Need help with ICS ROM - Motorola Droid RAZR

Hi everyone! I'm new with motorola, and i'm not used to the utilities and terms you use here, so I need a little help to install a ROM if you don't mind I have searched through the forums and what I have finally understood is the following, please correct me if I am wrong at anything, I wouldn't like to brick my phone at the first day lol
I would like a rom with the stock interface of android from google (the most similar to nexus stile), and searching through the forums I have found this wich seems to be really nice: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1734893
Now I am at gingerbread (ICS blocked from mobile company -.-), and as it is said in the thread to install it I need to be on ICS (Latam) allready, so I think that first I need to flash this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1753383
This needs to be flashed through RSD lite with the phone turned on, doesn't it? with the USB debugging enabled, and media sync? Then I run RSD lite and just open the xml file...
and to instal the rom from epsilon project, it is said in the thread that it has to be done through some kind of "BootMenu Recovery", and with a full wipe. What is that BootMenu Recovery? I have searched and I have found a touch CWM based recovery for Razr and the "Bootstrap recovery". Is this BootMenu Recovery mentioned in the thread the generic name for both of them so I can use any? Or is it a different recovery?
I hope you can help me with my questions, I know they are really noob but I am new to motorola and I don't understand much from this forums. Anyway as you can see I have tried to search before making stupid questions. Thanks in advance to anyone wanting to help, and of course for all the devs from XDA that make our lives a little easier

Ok, i first tried flashing the Latam firmware, and I got a failure message from rsd lite. I tried several times, and allways the same. I attached a picture showing it. Any idea of what I'm doing wrong? does the bootloader need to be unlocked or the phone to be sim-unlocked to flash firmwares through RSD lite as in other phones? thanks in advance

Sorry, forgot screenshot, here it is

In my opinion, not really a "best" root...........either your rooted or not. Of course, if you want to go beyond rooting there's lot's of info here to assist with your desires.
The forum would need detailed info on what you want to accomplish......
Good luck. Search is your friend!

There is only one called Razr utility. Mattgroff created it.

There are two utility threads by mattgroff. One for CDMA and one for CDMA and GSM. But at least you narrowed it down considerably.
Thanks! (Yeah, I hit the button)

First, that's NOT zedomax's method. He regurgitated zergRush, which was the work of DoomLord and some other contributors - of which he was NOT one of. And I don't think he gave credit, either.
Second, I believe it doesn't work with newer releases of 2.3.6, which the OP is on.
Third, the OP already said he tried this method. (well, actually, he said "zerg". Pretty safe bet he meant this)

I figured you did, you asked a question in another thread I answered, where I told you explicitly to use G kernels.
However, I don't see any attempt on your part to "unbrick" your phone. Have you tried at all? Sometimes "bricked" phones are recoverable... How is it "bricked"? Does it boot? Can you get it into download mode if it can power on?

After i flashed kernel it wont boot but odin says PASS.. Idk why and i cant go to download.. Its a hard brick.. I already sent my phone to samsung customer care and i ask them if i can trade my g version for non g version, they gonna give my a new gt i9100 next week..

sorry, i knew that wasn't his method, i just meant he used it to root his phone. I wasnt meaning to give him ANY of the credit for it, although he does advertise it pretty well for noobs.
And i wasn't aware that it didn't work for the newer versions, i rooted not too long ago and it worked fine, but i don't think my carrier updates firmware often..
i was just letting him know my experiences

[Q] [Help] Droid Razr xt910 restarting, baseband/imei unknown

hi i really need your help badly
my razr(xt910) is restarting and baseband/imei unknown. i tried some roms and flashin it with rsd and fla**** but no luck. im out of option
can i anyone familiar with this problem?
please i really need your help guys
Hey,
Where're you from and what fastbootfile you've used. Maybe you flashed the wrong for your Country.
im from philippines. how can i detect my phone to where it from?
i used this and no luck same problem
-SPDIRD-40_ASIA_RT_1C.91P_CFC_P2B_Signed.xml
-SPDREM_U_01.6.5.1-73_SPU-11-PASS-10_SIGNEuropeAustraliaEMEA_USASPDRRTGB_HWp2b_Service1FF_fastboot.xml
-SPYDERIRD_U.01.26.0_SPD-IRD-21_SIGN_ASIA_OPERATOR.xml
http://sbf.droid-developers.org/
Here's an Link 4 actual Fastboots.
I think you need Asian Fastboots, but you've tried them already.
I know, this one has an Asian Baseband (93) so maybe give it an try..
http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umt...USASPDRRTGB_HWp2b_Service1FF_fastboot.xml.zip
ok sir i will try it now after download.
still no luck sir .. same problem
Open your slot, where your sd card is in. There you'll find your IMEI.
With this you can figure out the right firmware for your phone over Motorola support.
Try this...
anyone with same issue who solved this problem?
Sounds like it got wiped something with Sammy we had tools to back up, if finding the right stock ROM doesn't work there may still be hope since some SGSII users managed without a backup.

Sounds like you need to reflash a radio image. I had the same problem going back to stock GB from the Chinese ICS leak.
Have a look in the development forum for the stock radios thread, flash one of them manually through fastboot. That should fix it.
is that can use to xt910?
No but you may have a search them sides as some users had it fixed since not even jtag would sort it.
Edit: When have time later I'll try find some info.
Another option would be fastboot stock and use warranty no mention of root etc but could say it happened on ota update or the likes...

Do not say that we are not helpfull man!
Maybe no one that read your post has found a solution yet!!!
I actually stopped in this thread once ready to help this guy out but he mentions he is on froyo...
MY device came with Gingerbread, so rooting is as easy as user superoneclick (heck, there is a youtube video talking about how easy it is to root on the 5 but the 4 will be able to do the same). Sadly, advising this with this froyo uncertainty might have the potential of bricking the device, so I passed by this thread saying nothing. So I'll just do this...
Did you do a OTA update through your device's settings and check if there is a Firmware update? Once in Settings, go near the bottom and click the ABOUT button and click system updates - wifi is of course needed but wifi is everywhere even Mcdonalds for free. Update your rom accordingly to get to Gingerbread at least on the device. Then check this video -
www.youtube.com/watch?v=aA4bw8bU4T4
Once rooted, check this thread to choose your kernal and rom you want to flash -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1720457
I highly advise Ethereal rom [or Icy Fusion], and for the kernal Terrasilent [or Klin Rev 3] . Be sure to flash the Kernal FIRST not the rom so you can have recovery features in case things go wrong.
P.S. You probably got bypassed btw due to heavy focus is being brought towards other thread s like the ICS thread for 4.0 device or everyone has a thread they particular hang out in. Or it could be that these type of threads like yours pop up so often every month that the people here just glaze over the threads like these telling themselves why don't they do a search in google (like I searched "root samsung Galaxy Player 4" and my first link above is the first one that pops up in google, which is the video i referenced to root mine the first time) or check the All in one thread in the developers section of the Samsung Galaxy Player 4/5 forum (which I linked above as well). I don't mind helping though but that might be because I'm kinda still new here...

You can use Samsung's Kies to upgrade to the latest firmware.
However if you have rooted and modified some stuff, there might be a chance of getting your device bricked.
Also, make sure you have pressed Power+VolDown+Home key to get into flashing mode when you use odin.

Excuse my ignorance, but the ROMs in this link make reference to them being for or from the Europe region? If I'm using a phone on Sprint from the US, bought in the US, would it be a different ROM?
