Game using accelerometer problems - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Dear guys
I just have bought a Transformer prime. I tried to test some games that use tilts and I had some problems. For example when I tried Heavy Gunner 1.0.7, axis of the sensor went wrong when x axis become Y and Y-axis become X but when I replaced it by the newer version 1.0.8, everything turned into normal. The same things happened to me when I tried different versions of Asphalt 6 when 1.0.8 version worked. Some other games always goes wrong with all the versions I tried such as GT racing. Additionally, I tried some accelerometer tester and most of them show that this function in my tablet work normal except the software called "android sensor box". So finally, in my own opinion, I conclude that this may be a software issues when some games are not compatible with the NVIDIA tegra 3 chip of the tablet as I heard from some reviews on other forums. But some people claimed that this is a hardware issues as the link below. This tablet is a 2nd ones and the former owner gives me 3 days to test. So if this is a hardware issue, I need to return it to him and take back my money. Does anybody experienced the same problems as me or does anyone can give me a reasonable explanation please answer me as soon as possible.

[Q] GT 10.1 screen accuracy

I have been trying to develop a note taking app on my galaxy tab 10.1 and I kept having issues with handwriting. The accuracy was horrible. I could hardly make out what I wrote. I tried a couple things, but I'm fairly new to Android development. So, instead I ran to the local Best Buy to try out some other tablets. The Transformer and the Acer looked so much better when I tried writing in a paint app. Has anyone else noticed this? If so, can this be fixed on software or is this a hardware issue? I hope I can fix it. Note taking was a large reason I bought it. I may just return it and get the transformer.
Just a note, I used the same paint app to compare all three.
Which applications are you using ?

I was using the Free version of Kids Doodle. I've tried a couple of applications with touch screen writing and they all seem to have the same problem. I also tried a capacitive pen and that didn't seem to make a difference.
I dont have a stylus , but using the above program I dont see any issue with accuracy.
If you do a loooooong stroke like an endless circle it does trail behind slightly.
Perhaps a video for comparison would help.

I read through the post in your signature about the Acer v Tab comparison. I then read through the link you posted about the GPU acceleration. Could my issue be an issue with GPU acceleration. It seems to happen the most if I try to write at a "regular" pace. I saw someone mention input flooding. Are there just too many input points and it starts skipping points? I don't know why this would be different on the Asus and Acer. I did notice that the ASUS (and the Acer?) seem to have 3.1 slightly modified. It didn't seem to be vanilla Android. Could they have added some GPU acceleration?
If that is the case, maybe the update from Samsung with Touchwiz will help the situation.
My head is just spinning because I really wanted to use the Android tablet for some decent note taking. I'm thinking it is not going to happen, even if I put in the time to develop it. It's a little frustrating.
Are you saying that you don't see any lag on the gtab or the Acer? I wasn't sure which one you had.

Accelerometer X&Y Reversed on Honeycomb

So, I now have two games where the accelerometer seems to have flipped X&Y on Honeycomb. Both Asphalt 6 and Heavy Gunner seem to be messed up in the same way. I can't speak for Asphalt 6, but Heavy Gunner worked fine on GB.
It plays "fine" if I rotate the device 90 degrees (other than it messes with your mind).
Anybody have any ideas?
Same problem here on Asphalt 6. No issues on any other games/apps I've tried.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

That's why GT racing was messed up, I realized it after failing to get a license in the game when I had the game in landscape and it kept steering erratically. Oh well. Any fixes would be awesome.
I had a look at the reviews on the market and it seems that other devices have the accelerometer problem with this game (and very likely GT racing too since they're both Gameloft games).
I guess contacting Gameloft and ask for a fix is the only thing we can do. (?)
I'm looking at the actual values passed by the sensors in HC on the Flyer and they are correct. It's a gameloft problem not HTC or HC. As we say in the business, a developer FUFA........ You should change the title of the thread to accurately reflect that.

