So on launch day I purchased the 3D from Radio Shack in the Tacoma Mall. It was a bad phone...kept freezing up and resets did not help. So after making me feel guilty about how they aren't going to make any money, blah, blah, blah they swapped it out. Replacement phone worked great but it had a huge white speck under the screen. It was all I could look at. So I went back to the mall and they said they could only swap out 1 time. All I could do was cancel the new line and get my money back. Is this standard Radio Shack policy? They lost a good customer! I just wanted a working, dust free phone, and these employees take this crap personally and give me a guilt trip. I will never step into Radio Shack again. Well..off to Best Buy! They'll like my money!!

Exactly! How are they gonna lose money on a manufacturer defect? The excuse they tell me does not make any sense. I've never bought anything from BB. I hope they are better to work with!
I've never had an issue at the Radio Shack I go to occasionally. They don't lose money on a phone returned for defect. They get fully reimbursed. In fact, I think on any phone return they get reimbursed, but I'm not positive on that part. I just know for a defective unit they do.
Did you piss them off or something?

You would think I pissed them off, lol. I was nice, me and the guy who originally swapped it got along but he said that was their policy. So I had to go back home because I forgot the charger. The guy was gone and the gal that helped me basically took this personally. I left their feeling horrible like I did something wrong. The speck was HUGE, even the guy agreed.

Please contact the DM and tell him/ her about your experience. I manage a RS and yes employees get a lot of pressure from upper management about trying to avoid cell phone returns. I personally disagree with this and if enough customers voice their experiences with the DM, RS will do their best to satisy customers. They actually take customer feedback very seriously.

Thanks, appreciate the response. Do they infact lose out on money on manufacturer defects? They lost the sale, seems like that is just a lose lose for RS. That's the part I just can't understand! I'm not gonna pursue it any further, I think they're sick of me anyways. Best Buy took care of me and phone has no visible defects, runs great so far. Hopefully 3rd phone is a charm....seems to be so far!
They are really going to love me if I return it for no reason other than waiting for the SGS2....which I'm 50/50 on right now.

That and half the people that consider themselves as a very good customers are the worst. Who openly admits to something like that?
I think at my work... we have a 1 replacement rule... 3rd and on we need approval.
They won't be replaced for something stupid... it has to affect functionality... That's a rule for most places. If they swap it, they just don't know better.

Yeah I guess I'm the worst kind of customer...I expect a quality product for my hard earned cash! I'm not being picky, nobody in their right mind would have kept that phone! What company you work for, I'll be sure to never go their either because I like companies that care about customer satisfaction no matter how many times it takes to get it right.
well i would never buy any phone in radio shack ever again. At least in my local radio shack because of the stupidity they tried to pull on me.
I pre order 2 evo3d with the $50 gift card each. When it was time to pickup both phones i saw the brought out accesories and i thought to myself that i would probably get some free goodies. This was only to find out that their preorder $50 cards are only to purchase assessories and the money would not go to the phone. i was so piss about it and had a long talk with then. i refused to purchase the phone cause i never agree to anything like this in the preorder. They called the head manager over the phone and then they came back with the bull that since i was a long time customer they would allow it with me. I feel sorry for all the other guys that preorder in this store.

I used to work for a radioshack kiosk inside a sams club.
Want my opinion of radioshack?
They have great prices on phones, but GOD HELP YOU IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM!
Luckily sams club has pretty much kicked out radioshack and now the cellphone kiosk I run is completely controlled by sams club. Life is so much better now lol

Returned products are often not reimbursed at full price. Also it costs $ to repackage, ship, pay the guy at the warehouse who inspects them.. etc. So yes, it is a loss for us. (Not saying it sucks for customers, or that it was appropriate for them to tell you that, since you have no effect on it. Bad phone is bad phone.)
The policies are really there because of people who abuse them, and like everything else, a few bad apples ruin the pie. Most "defective" phones are really due to user error/abuse and that is what we have to avoid. Personally, if I see that someone's phone is actually defective, I have no problem swapping it out. But in the real world, I have a boss to answer to, so I have to work with the same restrictive policy.
As an example, I had to factory reset two 3 day old OG Evo's today that people wanted to return because they were "defective." The phones were fine, but the people had loaded so much crap on them that they were barely running. After the reset, both were working perfectly.
Hope that helps.

