any input on Fosmon 2750mah extended batteries?!?! - HTC Rezound

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA07R0C40040&Tpk=rezound
just came across these and am not finding any relevant data or reviews on these particular batteries...truth be told, im only interested because of the price...im torn between these and the mugen 400mah batteries...ironically im interested in either extremely cheap or the extremely pricey batteries, and am only hesitant because id rather overpay for quality than waste money on some shoddy product...
im not fond of carrying back up batteries and this damn phone loves leaving me stranded when i need it the most
#firstworldproblems

If it isn't oem, I would say don't use it. Batteries made by third parties are usually crap. Just putting that out there

Yeah cheap batteries can explode, leak then explode, overheat then explode, or leak then overheat then explode.
(Ok not literally)
Some 3rd party batteries might be better quality than others, but your safest bet is OEM.
(I heard the Mugen batteries are pretty good, but I haven't used any of them.)

I've used Seidio in other phones and they have been great. Unfortunately they don't have a Rezound battery. Heard good things about Mugen as well.
Just talk nice to a Verizon customer service person and get them to send you one for free or for cheap. If they won't, kindly ask for their supervisor. If you're polite they'll usually do something to help you out.

It's people like you make me hate when I have to work phones in a help desk position.
I'm not in sales anymore (was in high school), but I'm in an IT position at a company now and only have to deal with internal customers (who still *****, just less so usually).
Everytime I've had to call a CS line (or use chat or w/e) I'm polite / professional, and usually get what I want. I've warrantied several components to my computer that were out of warranty (by a few months) this way.
There's a difference between the CS Rep actually wanting to help you out (if you're nice to them), and just wanting to get you off the phone (if you're being an ass).

Dude chill. Also, I'm in a 2 year contract, so I can't

Battery might work, that doesn't mean the BACK does.
Remember, the antenna for the Rezound is in the back of the phone. At least one manufacturer (Hyperion) sells an extended battery and back, and the back is completely worthless. The phone essentially eats up all those extra mAmps just trying to CONNECT. Fortunately, I also have the OEM 2750 mAmp battery from VZW and original extended back, and that fits the 3500 mAmp from Hyperion.
I can't vouch for this particular vendor's phone back, but keep it in mind.

Radio Shack, you need to re-think your policy

So on launch day I purchased the 3D from Radio Shack in the Tacoma Mall. It was a bad phone...kept freezing up and resets did not help. So after making me feel guilty about how they aren't going to make any money, blah, blah, blah they swapped it out. Replacement phone worked great but it had a huge white speck under the screen. It was all I could look at. So I went back to the mall and they said they could only swap out 1 time. All I could do was cancel the new line and get my money back. Is this standard Radio Shack policy? They lost a good customer! I just wanted a working, dust free phone, and these employees take this crap personally and give me a guilt trip. I will never step into Radio Shack again. Well..off to Best Buy! They'll like my money!!
with in the first 30 days ... i think thats a BS excuse to "not make any money"

Exactly! How are they gonna lose money on a manufacturer defect? The excuse they tell me does not make any sense. I've never bought anything from BB. I hope they are better to work with!
I've never had an issue at the Radio Shack I go to occasionally. They don't lose money on a phone returned for defect. They get fully reimbursed. In fact, I think on any phone return they get reimbursed, but I'm not positive on that part. I just know for a defective unit they do.
Did you piss them off or something?

You would think I pissed them off, lol. I was nice, me and the guy who originally swapped it got along but he said that was their policy. So I had to go back home because I forgot the charger. The guy was gone and the gal that helped me basically took this personally. I left their feeling horrible like I did something wrong. The speck was HUGE, even the guy agreed.

Please contact the DM and tell him/ her about your experience. I manage a RS and yes employees get a lot of pressure from upper management about trying to avoid cell phone returns. I personally disagree with this and if enough customers voice their experiences with the DM, RS will do their best to satisy customers. They actually take customer feedback very seriously.

Thanks, appreciate the response. Do they infact lose out on money on manufacturer defects? They lost the sale, seems like that is just a lose lose for RS. That's the part I just can't understand! I'm not gonna pursue it any further, I think they're sick of me anyways. Best Buy took care of me and phone has no visible defects, runs great so far. Hopefully 3rd phone is a charm....seems to be so far!
They are really going to love me if I return it for no reason other than waiting for the SGS2....which I'm 50/50 on right now.

