Hi,
if your phone is S-ON rooted, not all roms are working. The most roms need a S-OFF root.
So if you want to use all roms, you have to unroot your EVO 3D (flash a stock rom and use a RUU) and root it the S-OFF way. It's not very complicated!

Oh, i just had seen that you don't have to unroot it and root it again.
You can use this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1535987
ROMs which will work now and I can recommend:
-Virtous Eclipse [New Sense 4.0, but not very fast for games and 3D and WiFi Tethering not working]
- KingCobra3D [Fast Sense 3.6 ROM, everything working]
- Leedroid 3D [Very fast, you can overclock up to 1,94 GHZ, but old Android 2.3 with Sense 3.0]
I hope I can help you,

Why don't you try going S-OFF? It's not hard at all, just try the wire trick.

The juopunutbear method for hbotot 1.5 works and it's really easy. And as far as CDMA ROMs go I would highly recommend ZREDX. When i had S-ON it worked. It's just better now with S-OFF.
Getting S-off is easy and once you do MeanRom ICS is great. Seriously great battery life and very fast and smooth. Was my second daily driver for this phone. (Cdma evo 3d) also I should point out I'm a total noob wen it comes to this stuff but YouTube and xda are your friends and I did it with very little issue. Get s-off and never look back.

This is the GB version of my favorite ROM. Since you are S-on, you will have to flash the kernel separately using 4ext Smart Flash (see my signature), Flash Image GUI, or fastboot. Using one of those, this one should flash fine. Then you can get S-off and go to ICS (although you might just stay with GB since this ROM is that good ).

LLook up joeykrim's Flashimage GUI app on the market. I;m not sure if it supports GSM but its the only way anyone above hboot 1.40 can flash a kernel
Thanks will try now.
Thanks heaps worked straight away.
Hi, I rooted my 3vo with revolutionary about 6 months ago and didn't do much except debloat and install adfree, been messing with my HP touchpad since....
I'm looking for a Rom with all 3d features, no sense and as lite and fast as possible. I've searched the GSM development pages and quite liked the leedroid Rom and CM7 but it seems I would need to flash a radio and kernal and I really don't want to get that envolved as I need my phone for work everyday. Any GSM users have any good suggestions? Thanks

Leedroid! You shouldn't need to change your radio. And u can flash the stock CPU settings in the op if u don't want to mess with the kernel. I've been running it for a while now and imo its one of the most stable for everyday use.
P.s. it does include sense tho.

Ok cool thanks, I think I will give it a try, I understand I can just flash the rom and kernal zip in recovery but the paragraph he's written about Radios confuses me. If I flash the ROM and zip do I need to add a radio or will my current radio remain?? I've read a lot of pages in the leedeoid thread but can't find anything specific!

I keeping getting a bootloop on all ics roms and I tried a kernal that someone recommend but it kills my 3d and i get random reboots . Is there any way to fix this problem and install the ROM with everything working. I'm on hb 1.50 . S- on . Or is there a way to downgrade to hb 1.40 but i don't have a Linux . What's the easiest way ?

You can always try 4EXT Recovery with smartflash on. It works for both S-On and S-Off

try a superwipe. that fixed mine. Look in the dev forum for it (i think you can find it in the mean rom thread)
You could also downgrade using the instructions in the development thread. Ir doesnt require Linux, it includes a downloadable bootable CD. ITA damn near an automated process minus the brick part. And +1 for 4ext recovery it has features built just for S-on.
My other shooter is an FNAR .308
I already tired a super wipe and my netboot doesn't have a cd drive .

