So I called HTC and told them my case wasn't defective , the power button wouldnt work and it had bad signal, so they sent me a new case but it was on backorder for nearly a month, so finally yesterday I received my new case and everything is working perfect. The power button works all the time now and my signal is 10 times better. I think they improved the back case because this is my second one, the first one they sent me had power button problems and bad signal. Just some fyi. For yall

Well the phone wouldn't wake when I pressed it , it would take like 4 to 8 times before turning on.

Hey guys so I got my N2 yesterday and I'm loving it so far!
I have already rooted, unlocked and put a custom rom on, but I think this was happening out of the box as well.... Does anyone else get a delay when you press the power or home button to wake up the phone? I usually press the button and then the screen will come on about a second later.
Is this normal? Thanks!

If you underclocked it, then that mighr be it. In "sleep mode"

Please use the search button before posting a new thread.
To fix it try to turn off all the extra features under the lock screen settings. Ripple, wake up commands, etc.

How do you know if he searched or not?
Im using Adam's rev3 with all the options enabled under the lock screen.. no lag of any kind here.
I'm running Beans Build 3 with the stock kernel. I'm not running power save mode and unchecking all the lock screen options didn't help.

I would rather wait a quick second to unlock the phone than run a UI that feels like a 400 pound person is sitting on it.

It's just a small delay. When I press the power button it will take a quick second for the screen to come on so I can unlock the phone.

When I turn on the screen on mine it takes a second too. I think its normal. Stock and everything.

Oh ok. I'm on clean rom 3.5 and I don't have that. I thought you were talking about something else?
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
this is how all the notes i've used have been.
This is a common occurrence; press the power button and it takes a second or so for the screen to come on (whereas on most phones it would be instantaneous). I have seen many people say that they have this issue. I have it as well. I had it on stock and I have it on Beans v3. It would seem that it is just a quirk of the phone.

Ok thanks guys for the responses! I'm assuming that this can be easily fixed with a software update right? It's not a big deal either way but I just wanted to make sure that it was normal.

I have read something on this. I am a little vague on it and need to find the thread again, because I have this as well. I have been too lazy to fix it.
I believe is has something to do with a double click option. When you press the power or home button to wake it up it waits a brief second in case another click comes. If you turn off this feature it will wake faster.
I could be way wrong but I think I read about it a while back.

Sorry forgot about this thread lol... It was a BRAND NEW note that asurion sent me the week before christmas. It worked fine and I'm 98% sure it was the new stock battery as well. Though I normally use ankers but I figured fresh battery was cool. Luckilly that Friday night I had been too tired and fell asleep without charging it or this would have happened while I was asleep. Saturday morning I put it on the charger next to my bed around 730ish and it was at ~40% . Me and my daughter were laying in the bed watching spongebob when I heard a hissing noise, and I looked over to see steam shooting from my battery like the old pipes in movies . I took my daughter out of the room and heard a little pop then when I looked in the room my phone was on fire... Literrally burst into flames.... God is good. Could been A LOT worse. Still waiting to hear from Samsung.

I had a very weird problem!
After 3 months without any bug on my S3 I started to have very long GPS fix time (about 15 minutes) and some times non fixing issue...
I Tryed everything since change rom, give some punches, replace the battery, change kernels, etc...
Suddenly and by chance I figured out that the new case a friend gave to me was blocking the signal!!
What the hell!!!!
I have been using many kind of cases including thick rubber one and only this innocent and thin one caused it!!!
Hope it can help someone.

Nastiest aspect is, that when using the phone now against your head listening.
The radio waves are directed towards your head trying to escape!
This should be a health issue too. More of a reason to use the headset now

Get a case with a cut on the top left corner in the back.
I was trying earlier and I guess its not available for this Phone. You have to do the power and home button trick. That sucks!

Could you please explain just how to 'turn it on'
And how to do a palm swipe screenshot?
This will be useful to other new users too and a great reference.
Thanks a... And I've added a thanks to Kangburra!
I didnt turn nothing on. Its already on. All you have to do is swipe but make sure the sensors up by the camera see the tips of your fingers.

Anyways my phone has a couple scratches on the side because I dropped it once. The screenis clean woth no scratches at all since it had a screen protector the whole time.. do you you think samsung will cover it under warranty?
I can't see any reason why they wouldn't.