If you wanted an SGS2, why buy a 3D? This is one of the reasons policies like this are around.
I'll never understand why people buy things that they aren't sure they really want. All it does is waste a product that someone who actually wanted it could have had and waste a lot of everyone's time. Seems like it would be much easier for all parties involved to just make sure the one you buy is actually the one you want.

I went in during lunch to grab an Evo 3D. The guy kept trying to sell me cases and chargers and I kept saying "no thanks, just the phone."
As he was ringing it all up I remembered the new HDMI deal and that I would need a new cable now because my 4G one wouldn't work. I asked if they had the HDMI cable and he told me the phone did not support HDMI.
I asked him if he was sure and he said "there is no HDMI on the phone, only wireless HDMI." News to me. I told him I understood that it supported HDMI over the micro USB port. He told me that it did not support HDMI in any way and had another employee come over to tell me the same thing and that they were trained on the phone and Sprint said it didn't support HDMI.
I had been researching several phones so thought maybe I had my facts mixed up and checked online. After confirming the HDMI capabilities I dropped the subject, but he kept wanting to bring it up so I told him "HDMI is supported over the Micro USB port, I just confirmed it on Sprint's website" and showed him the page. He then proceeded to argue with me about it until he was done ringing up the phone - I just kept saying "okay, that's fine, whatever, etc." He finally conceded that "maaaaybe someone has invented some sort of adapter, but we don't carry things like that..."
I walked over to the wall, and proceeded to bash my head against it until it was a bloody pulp.
Okay that part isn't true.
After that he tried to force me to buy the protection plan even after I explained I already had coverage. Then he wanted to argue about how my coverage was not sufficient even though he didn't know a thing about it.
Overall the purchasing process was quick and painless, but dealing with the employee was a major headache. Sprint does a great job of publishing their specs, now they just need to get their employees to study up a bit before spreading bad information.
In a related topic, I'm finding the MHL cables online are frakkin expensive. Is there any place I can get one for less than $20 or so?

Your Sprint store staff must have taken the same training classes as my Sprint store's staff. I go in there with questions which I pretty much know the answer to and just want a 'yes we do' or 'no we don't' or 'not yet' or 'next week' regarding availability of a phone or a cable or accessories or whatever and get the same knowitall responses. Even though I know better I am polite enough to not turn into a knowitall back at them. It's just rude and accomplishes nothing...espeically with another knowitall on the other side and yes even in the face of evidence to the contrary they will tell you the wrong thing.
I just want a clear cut answer to availability of something and usually get told something that is either a complete lie to cover up a lack of availability or desire to help me or worse yet someone who actually thinks what they are saying is true.
I'm sure there are Sprint stores that are a shining example of what real CS is about. This store has one such employee, great guy, very informed and 'big picture', great to talk to....but he's never around....but either way, this store is no such shining example.

Yeah, employees will do that, it looks good for them, and depending on the store (possibly, most) they get a commission on the accessories, a bigger one then selling the phone. when I got my Evo3D the chick was nice, a joy to work with, but knew NOTHING about the phone, but kept trying to sell me cases, and screen protectors, the insurance, chargers, you name it, it was offered. she even offered some things that the phone didn't support. Super friendly, no tech knowledge.
They realize that some of us who are unemployed *cough cough* have BOTH these skills..right? *sigh*
Here is the one from Sprint. I'll find the cheaper one in a minute for you.