That and half the people that consider themselves as a very good customers are the worst. Who openly admits to something like that?
I think at my work... we have a 1 replacement rule... 3rd and on we need approval.
They won't be replaced for something stupid... it has to affect functionality... That's a rule for most places. If they swap it, they just don't know better.

Yeah I guess I'm the worst kind of customer...I expect a quality product for my hard earned cash! I'm not being picky, nobody in their right mind would have kept that phone! What company you work for, I'll be sure to never go their either because I like companies that care about customer satisfaction no matter how many times it takes to get it right.
well i would never buy any phone in radio shack ever again. At least in my local radio shack because of the stupidity they tried to pull on me.
I pre order 2 evo3d with the $50 gift card each. When it was time to pickup both phones i saw the brought out accesories and i thought to myself that i would probably get some free goodies. This was only to find out that their preorder $50 cards are only to purchase assessories and the money would not go to the phone. i was so piss about it and had a long talk with then. i refused to purchase the phone cause i never agree to anything like this in the preorder. They called the head manager over the phone and then they came back with the bull that since i was a long time customer they would allow it with me. I feel sorry for all the other guys that preorder in this store.

Returned products are often not reimbursed at full price. Also it costs $ to repackage, ship, pay the guy at the warehouse who inspects them.. etc. So yes, it is a loss for us. (Not saying it sucks for customers, or that it was appropriate for them to tell you that, since you have no effect on it. Bad phone is bad phone.)
The policies are really there because of people who abuse them, and like everything else, a few bad apples ruin the pie. Most "defective" phones are really due to user error/abuse and that is what we have to avoid. Personally, if I see that someone's phone is actually defective, I have no problem swapping it out. But in the real world, I have a boss to answer to, so I have to work with the same restrictive policy.
As an example, I had to factory reset two 3 day old OG Evo's today that people wanted to return because they were "defective." The phones were fine, but the people had loaded so much crap on them that they were barely running. After the reset, both were working perfectly.
Hope that helps.

If you wanted an SGS2, why buy a 3D? This is one of the reasons policies like this are around.
I'll never understand why people buy things that they aren't sure they really want. All it does is waste a product that someone who actually wanted it could have had and waste a lot of everyone's time. Seems like it would be much easier for all parties involved to just make sure the one you buy is actually the one you want.

BestBuy says "They ain't exactly flying off the shelves"

Noticing a whole stack of them in the case at a local Bestbuy, I asked 2 store managers and 2 other dept employees about the new Razr. They ALL said it was a non-event, although Motorola had invested $mils in advertising. Evidently, it was designed and put into production months ago, and nowadays that's just not quick enough for the Android market. Things simply evolve much faster than Motorola's bureaucracy can adjust.
Biggest reason customers put it back on the shelf: Soldered in, non-replaceable battery.
Reason #2 : The screen is a yawner. It's boring, old news.
Reason #3 : It's new, it's gonna have bugs, and customers simply don't have to put up with that.
#4: $299 w/contract - and you're stuck with it for 2 years.
Is this phone locked? Can it be flashed? Just curious - one of them told me it can't be rom'ed. Would Mot be that monopolistic ?
According to one of the phone-dept workers, a good chunk of sales have been returned overnight after a disappointing unboxing/testing.
Frankly, I thought the phone was a pretty solid piece of work - especially compared to the plastic Samsungs. I love it's little slots on the side for XD cards, NICE touch. But alas, the screen is, well, is just isn't. Not with the 1200x800's about to hit around Thanksgiving.
Oh well, one of them said Mot's is already planning a Razr-2 in Jan to fix all this stuff, but now they're behind the power curve. Who knows.
I think Amazon offering the phone for $111.11 or Costco including $100+ in extras is why Best Buy isn't selling many.

