If i were to buy the S3 from sprint, then unlock it and use it with ATT; will i be able to use the google wallet and pay with it?

Yes, Google Wallet is carrier agnostic.
But it HAS to be from sprint right? Or so says the google wallet device compatibility page.
Lol nvm. Just remembered that sprint is cdma so its impossible anyways.
So no google wallet for international or att s3 right?

From waht I know, Google Wallet is attached to your google account. It shouldn't matter whether it's international or not, you sign in with that G Account and it will work. But I dunno for sure.
Im talking about the NFC google wallet in which you pay with your phone. Not the one you pay on the play store. Not sure if you know what i mean.
Google wallet (nfc) isnt compatible with all devices. So thats why im asking, and if anybody got it working on their non sprint s3.
Thanks though

Sprint must be giving up on google wallet. Since all the other carriers have "Isis", Sprint is getting their own wallet

Fine by me, Google obviously doesn't feel like even making an attempt to make their product work with our phones.

Google wallet going by the wayside?
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
I saw a lot of people posting that google wallet works for them on Sprint but has anybody been able to get it to work for AT&T?
I even tried the below link and it gives me the not supported error no matter what method i try.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1365360
Same here. I think it is because AT&T has their own payment app incoming. Or Google didnt authorize it for our phones yet.

Do you know what the name of the att payment app is or when it will come out?
It's called isis. No release date yet.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
they should just allow the google one until isis is ready ffs
It states it has NFC, but will it be able to use Google wallet. I know Verizon doesn't want users to have or use Google wallet, however haven't seen anything addressing this. It it will be able to do Google wallet, this WILL be my next phone.

it been asked in a couple of threads, and currently you can download the google wallet app, but when you try to use it it pops up with an error about it not being supported your device or mobile network
I currently have the nexus, and mine says unsupported, but still works. I guess I will order the phone and see what I can do.

hopefully the wonderful devs can get it to work, since currently that pops up right after you try to launch the app. it doesnt even go into the app
No verizon does not support google wallet. Currently sprint is only one with google voice and wallet. I have the evo lte and yeah i do have wallet but the damn thing is a pain in the azz to deal with if you flash alot. You have to flash it seperately and wipe it clean after every flash and reset it up everytime. Everytime you flash a rom you will have to reset up card info name addy etc. I quit using it isnt worth the time or hassle.

I dunno though i get the same unsupported message with my evo on sprint being rooted. Not many places take it anyhow and it really doesnt save much time. Ive found that many places there end is messed up. This is definately something that is something that makes no difference to me if it has it or not. I have it and dont think ive used it in over a month.

Another EVOLTE user here, I believe that the need to wipe gWallet settings between flashes has been resolved and no longer needed FWIW....

But that alone means nothing. Wallet is still is not supported on Verizon and it is sounding like we'll need a modified version to side-load for Wallet to work.
Yeah, I tried to install it from the play store. It opens then tells me the device/network is not supported and quits. Such a shame. F'in Verizon...
wallet downloaded from the market fine...then when it opened it said "Unfortunately, Google Wallet is not yet available for your device or mobile network."
anyone get it working on your Verizon S4 yet?
Thanks,
Anyone?

This. They still claim it's a security issue so the fcc/etc doesn't crawl down their throats.

And as a side note Isis won't work on a rooted phone.
Sent from my SCH-I545 using xda premium
I am willing to wager that the same method I used on my S III and Note II to get it working will be coming to the S IV.
It works with no workaround on my One because of good guy Sprint. I just wish their coverage wasn't so crap.

Anyone yet? Just rooted and looking to get this working to. So annoying VZ
I know on other models of the phones you could get around the initial setup of the application by changing the build.prop to the verizion galaxy nexus. Then one the app was installed and setup you could revert the build.prop change so you would get normal suggestions for compatible apps on the play store.
Not sure if this works on the GS4 but it has on other NFC enabled Verizon phones.

I think now you can used the xposed framework to work around it without having to mod your build.prop.
http://www.modaco.com/topic/361634-xmod-modaco-toolkit-for-xposed-framework/
So I really like the idea of google wallet and would like to have it on my att htc one. I tried xposed/modaco toolkit and google wallet crashes during the setting up google wallet phase.
After trying a few different roms, I waited for the GE edition ROM hoping that would solve it. It didn't, I am still having the same problem with wallet crashing during the setup process.
Anyone have any suggestions? I would donate a good chunk of change if anyone could program a solution or come up with one.
I dont mean to sound like a **** but there are NUMEROUS threads about this very topic, and I can assure you that once someone makes Wallet available to us AT&T One users, it will be on the front page of every mobile device tech site
I can't get it to set up. But I did get it installed..... Driving me crazy. I may switch to the s4 just because this issue.

According to this article on Engadget AT&T HTC One does not have a 'chip' for wallet in it
"Since this Google Play edition is based on AT&T's version, it lacks the chip required for Google Wallet"

Sounds crazy. The chip is the the NFC Chip . Or if not what chip else should that be ?
I thought it was NFC too. But after reading this I have doubts..