Yea the first thing Sprint needs to teach its salesman is the phrase "I'm not sure on that" or "let me grab the spec sheet and we'll take a look." Making things up and then defending them even when you've been shown the facts makes you sound stupid.
I tried not to get pulled into a debate about it, but it bothered me that they were giving out bad information.
im semi fortunate at my sprint store 3 of the CSRs are rooted so they know a little about the phones, but as whole they know crap.. and i know some of them have xda so they may read this.. but the last 2 phones that i purchased there (3d for myself and shift for another line) i knew more than they did about the phone.. they are cool enough, but its like they are trying to be cool with it.. one guy was so intently trying to show me CM7 on his orig EVO, after i had said that i had it on my previous phone.. he kept telling me all the benefits of rooting, like i didnt know, after he saw me boot up my old phone with a custom splash screen, boot screen, and i had told him that it was rooted up front..
but then again he also told me that he didnt know what adb really was.. that he did everything he could to stay away from it.. that he only wanted one click root methods..
but i am fortunate to have 3 rooted fellows there, so i dont catch grief for being rooted.. and they are friendly, just not the most knowledgable..
EDIT: i just let them think they are right if they try to debate me, its not worth it.. they get paid and i dont, so i usually let it drop fairly quickly..

Now, ultimately, as a life long geek I know my specs and have everything pretty much hammered down when I go in there. It's merely a matter of availability, price, upgrade statuses, promotion eligibility, etc, with a light smattering of haggling and charm for maximum effect. Aside from them being slow, which is only slightly annoying, their complete ignorance of their own product line and accessories is merely annoying...
...but what riles me up is when somebody who isn't as knowledgeable and prepared as myself walks in there and I hear one of these clueless hucksters fire up the bull**** machine and start telling people things they want to hear which aren't true or things people don't want to hear (which also aren't true) in an effort to up-sell them on a more expensive phone or service...and in either scenario it seems it isn't them being shady so much as truly uninformed...and then they pass off that lack of information onto someone else with a heftier price tag and perhaps pointless monthly service fee both predicated on the customer relying on the expertise of the CSR who is nearly as ignorant.
...yes, it grinds my gears...

My guy told me that I had to get it because of the type of phone I was buying it and I would only have the option to cancel it after 30 days. I wasn't having it so he reluctantly dropped it off.
Pains me to read threads like these...
Being someone who works at a Sprint store I know just as much if not more than some of the people who frequent the forums just because I'm on both sides of the fence. In that guys defense...he DOES work on commission. And he makes more on selling you accessories than he did by selling you the phone. Just the way it is...so obviously he's going to try and upsell. We have bills to pay just like you do and thats how we pay them. Some customers buy more...some dont. You're one who doesnt obviously.
As far as knowledge goes...I hate the fact that some of these guys dont know jack from sh*t. It gives the rest of us a bad name. When helping a customer...I give it to them straight. If I dont know and it hasnt been communicated directly from Sprint...thats what I tell them. I'm not going to lie, make something up or cover anything. I feel a customer will respect the fact that they might be asking something that Sprint just hasnt provided an answer for. If they cant then screw them.
It sounds like you all just need to find "that guy" in your local Sprint stores. I would assume every store has one. I'm not a pushy salesman...I'm a real one. I'm going to tell it like it is. I'm going to try and upsell but I wont push you into a purchase. If you decline a case...then go outside and drop your phone...thats on you. But dont come to me when you're screen is cracked and you declined both the insurance AND the case. I told you so....

I would, as long as there are no other customers around. If they can't be properly trained, then i'll gladly give them some free training and jab to the ego. If you throw it back at them with proof, then maybe it'll get them to do some research and stop them from misinforming the next person.