This.
Also the phone needs recovery at this point I believe. It can certainly be "Rom-ed" but it just can't be "Kernel'ed". That is a pretty lame deal breaker if you want a phone simply to install different kernels to boost your quadrant scores that no one cares about.
If you ask me I agree the phone is amazing, I love it. The screen is mind blowing to me, so I have no problem paying that and being in a contract for it. I guess one needs to consider all the options customers have at this point, mainly with the iphone on verizon now. Every average jo wants an iphone just cause his neighbor has one.
Anyone true tech enthusiast wouldn't buy from Best Buy LOL (I've went there with a friend that insisted I do for Black Friday). That place is terrible and is a total rip off. Geek squad and the employees (I haven't spoke to a single one that seems to know what they're doing/talking about) yeah they're something else. I highly doubt there's going to be a RAZR 2 coming out in Jan, it's probably the DROID 4, which has similar design but also has a physical keyboard. If it definitely is the the RAZR 2 this will be my last Motorola phone period. If their solution is to just make a new device like 2-3 months later, instead of supporting their most current phones, then that's a bad business model for sure.
Sure there probably will be a RAZR 2, but I personally hope not, seeing it would kinda tarnish the fact that it's a unique device/name series. But yeah with Amazon selling the device for 111.11 on 11/11 and Costco with that beast package, and a good majority of people pre ordering to get the phone early (one day w00t). It's not a surprise that Best Buy isn't pushing the phones like hotcakes. Also I would take anything that Best Buy tells you about Android rumors with a grain of salt.
I wouldn't go to best buy if they were the ONLY brick and mortar selling phones. I'd wait the 2 days for UPS.
Anyone with good common sense wouldn't go to BB for their phones even with their instant rebate deals. Their "insurance" plan is a rip off and the fact Amazon was selling it for 111.11 on the day of release (as someone said earlier) is reason enough for BB to not see this phone flying off shelves.
Add to the fact, all the advertising dollars Verizon spent, pointed to the phone being sold BY VERIZON STORES. I have a friend who works for verizon and she sold out of the RAZR within a couple hours and her store had a couple hundred of them.
SO don't go drinking Best Buy's kool aid. Especially when they know nothing of phones (let alone the products they sell as a whole)
the OP is completely full of crap... so is anyone else that says the removable battery is a "no go". did the soldered in battery hurt Iphone?
the screen on this phone is fantastic, anyone who wants to complain about it is a person that will never be happy with anything.
bugs? this is the least buggy phone that i have ever owned.
im nowhere near a moto fan boy, but these complainers need to jus STFU, the Razr is a sweet phone.......

I lol'd. BB is terrible for computers/phones etc (Newegg for life!). Anyways the fact that they're saying there's a RAZR 2 coming out in like 4 months yeahhh no. Droid 4 probably aka RAZR jr w/ a keyboard, will be nice for those that crave physical keyborads. But I doubt moto is gonna pull another "Bionic" deal with the RAZR. Replacing their flagship so soon after it comes out, I'm trying to retain faith lol.
They do have a 30 day return policy. Also the insurance gets you a new phone (but you have to wait 17 months to get it).

I don't think so. Motorola have learnt this from his past. Milestone was buggy.. but watch at the first ATRIX ROM: there wasn't any important bug at all. They've only enhanced its speed with the updates as personally I haven't noticed any bug.
And anyway, every first S/W version of every pda has got some bugs, that's absolutely normal, with the exception that Motorola is very fast at updates.

This device is another exception in Motorola's policies. Moto uses to sign their devices forever, but as Moto said and confirmed publicly, like happened on ATRIX for the Gingerbread update, when RAZR will get ICS, Moto will give us an unlockable bootloader, thing that is SURE for non branded devices and for branded ones (like Verizon's...) it's about the operator.

I know of some guys that have bought the RAZR, unboxed, tested for 30 minutes and then re-sold it. It was too big for their hands. I don't know other bad things as for now.
Anyway, in my opinion, you should try the device in a store prior buying it, especially if it is a big device and you've got small hands.

Mmh, I don't think so, at least for now. They've just released the RAZR.
That would cut their RAZR sales and make them lose a lot of money.
I guess everyone who did buy a RAZR, and is happy with it (myself included) should throw our device away and hang our heads in share, based on this information from the always solid reliable and correct Best Buy store employees.
Anyone know what the Costco bundle for the RAZR comes with?

