I notice on AOSP roms the sound isn't as high when playing music. On stock samsung roms its way higher, is there anyway of getting max output on aosp roms? n
Not sure if it will help or not, but worth a try...
Have you tried ant of the volume management apps in the play store yet? Just curious.

Try installing the Fluxxi Kernel; it has options (in xxTweaker) to provide an analog boost to your volume. Oddly enough, I have the exact opposite problem: even on the lowest volume in AOSP I can hear my calls (not ringer, actual calls) through a closed door XD

After searching the forum I was unable to find any fix for this, so here goes.
Has anyone else noticed significantly lower headphone volume on CM/AOSP based roms compared to Samsung roms?
I love the insanity rom, but I use my phone for music in the car every day, and compared to Samsung-based roms, the audio volume is much quieter. I noticed the same thing on Oxygen and CM7. I've tried using various volume boosting apps to compensate, but they don't help.
Is there a way to mod the volume to increase it, or some sort of equivalent fix?
Thanks

I want to make my phone call volume higher -- it's pretty noisy in my neighborhood!
I've tried adjusting the phone's position (suggested in another thread), and Volume+ by Meltus but neither working.
Volume+ did help make the ring louder but not call volume.
I'm on the latest Unofficial ROM, maybe it doesn't play well with Volume+?
Any suggestions -- has anyone gotten Volume+ to work on another ROM or kernel?
I am having the same problem and would like to see a solution to this problem

I've noticed on the Rezound that the ringtone and notification volumes are linked together: change one, you change both.
It was the same on my Droid X too, until they started making the 2nd Init roms, then they could be set separately.
Is that the same on the Rezound then too? Until we get pure AOSP roms on here are devs unable to unlink these two volumes? I haven't found a Rom so far on here that has those two unlinked.
It's not a huge issue, but it is convenient to be able to control them separately.

I agree. I also don't like the GPS volume being linked to the media volume. The voice has gotten better since ICS, but I still don't want to hear it while my music is playing.
Sent with a Rezounding HELL YEA!
If you go into settings I think you can set them independently. It might differ depending on your ROM but if you go into the sound settings you should be able to set them individually.
Hi there
For my taste when playing some music on my SGS3 (via headphones -> in-ear) I think that the volume is way too high even on the lowest volume steps.
I used SiyahKernel since it has this "voodoo implementation" that enabled to lower the volume. Now I'm using another kernel without this "voodoo stuff" and I'm looking for some MODs or Apps that might help me to lower the volume....
Are there any MODs or Apps available for this? I'm playing music via PowerAmp.
--> All currently Mods seem to enable even higher volume on the device... but none to lower the volume :-(
*Push*
Seems like I'm the only one with the problem of having too high low-volume? Or are my ears just that good?
Well I use my S3 to listen to music and the volume levels seem to be fine as they are. Trying tweaking the equalizer if you feel the volume levels are too high

On Siyah kernel read the instructions and lower sound level via EX Tweaks app .
Latest Siyah has lower than stock sound level as default .

So I don't know if many or any other people are having or have had this problem(could be related specifically to my car, but unlikely as you'll see later), but I feel like I've heard others mention it. I've now had this issue on multiple roms, from saurom 7.1 GB to now PA cm10 2.0 with flapps OC kernel.
The problem:
When connected to the car stereo via Bluetooth, I'd lose volume control on the dash and only have its control on the phone.
Why does this suck?
Well having to do this to adjust volume can be very annoying for several reasons, like:
1. Having to grab the phone every time you want to adjust the volume
2. Slower volume increases and decreases
3. Depreciating the phone hardware faster
4. Scaling the volume in much bigger, less precise(sometimes it will be either too loud/soft) increments
5. Potentially much lower overall loudness (depending on where the car's own volume was at when it lost control)
6. Potentially more distortion (raising the phone's volume to max to compensate increases distortion regardless of where car volume is at).
What I soon began to realize is that it happens from certain apps, like Pandora (which is usually my go to), but not for the system standard music app like Apollo (which is why I don't think the problem source is related to my car).
So, the work around I figured out for myself is loading both, pausing Pandora, playing Apollo to get volume control, then holding down the back button to kill Apollo(make sure this is enabled in developer options in phone settings), then Pandora should start playing again all by itself and still have volume control. Haven't tested it yet on other music apps, but I suspect it should work the same.
Hope this helps if anyone else had this problem.

This is my first post so bare with me. I have been wanting to use cm10 but I have the same exact problem. In my 2012 scion xb I have bt audio and use spotify and tune in radio for everything. I was using the same method as you to control volume, but when i used synergy rom for my s3 I had the car controls (dash and steering wheel) back. Although I have to re-link the bt every time I Turn my car off.... didn't have to do that with my tbolt, it stayed lined even after i shut my car on and off. Still love my s3 better though lol