You are the guy I look for whenever I go into any store with sales associates. Typically every store has at least one.
I started out my first real job at 16 at a computer shop (that I would years later run, for the most part). I got the job because I had technical skills. Well, at a small shop you also have to answer phones and be a salesman. I learned early on the hard way. Shoot straight, give people options and try to do it on a level that they understand and is relavent to their life...but the biggest and hardest lesson was being in a technical position and learning how to confidently say "I don't know", come to find out that appears to be the single most difficult thing for almost anyone on the planet to do, especially at work, triply so if they work at a job that has any technical element to it.
There is no shame in not knowing, there is shame in bullshitting. Getting called out on it a few times you would figure would be enough for anyone to learn that lesson. Sadly that's not the case.
You rock on being "that guy", cuz you are the guy I look for when I go somewhere to buy something...you can help a technical guy like me because you have information beyond mere specs. You can help a non-technical person, because you can translate specs into real-language that makes sense to each customer and most of all you can say "I don't know, let me find that out for you." Where most people would be afraid to say "I don't know" for fear of looking uninformed to the customer YOU know that the customer will feel reassured to hear "let me find that out for you."

Agreed
I've been a salesmen for about 4 years and the first thing they teach in any training class is KNOW your products inside and out to avoid confusing the customer or false information and to educate to the customers features they may not know about....
Second is to know your customers needs and wants... Obviously ties into the first one but some of the sprint reps I talk to try to upsell will no good points other than "it helps you"
I'm not going to list everything I learned in the last 4 years because I'd be here for a few hours and no one wants to read it... But I think sprint needs to do some "fall cleaning". At my local stores....
3D > iClone
I was trying to get a job at a corporate Tmo or sprint store for the longest time. I get mad when I come in and have to deal with a moron who they hired that calls the evos "the Droid phones" or has no knowledge about the phones but what the little features sheet next to dummy phone says.
Sounds like the OP got one of those employees.

That would be a very acceptable trade-off. Alas, my store lacks such a perk.
ASUS seems to be pretty stiff as far as compensation and fixing the tfp issues, imo it will take legal action to force their cooperation.
Has anyone researched or know anything about bringing a CALS against ASUS for the misrepresentation of the prime? I know the main requirement would be 5mil in question, Im sure at $500 a pop 10,000 defective units sounds reasonable.
Why does people always want to make a lawsuit out of things? If you dont like it or it doesn't do want you want it to do just return it. Nobody is forcing you to buy it.
Your kidding right they didn't make any denials of returns so why sue?
Hey if we didn't discuss lawsuits for every little problem we had, that would be un-american.

The problem for some unhappy TF owners is the retailer only provides a 14 day return policy. Sometimes it takes 14 days to figure out there's a problem. Plus - if you ship to RMA - that adds 2 more weeks. The return is long past and you're on the hook with a product that doesn't match it's original specifications. I really can't comment on the legal issues, but there are reasons why something more is necessary.
I've been part of class action suits, only because I neglected to opt out. I get notification of inclusion with an opt out, and then 2 years later I get a store credit, of $20 gift card.. I always check the details of the distribution, and it's always some legal firm that gets millions, and the rest get a pittance. Trust me, that's exactly what would happen here.
So even if you think there's just cause, It will not be worth it for anybody except for some ambulance chasing firm.
Asus is making people pay for shipping to RMA for out of box defective products they deserve to have a class action lawsuit against then.
The only ones that gain from CALS are the original filer and lawyers.
Don't need anyone getting a lawyer rich in my name.
I was talking to my attorney yesterday about this. He said that advertising the Prime with a GPS and then removing that from the specs is against the law. He quoted what they law was but I don't remember. I already returned mine so it wasn't anything I would pursue anyway. Other companies have gotten in trouble for advertising something that wasn't true. Back in 2002 Hyundai got in trouble for advertising the Santa Fe had a XXXHP engine when in reality it was 20HP less. Everyone who bought one got an extra year on their bumper to bumper warranty.