Yes! Cause we all know that Best Buy store employees are always right !!!!
Since I agree with most of these Bestbuy comments, I made a trip over to the Verizon store. Hit 3 actually, one is the largest in the state. Guess what - there were dozens of new razr's in stock there too.
Not convinced, I asked around, speaking to 3-4 employees in each store. They all said the same thing the Bestbuy people did - the phone is a 7 month old semi face lift of some earlier Mot phone, and simply put nobody cares for it and nobody's impressed. Same list of complaints earlier in this thread.
"What's everybody waiting for" I asked? Everyone said the same thing: the high res screens that are about to hit. Namely the SAMSUNG Nexus is the first of a long list of new generation phones, we may see 6-7 by EOY they told me

Flyer internal batteries now available.........

I found a source for Flyer batteries. They emailed me today to tell me they are now ready to ship.
Depending on the numbers of interested parties and cost of shipping from the supplier to myself in the UK and then from me to you will denote the final price of the battery. The cost will be different for everyone depending on where you live.
If anyone is interested let me know so i have an idea of numbers. I'm bringing in 10 minimum anyway but if i need more there's no problem to get some more.

I'm talking about the internal battery for the HTC Flyer. If you don;t know what i'm talking about you probably don't need one.
10 Batteries Ordered )
Hi all,
I've just ordered 10 batteries (4000mAh @ 3.7v) and have a pigtail with connector on the end identical to the original battery), and they should be here in a couple of weeks. I'm keeping 2 for myself and letting the other 8 go. If you're interested please let me know otherwise they will be going on eBay in due course at full price.
I'm selling these at the discounted price of £25 per battery + postage to wherever you are in the world. Payment in GBP (Sterling) and you pay the transaction fee.
They'll be going on eBay if there are no takers here and they will be selling at £34.99 with a set of tools to crack open your Flyer.
As soon as they are here i'll post.
In the meantime if anyone wants one please let me know as it's first come first serve.
The reason i've bought them is because i refused to pay HTC UK £60 just to open my Flyer and look at it, and another £60 to replace the battery. That's a rip off if ever there was one. Doing it myself it cost me just the price i've paid for the battery. Job done!!
Cheers,
Francis

It's very easy to do. Just a little bit fiddly but very easy to do. I opened mine the other day with a cheap pack of tools i got off eBay and i was surprised at just how straightforward it was. There's a couple of screws and some very gentle prising of the case and it comes away no problem.
There are 2 or 3 ribbon cables to undo and that's about it.

Have a look for yourself, lots of close up pictures.
Do you still have the batteries?
I'm still waiting for them to be delivered, nothing has arrived yet. As soon as they arrive i'll post and let everyone know.

Great Link!!
I could have done with that months ago before i decided to buy these batteries. Perhaps though you should have stuck it it on your own thread!!
OK folks, I'll be putting my batteries up on eBay if you want one.

Perhaps redneck....next time you can do it on our own thread.
Prey that if ever you're selling something on this forum i don't come along and post alternatives on the same thread...Just to be helpful to members of course I'll be watching your threads/postings with interest.

Speaking of batteries.....They arrived just now. Didn't take long but then they were DHL'd.
I only ordered 10 just to get a little bit of discount off them and even at that they are still much cheaper than getting them from HTC who won't sell you one anyway. And bar that rednck link i've never seen any for sale anywhere and i looked for a long time.
If i'd ordered 50 they might be a heck of a lot cheaper but £25 is cost and as cheap as i could sell them on here without losing out.
If you want one from me though it will be via eBay now.
Cheers
R they original HTC ones or copies?
The only place you're ever going to get an original (OEM) factory HTC battery is from HTC themselves and they don't sell them without HTC fitting them. At £120 for the pleasure....no thanks!!
Every other battery on the market regardless of what logo they they have printed on them or where they were manufactured will be generic. My batteries don't even say HTC on them so they can't be called copies or fakes unlike the one on your link that says HTC.
My batteries are manufactured by a well known LiPo battery manufacturer in China and they are extremely good quality. I fitted one the following day after they arrived, took less than 15 mins.
Currently my Flyer has been on since 7am and it's now nearly 6pm, I have made several calls today, used wifi and mobile network both on youtube and internet for about 20mins, made some notes, and been on standby the rest of the time.....currently telling me 91%.
It should improve a little bit more with a couple more battery calibrations over the next week or so. It will last all day long and then some now and is working as well as my original HTC battery ever did when that was new.
I don't need an original HTC battery...thanks

