i inserted a sim card with international roaming but a triangle is coming and in my notifications it said
Lost data connectivity
what does this mean?
Plus i have signal bars without and with the SIM card, the only difference is when i insert the sim card, there is an R with the signal bars
is my device factory unlocked or not? and will any carrier work on it or not?

Many networks allow the device to connect even without a (valid) SIM-card in case you need to send an emergency call.
It should display somewhere "Emergency call only" or something like that.

The phone doesn't know you have or want international Roaming. By default it disables data connectivity to prevent you from getting charged.
Go to Settings->More->Mobile network settings and tick "Data roaming".

That won't tell you.
Dial this in stock Dialler, it will show if your device is SiM-locked: *#7465625#
If yes, search Voodoo S3 on the Play Store, it can sim-unlock your device if you're rooted.
i used the code you have mentioned
it says USSD code running
and after a few seconds it gives an error that

Can you try to use the search now option? I just tried it on my phone and it works fine. Also, check to make sure Network mode is set to GSM/WCDMA (AUTO MODE)
Additionally, go to settings manage applications. select menu button >> Filter >> Show all >> Call settings and select clear data.

Do you have access to a tmobile post paid sim, if so give it a try. I am not sure why it will not let u connect to the network, unless tmobile had you blocked somehow.

Had the same problem and this worked for me. Well, not exactly. Did the Setteings>Wireless and Network>Mobile Networks> Network Operators and pushed the "Select automatically" option instead. Post put me on the right track though. Thanks

I had this same issue. It was finally fixed with a new sim card. TMobile stated that there is a new sim card that fixes issues due to their new 3g+(4g) network. The sim would work fine on my older BB but wouldnt work on my Vibrant. They replaced the sim for free at the T-Mobile store and I have been fine since. I hope thats your same issue.
Hi Guys,
My friend has asked me for some help with his x10i.
He's purchased it from a market, and it was locked to T-mobile.
Its since been network unlocked by a local store, in theory to allow use of any network sim card.
However when you boot the phone with a sim card in, it comes up on the notification bar
"Phone Not Allowed MM#6"
It will show the little signal bar full.
Checking phone status it shows
Service state - In service
Mobile Network State Disconnected.
It appears to register onto a network, be that orange o2 ect.
But we are unable to make outbound calls, receive calls.
Yet browsing via gprs is working.
I have checked the IMEI with the T mobile. They advised that the phone is clean and not barred.
I have Tried different Sim cards i know are working.
I have Flashed the Firmware back to Stock, Tried the Latest Firm and a few other different combinations.
I am now Stuck.
Any suggestions?
Thank you

did u try calling the network provider your sim card is with? they usually may have to program the network with imei number of the phone
u can also try going to network settings, search networks and choose the one u r on.
I am from India, using HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE in GSM/UMTS Mode. I tried this fake id method http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1986346, but after I did nothing seems to change, so i did it like maybe three times. In the third time the phone stays in a mode something like the temproot mode where the screen becomes unresponsive and I only have the status bar on top, I can go to settings, but wasn't able to connect to my phone network carrier, only able to connect to WiFi. So, when that happens I tried flashing a stock rom 2.17.605.2 RUU http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1770978 using http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2214653 method, I am able to flash the phone, but the problem with the network connecting is not fixed, so now I am unable to use my phone for call, text, any services except Wifi connection. And when I search for any available network I could see the list, but when I click my carrier it said the SIM card is unable to register to the network. So I remove my SIM and insert in another phone, it seems my SIM card has failed to register, so I thought it may be my SIM so I took another SIM card and insert it in my phone, still I cannot connect to the network. Is there a way to solve this? What can be the cause of this?

No. And I figured that my phone's IMEI on the back of the phone and the IMEI given when *#06# is different. I don't know how it can be different.

What do you mean? Like before I flash? If it is before I flash the ROM. Yes, it works perfectly fine.
I'm overseas and using a different SIM card. Currently running LiquidSmooth but the SIM card reading (or whatever) at the bottom of the status bar still reads "Verizon Wireless" and my signal bar is grey. Any help? Thx

Sounds like the SIM is either bad or not installed correctly... Grab any of the dozen or so SIM Info apps from the Play Store and see if it is recognized. You did go into the *#*#4636#*#*, then select Phone Informaton, scroll down to Set preferred network type, and select LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL) or go into Settings->More->Mobile Networks->Network Mode and select Global or GSM/WCDMA?

Did all that. As far as SIM info is concerned, it shows the IMEI but doesn't show phone number and says data is not active. I can receive voice just fine though. Also network is wrong as it's still showing VZW

Also, when was on infection, had to install the GSM patch on top of the already GSM-enabled rom for the SIM to be properly recognized and get data on it
It's either two of these things, you're not on the global radio or you didn't reboot when you finished the setup.( I have T-Mobile, when I reboot I get data and full signal bars)
Sent from my taco using ESPN

everything works fine on sense roms, but not aosp or aokp
hmmm.. I have no clue sorry... I never had that problem. Try the *#*#4636#*#* - Phone Information and then select gsm only and reboot. APNs shouldn't have anything to do with getting signal.
Problem: I put the sim card of a stock HTC Rhyme to my Cyangenomod Galaxy S II. Sim functioned on the Galaxy S II. When i put the sim back to the HTC the network it used to run on don't show up any more, after a network search. So I can not connect to the network the sim provider uses.
Optional: The HTC phone works with other providers (sim cards) other than the provider it used to run on. It finds the networks and connects. The HTC sim card work, as it worked on my Galaxy S II and other phones other than this.
Workaround: Did various tries to get it back, entered *#*#4636#*#*. Even did a factory reset, which didn't fix anything, so that tells how messed it is.

Hehe, nothing works.
The easiest way - ask your operator to replace SIM card. New SIMs have different voltages... etc, maybe it will work if your HTC is ok with other sim-cards

That didn't work either.
I will ask the operator to push out a network signal to the mobile.
Yet the situation is very weird.