I call bs or your lawyer is not smart, or maybe didn't fully understand the situation.
This is not comparable to hyundai bc they never fudged the specs, the unit indeed has a gps chip, it just doesn't work that well bc of aluminum back. In court they could argue that it works (even though very crappy) and is not a professional gps advice, and they even removed the gps wording from specs to avoid any confusion. The customer is free to return the prime if they need a better gps.
I agree asus messed up with gps, but to say that it is illegal what they did, I have to disagree. I had a og samsung epic and the gps on that sucked (and that was with a data signal) and samsung didn't even bother to remove gps from spec sheet.

Are you serious? Because without them companies like ASUS walk all over its consumers. If you are alright with that Ill sell you my 69 chevy runs great! But missing its engine...
Sure maybe a petition might work to get sw changes like the bootloader, but do you really think a petition to fix it will go through? Not without a lawyer it wont.
Consumers like you are the reason companies walk all over us. And I can guarentee when a CALS hits you wont be opting out of your cut.
Bimboy: I dont care if I get a $20 gc or a ten cents card. If it costs ASUS more money and bad rep then fixing the issue then that is sufficient to me.
Lawsuit, already?
I wonder if we are a bit early for a lawsuit. Isn't Asus, fixing some Primes already? And isn't Gary Key of Asus gathering data here, and right on this forum to fix more?
Aren't we going to give Asus some time to fix problems before shouting LAWSUIT... LAWSUIT.. LAWSUIT?

Sueing Asus over JPS/Wifi(or insert tec issue) issue is just ridiculousness. You don't like it ... take it back. It would be a little different if the thing malfunctioned and hurt someone in some weird way. Things that hurt/affect peoples quality of life ... that is understandable. Sueing companies over things like this is a waste of money and time. I would prefer Asus save that money and put it into their development instead. Everything that costs "company"... eventually always gets back to the consumer.
The product for the most part is exceptional. Everything fuctions, somethings are not fantastic like jps/wifi. Just look around on the net, this is consider'd by most reviewers the best Andriod tablet on the market to date.
I will guarentee you, if everyone returned this tablet because of the GPS/Wifi issue. you would see a new backing on this thing so fast. Asus isn't stupid. For the majority, people find the issues tolerable or they wouldn't get it. As for people who have it that can't take it back ... they would be able to sell it on Kijiji/Ebay in a heartbeat(shouldn't have to, but it is an option).

Glad to see that people are so happy to let ASUS walk all over them. The sad truth is court is often the only way to motivate companies to do right. Consumer fraud is consumer fraud returning the unit does not hold them accountable.

You sir make no sense at all. Clearly you must not have read what i wrote. I will make it plan. ASUS has done no wrong. The TFP works just not to "industry" expectations in some regards. ASUS has even gone as far as taking the GPS off of future spec sheets even though said "spec" still functions.
Ya ... i clearly allow ASUS to walk all over me because i refuse to buy a product that isn't up to my expectations(fyi i could care less about the GPS).
A company that doesn't sell anything will soon be no company at all. I thought that was common sense, guess i was mistaken.
FYI: a fraud is an intentional deception made for personal gain or to damage another individual.
^ doesn't fit this situation in anyway.
I bought one to tide me over while mine was getting fixed and now I can't return it! I was wrong about Office Depot. They don't take back electronics if they are opened. Anyone interested please let me know. I don't need two of them!

So you bought a new prime with every intention of returning it while your original prime is getting fixed. Maybe you think twice next time or make sure there is a return window.
Considering all the problems with the prime, I am sure you could convince them to tak it back. We were told the same thing about Microcenter, and they took my prime back no questions asked due to all the issues (But in my case we were honestly returning due to the issues)
I'm waiting for the next model - Not worth the cash for a device with issues (Putting foil on the face to improive wifi reconfirmed my decision to wait)
Well that was stupid. Sounds like you need an intervention, lol. If everything works on it, you should have no problem selling it. Maybe even at a profit.

