the phone.
To each his own as they say...

this isnt the only case hard to remove. the otterbox cases are just as hard ive had it on 3 different phones the iphone, captivate, and the atrix 4g. u will have just as much trouble and the outside skin covering the hard case on the otterbox will stretch to where it wont stay on. the platinum seidio case i had on my nexus was 10x better than otterbox and the same price and had 3 layers of protection versus 2 for otterbox.
I have had this case for about a month now and love it. I've tried a bunch of cases including the armor shield and I keep coming back to this case. I think its incredibly light and adds almost no bulk. Plus the holster is awesome. The back is a little tricky to get off but after you find the right place to apply pressure to its easy. Took me a few tries but I can unsnap it no problem now. I do like the snap it makes it feel secure.
One note, don't try and put and armor suit on your phone then put it in this case. It will not come back out without some serious prying. I actually am impresses the case is still fully functional with no scratches or anything after I practically had to pry it from the sides of the phone.

I have used Seidio cases/holsters on my smart phones for the last 5 years. On Black Friday, I went to BestBuy and bought 2 case/holster combos for $45. One of these is $49 on the Seidio site. So now, when the holster spring cracks in 6 months, I still have a spare. Quick review.... The case is snug, fits perfectly, has all the correct cutouts, and is secure. And it is easy to get on or off once you get the "feel" for the clip on the back. The holster build quality is the best I have ever had from Seidio. They clearly are improving their product. I have no concerns of it falling off my belt, or popping out of the holster. And it is still easy enough to get the phone out with one hand.
I just got this case/holster at Best Buy today.
I've been a Seidio fan for several years now, this is my 3rd Seidio holster. The previous ones (for HTC Kaiser and HTC Rhodium) didn't require a separate case - they just held the phone "naked". I do like that this case has holes for both the I777 and the international version's placement of the noise-canceling mic.
But ... yeah, it's a bugger to remove the case from the phone until you get the hang of it.
For giggles, I tried out my SGP Neo Hybrid EX bumper case with the Seidio holster - it fits like a glove, so that's another option.
Cool, what kind of screen protector that you have on your phone?
I don't have this case, but looking at it, it looks like a good case. It's the dual silicon/polycarbonate case. popping around online I didn't happen to see any reviews for this particular case (for the note) but the series of touch case seem to have an overall 4+ star reviews on places like amazon.

I just noticed that shipping is $6
Looks a bit bulky, and there are plenty of cases for much less. I bought the S-line case for under $10 bucks and it works great. DO I really like it??? Not really. I prefer the Note without a case, but I sure don't want to drop it.
I use the Samsung flip case mostly, even though it is not wearing well. I dropped the phone once and the Samsung flip case actually came off of the phone. No damage to phone though. Must have landed just right, because the flip case offers zero side protection.

So.....what are they saying again? hehehe . I get a kick out of some of the sites that seem to pop up overnight every time a new phone model comes out. The prices are wayyyyyyyy too high as well.

Well case-mate has a rather large list of products, yes they're expensive and bulky but honestly I'll spend the $30 for a case that I can drop because I am that clumsy. I like the Sedio's Active case series, I like the otterbox commuter series cases. I have big pants, I'm willing to spare the room to make sure my phone is protected.
Also Sweet Armor makes me laugh, they charge double the price of everyone else for a quarter of the material.
I posed this because I thought someone like me would like a thicker case.
Got these from Amazon, I ordered two of them for a total of $41.95.
Of all the "heavy duty" cases available for the note, this one seems to be the smallest in terms of bulk.
There's already a review on this here in the forum, but basically it fits great, it looks great, it feels great, and the only complaint I can make about it is that the upper and bottom portions have the Silicone inner case exposed, and we all know those things are dust magnets and don't fit snugly like a TPU does. I wish the polycarb hardcase wrapped around both of those ends.
has anyone found or have a legit known good arm band for the phone? Im looking for one that is MADE for the lte EVO so it never has a risk of falling out while running.
Just got the one from iArmbands. Without a case, the phone goes in well but the flap at the top is a bit tight to wrap over the phone. I use the Seidio Surface case, and while I can get the phone into the band, it takes a bit of struggling with that flap.
Without a case, the phone is actually a bit too narrow for this armband. With a case the phone is the right width, but the height is a bit short. The screen is controllable through the clear cover in either case.