If you were selling a car, or some bits you had at home, or whatever you were selling, and somebody comes along and posts links to stuff being advertised elsewhere you wouldn't be too pleased would you?
This is your sale, not someone else's!! They have no business whatsoever screwing up your sale with their unhelpful link posting. They should be posting their own helpful stuff on their own thread if that's what they want to do.
That's just plain out of order and shows either mal intent on their part or, if they genuinely believed they were doing nothing wrong they are clearly to stupid to realise what they've done which is just as bad!!
It doesn't even matter if the stuff was the same price as yours, your sale/s is/are lost or will be passed by!!
Final chance to buy a battery!!
I've got 3 batteries left (with no tools) which i will offer on here for £25 + postage and you pay the PayPal transaction fee. I cannot sell them any cheaper than that otherwise they will be costing me to sell to you.
When they are gone they are gone, and unless there is more demand than i have batteries for i won't be buying any more after this.
Final chance to get one of these and you don't have long. PM me if you're interested and we'll take it from there!!

Ok since u moan so much - lets see...
1 British pound = 1.5673 U.S. dollars
25 X 1.5673 = 39,2
So battery costs 40$ + postage + transaction fee = as posted DISCOUNTED! LOL That easlly can be ower 60$
If u add that together u get 2 batteries from link i provided and since i am slow in mine head i onlly now see why is it unhelpfull. I dont know how much u payed for batteries since they can be golden as well. I simply provided a link so ppl can see how much they go for and obviuslly they go for half a price but might not be golden like yours.
So if ppl cant aford 50$+ batteries they stil might get one for 29$ (including shiping and transaction fee secured by paypal and 30 days money back waranty). Dont forget i am geting a huge provision for advertising.
Oh and enjoy monitoring mine sales for rip offs. Be welcome and post with helpfull links where ppl can see their options. U trying to make me look bad for providing a good reference wheil u charging DISCOUNTED price for batteries for rate of X2? Jezus

Your arrogance is noted Redneck and you're wasting your breath. Now you are showing mal intent and that's just fine. You're showing yourself up to being a persistent **** as well and that's OK too. You carry on!!
If you're so smart why don't you go out, buy yourself some Flyer batteries and offer XDA members a good deal instead of critiquing my offering at cost? Put your money where your mouth is instead of trying to piss me off for doing exactly that.
I didn't have to offer these batteries to xda members but i did, and i could have put them all on eBay but i didn't. Ultimately you won't do the same as me because you've got all the answers and no action, in fact you're full of ****, but i forgive you!!
Trust me when i say you'll get very little discount for buying 10 batteries from China. 50 batteries yes, but 10 very little. There's also the small matter of getting the batteries into the UK, then there is the cost of Custom and Excise charges on top when the batteries get here, and VAT on top of that again, but of course you already knew that didn't you?. Get your facts right!!
And let me tell you something else....£25 in the UK is nothing!! They are as cheap as you will get here!!! If you can get them cheaper elsewhere good for you, and If you do want super cheap batteries please get one from your own link otherwise if you're not wanting a battery from me go and bother someone that gives a toss!!

Goodbye, Rezound!

Hey guys, so yesterday I made the switch to Sprint (it's waaay cheaper than VZW here..) and in return I got rid of my Rezound in exchange for the beautiful HTC One. I'm gonna miss all the talented developers here but I'm gonna miss Snuzzo's kernel and how helpful he is the most . It sucked selling my Rezound after having it for over a year and a half. I came from an iPhone to the Rezound, so everyone here made my first Android experience a great one. The reasoning behind it is because my Rezound's digitizer plug-in was messed up after replacing my screen twice, my front housing was peeling off from opening it, the vibrating motor was broke and the battery life was..well, we know our Rezounds and their batteries lol. I never post but I feel like I'm friends with everyone here just because this community is so nice and helpful. I'm gonna miss you all .
PS the One is amazing. I'm not as wowed as I was with my Rezound because I'm already familiar with Sense and Android, but it feels great in my hands and looks amazing.
I just bought a pair of Nexus 4s for the wife and I and switched to T-Mobile. This is definitely an awesome little dev community. Many thanks to all!
Sent from my Nexus 4
First; thank you for the kind words BOTH OF YOU. Good to see I helped you. Second; Who says I won't be doing anything on the Htc One?
I will definitely miss this community too! 3 days before I leave for basic training, my battery goes south and the earliest I can get a new battery is sometime on Tuesday...when I'll already be on a plane to Ft. Jackson. Bought a GS3 on CL, and I must say, the battery life is so phenomenal compared to the Rezound. 12+ hours compared to my average 4-6.
Will definitely miss the devs! I've been here since launch day in November 2011. My oh my how far development has come!!
And now Jellybean is out! I gotta stop monitoring this board cause now I'm hurting lol