For those who've never had to deal with their phone being stolen.. it's kinda like this...for me anyways.
You soon realize that some random dude: did, can and could be - right now- looking through your private files, has access to phone numbers, pictures, videos, e-mails, and voice-mails. Oh, and did I mention all of your SD card contents? In my case my external sd =16gb of pure music..
You're lucky if you haven't experienced this and I'd definitely recommend some sort of remote wipe application.. since this could happen to anyone, anytime.
It really sucks. Especially when right after you lose it, you decide to call (hoping to hear that old ring from deep between the seats) and listen in disbelief as someone actually answered! You now come to the realization that some piece of **** has stolen your phone and actually answered *a* (your) call, and is completely clueless of how to hang up. As you stand at a payphone shouting and yelling in what feels like your toughest, manliest voice, demanding the return of your phone at once.. you know it's g-o-n-e.
Anyways.. sorry about that. Had to get that off my chest :crying:...
So anyways.. with the Rezound forum having turned into a ghost town of sorts and many cool phones having come out or planned to.. What would you do? So far I replaced 1 Rezound so this would be my third! I'm thinking of going a diff route this time to be honest.. and since I haven't been keeping up with the latest news and stats of phones.. maybe I can get some opinions/ideas/help from some fellow Rezound owners :fingers-crossed:
Here's some info:
- I have insurance through 'Protect Cell' (awesome by the way!!). It will cost me somewhere between $100-125 for a *Brand-new* non-refurbished Rez to show up next day.
- I can use an upgrade from Verizon :victory:
- I prefer newer/newest phones so I don't have to think about upgrading too soon.
- Price isn't really an issue but I do want to stay with Verizon since I have unlimited 4G data :silly:
- I love rooting and modding/customizing my phones!
Thanks everyone for reading this thread and taking the time to share your opinions. !!

I had this happen with my DInc, it was a sad moment in my life. I had just put in a new digitizer and front housing piece so the phone looked brand new!, Got myself an otterbox case for the phone, and rooted the heck out of it. Nest thing ya know its gone a week later and I'm purchasing a Thunderbolt to replace it! It was heartbreaking because I just made it so beastly and then someone else reaped the benefits of it. Good thing I didnt have any Pics or anything on it, Although they did get away with my 16GB Memory Stick :-/
Sorry for your loss. I can't imagine the pain in ass that must be. It's not just the time you put into the phone but all the personal stuff. I just don't get why people don't do the right thing and return the phone. Regardless I still retain some faith in humanity and will always place my name with an alternate phone number on my lock screen. Either get another rezy and wait for next nexus or get gs111?
I just had this happen to me a couple of weeks ago. Went out bar hopping and must have left it on the bar and somebody swiped it. Not only did they go to my facebook and post all kinds of gay **** they emailed all my work contacts with vulgar messages. I had Lookout Security on it so I could locate it, then i remote wiped it. I was going to go to the location of the phone myself but thought better of it, I would have killed that little punkass thief. So, I let the police go retrieve it for me. But, Lookout Security definitely worked great. It allowed me to track the phone in realtime from their website.
But in regards to what I would do if I was you, I'd go with a SGS3 or a GNexus on Verizon, if you're a person who likes to be a member of a forum that is actually alive. This forum is basically dead.