Has anyone got modern combat 3 to run on this tablet?
When I first purchased this tablet 2 months ago it was working, and then now all of a sudden it says that its not compatible.
yes, mc3 works but you must change the build prop but only if you have rooted the Sony.

FANTASTIC. This was the first build prop that i tried. Some games still dont show up like real racing(which is one of my favs and FREE). Maybe i will look into trying a few more build props, its a case of trial and error in some cases.But I am pleased i was able to help as the Sony is mainly used a a gaming devise and e-book reader.

I was thinking the galaxy tab would be the one to go for.. it's popularity is sure to in turn create the most compatibility with app. I haven't bothered yet due to assumin it might not work so well being 10.1 vs 9.5 inch tabs... any ideas?
I was thinking about using the Galaxy tab but went with the Acer. I may try it but the problem is that once the build prop is changed the installed games need to re download data again. Since ive got pretty much all the games I can(due to storage) installed I will wait until the external sd issue has been fixed.
I'll try the Asus Transformr Prime, Galaxy Tab 7.1 & 10.1.
The Acer build prop works for most of the games. I think the Prime would not be a good comparison as this uses a tegra 3 quad. Best to keep the build props roughly the same as the native one.

Can anyone tell me wat else this effects cause i've changed my build prop on my lg G-slate cause alot is not supported for it but will this mess anything up and once i get these games running can i change my build prop back with the games and apps still working?
In my experience once you change the build back to original then the games require the game data again or even worse they come up with incompatibility problems.Try find a build prop that has the same specs as the original device. I have never had any major problems changing the 4 lines above but thats not to say you wont. Good luck
Anyone else had any luck with build.props other than the a500? I would actually like modern combat 2 which doesn't seem to be showing with the a500 edit
You could always google for samsung 10.1 build prop. I was going to try this one but since the a500 worked for me i just left it
I downloaded the apk directly (not from Playstore) and it works fine ;-) I also bought to be fair to the developers. Great game!

Just check it out - its very easy with v2.3 "Fake as other device" function.
One-click solution - to get Acer A500, or other one from four available devices.
Can be also reverted back as Sony with one click

I had to go through a lot of incompatibility problems to get it to work. i downloaded two different apks, from online. used one to download the data, juggled the data around and made it work for the second apk, if that makes any sense
This game is worth to buy.Dont understand why its not officially comatible with our tablet. Maybe because of implementation of ps3 pad drivers if yes. Btw its easy way to have it playable - my way. Its compatible with my xperia arc s so I bought game and move it on tablet. I dont see any bugs or texture loss. I also dont play on phone cause it starts heating very fast imo its not a theft. In this case it works I dont know what if you downloaded game on other device. There is also solution if game wont start after logo. Region change 2 UK on tablet setting , play and save game and revert region to this which was before. I tried play with ps3 pad -not working well. Btw2 multiplayer in this game rocks :laugh:
If we used appguard to disable mc3 to read phone state, wouldn't that work?

Dark Meadow on non-Tegra3 Devices

Dark Meadow is finally out, and it looks amazing.... but I don't own a Tegra-3 device (yet). It is built "built specifically for the Tegra 3 4-PLUS-1 chipset" but anyone have insight as to what that really means? We have gotten Tegra-2 games to work on non-tegra devices with the help of Chainfire and other tweeks... so any ideas as to if it is even possible to play on a Tegra-2 device? Would I just be wasting my time trying to figure out how to get it running?
I think there is a non tegra version out, both tegra version and nontegra version wont work on my tf101.

I would also like to know if this can work on non tegra with chainfire 3d D;. I can't find the non tegra version. link please?

tried modded apk with titanium backup file and modded sd files on evo 3d, does not work, it just gets to the title screen and the graphics get all garbled with and without chainfire. if anyone knows how, please post. also does chainfire work well on tegra 3 devices? does it have msaa support? thanks. you can find more info on the modded version a mobilephonetalk.com. it shouldn`t breach the forum rules as it is a free game.

