Just wondering if more people have this issue. After installing 8773 thorugh Zune the front face camera is not working anymore. Camera app is crashing or showing black screen. Only way to restore back camera functionality is by resetting the phone.
Anyone else having this issue? I see some with similar camera issue but not sure if this is for frontface camera only.

Try to install with the ROM that Football has in his link for Titan ROMS...probably a bad update occured.
If the problem continues, go to Assistance for repair :good:

My camera worked initially but after switching it to front cam and back I can't get it to display anything and it will force close after 5 seconds.
Face unlock works without a problem and I have tried clearing the camera's data.
3rd party camera apps also fail with the same problem.
Any ideas? I am unrooted and no modifications done yet. Just got the phone yesterday..

Thats looks like a system failure... Unrooted...
Try switching phone on and off. Be sure the problem didn't come from a recent app instaltion. Factory reset with a reliable backup and if that didn't help ring samsung. If not you could try flashing a different ROM but chances of that fixing it aren't that great!
I had this yesterday when changing video resolution, not happened since.

So when i open up my camera app the screen in just black and i can see all the buttons on the app. I tried downloading a different camera app and still its just picking up a black screen. Anybody else ever have this issue or know of any possible solutions. Ive already tried restarting the phone...
For Example
Heres what im seeing.
What Rom are you on? Need some details. Best thing to do is revert to stock and see if it works. If it still doesn't...it's a hardware issue and need to get it replaced.
Sent from the "ONE" phone for me
Flashed a new rom issue solved. Thanks!
I have had the Xperia Z2 for three days now, after giving my wife my Galaxy S4. Today a problem started occurring that hasn't happened so far.
When I boot into the camera from lockscreen by holding down the hardware camera button, when I try to take a photo the camera app freezes. It will either simply freeze, or it will pop-up the lockscreen asking for my security pattern, or it will allow me to depress the button to focus, but it will never actually take the photo. When I turn the screen off, re-open the screen and log-in using security pattern, I see the "Unfortunately, Camera has closed" error. On a few occasions I have been unable to re-open camera app from the app draw until I reboot the phone.
Bringing up app info and clearing data fixes the problem temporarily, but it comes back. Once the problem starts, it will happen every single time until you delete camera app data.
I am running the stock Australian ROM (Telstra branded unfortunately). Build number 17.1.A.2.55. I have yet to root or unlock bootloader as I am checking for issues like this and other reported problems first.
Has anyone experience this? Does anyone have a solution?
I have the same problem booting into the camera to take video. This happens 5 out of 10 times.
Video recording would freeze and crash the app.
My Xperia Z2 is on Build number 17.1.A.2.55 from Telstra.
Let me know if you have a solution to this!

Did ya install some mod for camera? Or is it even rooted? If not it is sony's fault just take it back to shop. It is not meant to happen by any reason.
I purchased my Xperia Z2 from Australian Telco Telstra, and not having issue. So I guess it is not matter of software? Before it get worse or mess it,
I strongly recommend you to take it back to shop and explain everything and show it to shop assistance.

Me too, I opened up the board, and if I press hard on the camera connector part and open,it sometimes works, so I tried adding a little bit of padding behind it, so still it isn't working. Even the flashlight app is working so I think it might be a software or connector or mother board issue because sometimes the camera pens up fine,so definetly its a very mysterious problem. My camera actually stopped working while I was using Camera FV 5... While using te screen just turned white with some green lines,,, I thought it might be a bug and restarted the app.. But then i got the "cant connect to camera" error for the first,, from then it has continous..
I will try opening it up and try something again today..
Definetly its a software related prob.... My cam is now working
DEVICE: HAM 2 | Wind Mobile but OEM Converted
So I got the OTA update yesterday and I decided to download B320 from the B309 Huawei released earlier and my camera does not work anymore!
I know this is a software malfunction because I just reverted back to B309 and the camera works 100% fine
The error I got was "Unable to connect to the camera", there's more too it but I forgot what it said
The things I tried
- Rebooting/Shutting off, waiting, and turning it back on
- Factory reset
- Reset device cache
- Reset cache for all apps
- Delete Delvik Cache
Only thing that worked for me was to revert back to B309 -_-
Please help
Front rear or both ??
I'm on B320. Both cameras are working. I've noticed that you can't access the graph which displays how your battery is being used with time. Can you check that? Go to settings, battery and then click on the third option showing how long you've been on battery.

This is a documented bug in 320. Hope they fix it in next version.

I am having no issues with the camera on 320. Other FUT testers are reporting no camera issues, other than HDR may not be working.

I am not having any camera issues either on 320. HDR seems to work fine for me. Wish there was a way in the settings to leave HDR on as the default. Each time I go into the camera to take a picture, I have to clock settings and then put HDR on. Kind of a pain.