Thanks for your response. To touch on the refurbished issue- I can assure you that the replacement I received was a BRAND new Rezound. The only thing is they don't send you an ext SD card with it. What you DO get is a new battery and phone and that's about it (my replacement was for a water-damaged phone). I wonder since the phone is stolen will they send me an SD card along with the phone this time.. that would make sense..? I was pretty bummed when my first replacement was missing the SD card!! I was like holy s*** an extra one! WOOT! but.. then no SD in the package :\ I had my original so I can't complain/be greedy
About unlimited- so that's how it is now??? Before when upgrading and not changing your account data/minute plans would result in keeping your original plan- even if it was now discontinued (grandfathering is what I've heard it called)... in my case it was the unlmtd 4g.
If I understand you correctly- you're telling me that ANY phone upgrade through verizon (with or without upgrade date discount/renewal of contract) it will in-fact change your data plan -- in other words- no matter what you can't avoid it??? Dude.. NOOO!!! that screws me in getting a brand new phone through an upgrade date... And obviously buying private or online etc. used, it will be more expensive versus upgrading at the verizon store and getting brand new I can't imagine using a phone with a limit on my data.. I use an OBSCENE amount of Data. I have never enabled Wi-fi on my phones.. ever. Ever!.. So now I have some thinking to do.. anything else i should know? is there anything I/we can do to keep unlimited besides buying outside of verizon
Let's just put it that way.
Thank you again for taking the time to respond and I appreciate you letting me know that important fact!
And yes, ProtectCell is one of the best decisions and purchases I've made. Overnight shipping, brand new phones, and secure shipping accompanied by great customer service. It's just easy and the smart thing to do. Wow I sound like a commercial! LOL

if you use an upgrade and get a discounted phone from verizon, you are forced off of unlimited. You can pay full retail at verizon without problems or get your phone from another source. Basically, if you renew your contract, unlimited is gone.

I have to admit they are pretty annoying and I never liked them. When I got home I suspended my service without bill pay.. and that was all I could do so I really regret not downloading an app with features like remote wipe and gps tracking as has been mentioned.
So if I'm completely understanding this data conundrum.. you can't avoid it because you will have to renew your contract eventually at some point and then poof :/
I keep thinking about how it would suck to buy a phone that's been out for a bit to miss out on a newer one due to $. So, seeing as how it's only $120 for a new rezound, it could be the wiser option.
I don't know the prices of the phones you guys mentioned in used/like New/ and *New* (unopened box by private party) conditions are though so gotta do some research.
I like the rezound but to say I haven't wondered what a different phone would be like would be a lie.
I just hope this thread can serve as a reminder to someone out there who's delaying getting an app for situations like this. I didn't think this could or would happen to me.. my phone and I were inseparable. Don't learn the hard way when you can learn from my mistake
This community is awesome too. It's sad thinking about leaving :/ Supportive, friendly and close-knit.

I was going to say the remote install feature here could be a life saver. Unless you wait too long. Then they might have time to wipe it.
My X2 is having some issues that I have just been putting up with, but I was thinking about using my insurance on it. I would really rather try to wait until they don't stock X2's anymore though so I can get a different model. Has anyone had to get a replacement lately or know if they're still stocking them? I saw that a few users received a Nexus or Rezound as a replacement back in September . However I tried on November 25th and they were back in stock. Just curious, I couldn't bring myself to pay a $100 for another X2.
Thanks
I'm not real sure if "using my insurance" is something you really wanna post up lol. If you are gonna have to pay $100 for your deductable and it not be what you really want, why not save up an extra $100 to add to it and buy a good used device? Also avoid any kind of mischief that may come about.

Haha, well no shadiness implied, sorry if it came across that way. My screen is messed up and I've kind of been holding out in hopes of them running out of stock. I thought about just getting a used phone but then I thought it might be smart to keep my insurance going. I figured there isn't much difference if I pay them the $100 now or in a few months when I could maybe get a different device. Does that sound shady? I'm really not a shady guy hah.
I agree with tallyforeman. A used Galaxy Nexus online for less than 200 bucks is what I am going to do.

I should've used the term "file a claim" rather than "using my insurance". But anyways, I have almost bought multiple used phones but I'm always just worried I'll get it and something will malfunction with the device and I'll have to go buy another used one. I guess my X2 has kind of soured me on the idea of getting a used phone. I've had to have Verizon replace 4 of them due to the audio jack malfunctioning which caused the phone to act completely sporadic. I may end up with a used device in the long run just so I can keep my unlimited.
I'm picking up what you are putting down. Its not really the expressions "file a claim" or "using my insurance" but more of the "act" of using those options deliberately haha. Don't be so skeptic on a used device. Do your homework. You'll be fine.