I spent a lot of time reading all over the place for a method on how to get it working, but the usual end to it was "It doesn't work!" ...

I managed to get it working last night on my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 using the fixed .apk that's floating around the internet. There seems to be a lot different thoughts about how to make it work. I can say with confidence that to make it run on my tablet I needed to use Chainfire 3D with the nvidia plugin for Tegra support. Seemed that most people who did get it working without Tegra 3 devices had at least Tegra 2. I further verified the need for Chainfire 3D in that when loading Dark Meadow without Chainfire 3D the game quickly exits out after the Unreal Engine screen. When using Chainfire 3D the game continues to load and you will get the Phosphor screen. THIS is where Tegra but non Tegra 3 devices run into a problem. They get a black screen and then it closes out shortly after.
What seems to have gone unnoticed is that when the Phosphor screen loads, the main menu is loaded behind it and is very much touchable. Having gotten into the game a couple of times already by some random chance I started tapping where the START NEW GAME option is. I could hear the sound effect, but usually nothing happened after that. So I tried hitting HOME then using the task manager to return to it. I was greeted with a white screen... The start of a new game! I tried this several times to be sure, and it worked more often than not. You can from there back out to the main menu and load a saved game.
Unsure if this will work for other devices, but that's how I got it working.
Update: Tried doing the exact same thing on my Galaxy SIII phone, but it doesn't work. I did manage to get into the main menu twice out of like 40 attempts, but never got beyond that. The tapping on the lower right doesn't work in this case. When I did start a new game though I got the white screen and then choked.
I think it's worth noting the hardware in the US GS3 and Note 10.1 are different, but I believe the international GS3 has the same CPU/GPU as the Note 10.1, so it may work with that.

Problem with game in Yuandao N90S - Screen bug

Hello everyone. I'm having a problem with a game (Final Fantasy VI) in my tablet, which doesn't display the game correctly during the combat part. I'm thinking that maybe is related with the rom I'm using (RilleyRom 1.5) but I'm not sure. So if anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it.
Attached are some screenshots I took. The first one is normal display during gameplay out of combat. The other two are the bug in his full glory.

The graphics in the device maybe not that much efficient to run.
Or maybe the game is missing some frames :silly:
Download the game and try again.
If your tablet is rooted, then install ChainFire3D and install drivers in it. Also reduce texture quality to run game.
If your device is not rooted, then try someother game.

Didn't work. Reinstalling the game does the same and ChainFire3D messed up my rom and I had to install it again. Thanks anyway.

Thanks for posting this because all i can ever find on this game is that major glitch from v1.0. I must have spent about 4 hours yesterday uninstalling, reinstalling, redownloading the game. I get the same results. The game seems to work fine on my Galaxy S3. I have some cheapo android tablet (Sweet brand...got it for free) running some boring version of 4.1.1. Totally stock. I've tried everything, including playing to where Terra goes into the caves on her own (figuring it was some glitch with the mechs). Anytime and every time a member of the hero's party does any action (even switching rows), the screen blacks out like your screen shot. Does not happen with enemies. I thought it was my cheap tablet not being good enough, but the game should just slow down, not black out. Other effects from cutscenes (as far as I was willing to play) seemed to work fine.
I am just tempted to play this just on my phone, but it is so much more enjoyable on the slightly larger screen. I haven't really played this game since i had it on SNES. I bought the WII version the day it came out, and then never touched it, realizing that I didn't want to dedicate 50+ hours in front of my tv to this game. Playing on the go is so much more enjoyable because I can play 20 minutes in bed. play 15 minutes on the john. Play 15 minutes during lunch, etc. The updated sprites look like cheap stickers but everything else in this game looks great and I like how they set it up for the touch screen.
Let's hope this gets figured out.

I have a Moto G and the game is perfect on it so it must be something related with our tablets. My only hope is that an update fixes it, because, like you, I would rather play the game in my tablet with a bigger screen.