thanks for posting that site its really good! very cheap items! they have my TPU case on there for 10 bucks when i bought it for 18! =p
I ended up getting the iArmbands case for HTC phones in Otterbox cases. If you go to their site they have the model number there. It fits great with my Otterbox Commuter. It even fit my nephew's Droid Razr Maxx in an Otterbox Defender.
The only thing I don't like is that the armband itself isn't elastic and is very short. I contacted iArmbands about this and they recommended an extender from one of their competitors. I will check the name and add a follow up post.
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
Ah TuneBelt was what they recommended. They are only a $1.75 on Amazon. Had I known I would have bought one with the case.
One other note, I had to cut the case for the headphone cable as the holes do not align.
TuneBelt has a case that is made for large phones like the Evo 4G LTE in Otterbox and Seido cases. I am tempted to buy that with the extender just to see how well it works. It wouldn't hurt to have a spare in the car in case I forget to throw it in my gym bag.

Thanks, yeah, it took lots of digging for me to finally decide which one to get. I was a little hesitant b/c of the model number difference as well.
According to the descriptions on Amazon:
AB85 - Maximum size: Length: 5.5 inches; Circumference (2X width plus 2X depth) up to 7.75 inches.
AB86 - Maximum length: 5.4" - Maximum circumference (2X width plus 2X depth): 6.5". Design not intended for smartphones with protective cases. See models AB84 or AB85 for those needs.
I emailed them as well, and although they were prompt with responses, they weren't all that helpful so I just went by what was on the description.
I just ran a race recently and saw a runner with an actual belt-type case for her iPhone. I'd really like something like that, it's almost like a tiny fanny pack with the phone sitting lengthwise at the small of the back. I have an old Tune Belt for a CD player that's this style, I was hoping they made one for phones.

Do you have any case on your phone? I am wondering if the phone will fit in that armband with a diztronic TPU case. Thanks.

I also have that case. It does fit. It is bit harder to get it out of the arm band.
I usually just pop off diztronic when I use the arm band.

I like the concept, but with non form fitting to specific model of phone I would hate to have that thing slip out and nail me in the face while I am going through a tough spot in the mountains. I saw this one but I was worried about the pressure it would be putting on the phones internals.

True, you make a good point. Although it's tougher to get a phone specific holder if you use a case. The location is changeable, an option under that case is for a vent mount. Which may suit you better. All about what the user wants. I thought this one was pretty cool, probably won't buy it because I just put my phone in my cup holder if I'm using it for GPS.