Try using any of Chad.Goodman's ICS Kernel after flashing an ICS ROM
1) DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK
2) USE THE RIGHT KERNEL

Well what kernel did you use, you could be flashing the wrong one. The other option is to downgrade HBOOT ,, no linux required

I got my ICS ROM to work by flashing RLS1
I doubt downgrading HBOOT will help, he's getting it to work with Chad's kernel. I'm exhibiting the exact same issue with bootloops with the stock kernel(in my case I used the shooter ice kernel to get it to boot) and I'm S-OFF/GSM so I'm pretty sure the issue isn't HBOOT related.
Same here
I have the same issue. I use 4ext with smartflash for recovery. I'm able to flash any GB rom I want, but when I try an ICS rom with a stock kernel I get the boot looping. Is there any other way to make this work? I don't want to dig into the brick/unbrick business if I can help it. I have also tried using Flash Img GUI and fastboot/adb to flash the kernel with the exact same results. Any information on this would help, but a solution would be fantastic!
._. I see what's going on... It's GSM users trying to flash CDMA kernels once again.

+1 to this. The stock Ics kernel does not do well with 1.5 s-on. Since you cannot downgrade to 1.4 s-off, you should try the new 1.5 s-off method. Otherwise you have to use a custom kernel which is not 100% yet.

Seems like no stock ics kernels like 1.4 hboot period with or without s-off. None would work for me until i updated my hboot to 1.5 and had s-off.

I recommend you read all about it first as you have to connect two contact points on your phone using insulated wire, which sounds kind of dangerous.

You need to flash chads rls 1 kernel, from what ive read its the only way to get booted on HBOOT 1.5
can u send me a download liink please
you're honestly better off not flashing that Kernel. you need true S-Off for the real ICS experience. that kernel will make everything laggy/buggy and charging will not work while phone is on, as well as random resets AND 3D/4g will not work.
One of the main reasons I decided to S-off is to use the stock Linux 3 kernel on ICS and EVERYTHING works flawlessly so far! look in the development section for jopounutbear's S-off guide, should be on the first page. took me a couple tries but it's worth it. Truly made me feel like I got an early upgrade and a new phone!
If you S off with that trick, PLEASE read the entire thread. Also, try 4ext as your recovery and see if if you can flash ICS roms with it. While some the majority of people were able to use the wire trick successfully, some people were having lots of issues as well.
Personally, 4ext recovery worked beautifully for me and the wire s off method was a nightmare. Best of luck to you!

The problem is not your recovery Chads Rls 1 kernel will break 3d but 3g and wifi are good. The only way around it is to downgrade HBOOT then you wont have to flash rls 1, the stock ics kernel is fully functional

An unlocked bootloader is NOT s-off... I HIGHLY recommend you downgrade or to gain the True s-off . Installing an ICS Rom on an unlocked bootloader just means your lazy. It's like eating an Artificial ice cream sandwich. AKA not original, changed. Not as good. I don't know.

Wire Trick
I did the wire trick and it worked like a charm. I have s-off on hboot 1.5. I am running InbreDed ICS 5.1 and my 3D is working perfectly.
I have been looking for a JB ROM for my HTC EVO V 4G for some time now, but I can't seem to find one that supports what I have. I am running hboot 1.57 with S-ON (I once tried getting S-OFF and bricked my phone for nearly a day-spent 7 hours trying to fix it-never doing S-OFF again!). I'm currently running the epic NegaLite Blue ROM. Any suggestions?
AFAIK, you must get s off first.
Your best bet for jb look for s on, is to install a launcher, or flash a senseless rom

Without s-off you can't flash JB rom. You have to do s-off first. That's because you need new kernel, you can't change your kernel with s-on.

Yes, it's possible with this app or maybe fastboot (im not sure), but impossible in your recovery.

At that point, you are free to try any hboot, rom, radios, etc.
As for me, ive tried Negolite, SmoothCriminal, PacMAN, and now Wild For The Night.
The Jelly Bean Roms (PacMAN and Wild For The Night) have by far been the ones i like best. I could not get MMS working on PacMAN so i went to WFTN and i got every feature of the phone working perfect (except for 3D which doesnt work on any JB rom at this time)
The rom really depends on what fits ur lifestyle and ur taste. i like the smooth look of a JB rom and the features of the camera.