Just picked up my 3rd Rezound... a minty used one with a ton of accessories and extra batteries, for $155. Nothing about this phone makes it anywhere near obsolete, but you guys just keep chasing after the latest, greatest shiny new device, and keep spending $$$. The smarter ones will be around to pick up your dirt cheap discarded leftovers. I'm still on my very first Rezound (purchased on Black Friday 2011), I just gave a used "spare" to my wife after her old dumb phone died, and now I have another backup/experimenting phone for cheap.
THANK YOU!

Ahhh... I see. Common sense is the new Jealousy. :silly:
I could pay cash for a new One every month, and never miss the money. I don't live in my mom's basement, either. Fact remains, the Rezound is still a great device, and other than the lemming-like desire to have the "latest and greatest" (for no other reason than the dread of feeling left out of the stampede), there's no real reason to switch from it.
BTW... how much better was that Nexus than your Rezound? (my wife has one for a company-issued phone, and it SUCKS compared to her Rezound)
I am thinking of getting an S4 to replace my Rezound and use the Rezound to replace my D1. That way I can still have the best of both worlds.

I liked my Nexus way better vs my Rezound. Battery life was better, call quality was great, no creaky back and no washed out colors like the LCD on the Rezound. I do admit that the display on the Rezound is more crisp. That and all AOSP roms atm on the Nexus are way smoother for now. The only reason I dropped the Nexus is cause the screens would keep crapping out on me. Once developement starts firing up for the S4 bye bye S3! Plus if you have the financial standing to buy a new device and have enough left over in your bank for rainy days why care? Spend your money on things you enjoy! Spoil your wife and kids! When you croak and have a nice life insurance policy they'll be set for some time.

Some of us have more disposable income vs others and that's just an unfair fact of life .
Again, even though I myself CAN AFFORD to get a new device. I've not had a reason to. I guess assets and a word call saving doesnt apply when you said "disposable". Just save the "disposable" income. May need it one day.
What I am saying is go for it, but don't fill my mouth with words. Again, jealous, heck no.

When we're talking about a devices that are hobbled by the inability to replace batteries when they go dead (planned obsolescence), or upgrade memory (thus forcing users into relying on cloud storage and higher data charges), then yes... it is a lesser intelligence issue. You're playing into the provider's hands, rather than calling your own shots. (OOOoooo.... look!! SHINY!!!)

This is why I choose which shiny new device suits my needs before I buy it and drool. Plus I have unlimited data so idgaf about using cloud solutions . Some people don't care about swapping out batteries.. As most of them will already have a newer device before the battery goes bad. Lol you really think you're calling your own shots when you're contracted with a carrier? I rest my case.

Its unbranded "Made in China", its cheap doesnt mean its bad. They already sold like 200 of them , wondering if any xda memebers bought it. They give 1 month warrenty too.
I bought similar for my s4 and while they weren't as good as stock they were probably 80% of stock and I used them many times over the course of 14 months without issue. Probably will buy these for my g3

Let us know how they are
A guy on G+ G3 community got one and said the phone shut down after taking vidoes or something. Personally after speding 600 on a phone I would only buy LG brand batteries if I was to buy another one. I just read another story on a S4 that caught on fire. It had a cheap ebay after market battery.

Aftermarket batteries is one thing I would stay far away from unless they are a legitimate company with a reputation.\
Like you said, why spend $600 on a phone and cheap out on battery? Obviously, if people are buying a 2nd battery, they want it as a backup and be able to provide that extra charge. Not catch on fire or die on you.

1 month warranty is not enough. 1 month will not show anything. It can happen at 1month and 1 day. You're out of warranty. Now what?
You get what you paid.
I will wait till Tradeon on amazon have their on stock. They have pretty good review on other phone battery.