Both
I love that charger, but hard to stomach $50 for the mount and $40 for the charger as current rates go. Seems like no one makes a mount I can attach to the windshield properly with the G3 that doesn't shake constantly. I'd rather not use works charging in the vehicle anyway due to its much lower amperage and greater generation of heat.
I'm picking up a pretty low cost vent mount, will see how that works. I have horizontal vents, good spacing, so the odds are good.
I picked up parts for a ram mount x-grip style windshield mount on Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005KWPJ04/
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00C7B2NV4
Cost was under $43 shipped. Hoping it will be super stable.
Also have an Smart Fit2 mount on the way it seems from winning an eBay auction that fits the WCP-300 wireless charger in it. I'll probably be reselling that when it arrives.
Edit: parts arrived, easy assembly. Super stable as hoped. Hardest part is that it takes me two hands to put the phone in the mount with the X-grip, one to pull the spring clamps open and one to insert your phone with.
Well, it's not factory, but I have this one, on the way.
http://www.shopandroid.com/ibolt-minipro-windowdash-kit/3A78A18423A.htm
Who knows, maybe this will be the one that keeps me from having to buy future mounts, as I change phones.
Put in my pre order but that's a lot of glass with the 2 screens and folded back is my plan if there is no peek feature for notifications...
Hearing its shipping with a bumper in white but has any seen any ideas on cases.
That's an expensive phone and 100% different form size to get used to...seeing dropping it as easy till you get use to it.
I have been thinking about the same thing, I think it kind of depends on how you want to carry your Duo. I think there will be some challenges because many common case options will either mess with the aesthetics of the Duo or Cause problems with the folding action of the device.
Some options may be:
-There are Skins available that will protect it from case scratching.
-There are glass protectors that can be applied to the screens. (Possibly the external panels but I am not certain on that one)
-There is a type of belt clip that reminds me of the old Blackberry holsters (By Kensington)
-There are generic belt holsters that will likely work.
-There are also belt pouches that could be used to carry the Duo with some accessories (that will likely be a bit much for most people tho)
Cheers,
BR
It's definitely going to be difficult to completely protect. I'm curious as to how well the bumper adhesive will hold up to day after day of pulling it out and putting it back in pockets. It looks like the lip of the bumper would be prone to catching or grabbing pocket seams or other rough materials.

Same here, I have been considering case options, I don't want it too snug so the case does not stress the bumpers and cause them to fall off. I like to have something that protects, allows easy carry with good access. I don't want something too big that will be cumbersome. A fine line between too little and too much

I am pretty sure that is retail demo mode. Because i went to best buy and they let me use it before they put it in demo mode and it was smooth as butter. tested it after demo mode and it was horrible.
Went to an At&t store today and got to spend about a hour with it...the phone was really nice, crazy thin but its just super awkward to text and type.
The the keyboard is wide enough that you have to use 2 hands and just couldn't get comfortable.
I would download swiftkey because lots of mistakes typing with the standard keyboard.
Camara was average quality and even running two apps, youtube and email it just was hard to type and hold the phone in book mode and feel comfortable.
I did put the bumper and zero protection. I see a lot of people dropping this phone.
I think for the cost I'm going to wait it out and see what the reviewers and influencers say...Coming from a 5g phone its going to be hard to take a step backwards.
Interested to see what you all think once you get it in hand.

The bumpers are lint magnets. Not sure how long I will be keeping them on
I don't think they are going to offer any protection anyway...
It will be interesting to see in a few weeks the post of people dropping these and the outcome!
This does not look to offer total protection, bit I dig the folio style and functionality.

Try some of the Nintendo DS Carry cases that are still around. It has virtually the same form factor and I can confirm the Duo fits snugly inside of them.

I got this case for two reasons: 1 ) I drop everything. Repeatedly. 2) I'm not using my Duo as a phone. In fact I turned the ringer off so spam calls don't bother me.
It's a high quality case as you'd expect from Otterbox, but it does work by sticking the Duo to it with adhesive, so you can't remove it. With the case on, you cannot fold the Duo completely around into "phone mode" so if you do plan to use it as a phone, do NOT get this case. The other annoying bit, when I do fold it around most of the way, the duo turns off the right side screen instead of the left that's now buried in the case, so you either have to do the "double tap" to swap screens, or just don't do that.
Also, the pen slot is REALLY tight on this case. Tight enough I put my 2nd gen surface pen in it and it pulled the pen apart trying to get it back out. I bought the slim pen (hate it) and it works much better there because there's not a back cap to pull off. I think over time it'll slide out easier as the elastic stretches.
It reminds me of when I did sales back in the early 90's and carried a dayplanner everywhere. That's essentially what your Duo becomes with this case - a digital dayplanner.
It's hard to play games on it due to the folding issue and how much weight the case adds to the device. All in all, I'm very pleased with the case, but I think a lot of people won't be due to those limitations.
