This morning I had an issue where the LTE speeds (AT&T) were very poor with 3 bars. Generally I get 10meg down but when running speed test I encountered a network error. Restarted the phone and everything is working great.
Anyone else experience an issue where rebooting the phone helped with the wireless speeds?
Have Verizon. 4G speeds get bad, power down for a minute, back on. Fixed.

Strange, wonder if there is something going on with the phone itself since both of us are on separate carriers.
I did this LTE reset this morning in an area I visit. And sure enough I got full strength 4g on Sprint where I had no 4g at all but great Network Vision 3g. The tower just went online right next to where I frequent.

I have the Verizon SIII and noticed the same thing. A reboot seems to fix it. Not sure what causes it though.

Hi everyone,
I have noticed that my when my wifi is on, phone drains much less battery. Does that just simply implies that my phone service provider sucks with bad signal quality? Or anyone have any insights on this problem?
Thanks

Not at all, and attributing wifi being on as "improving" your battery life may be a faulty assumption... your drain looks fairly good? its just the awake time that is draining it, would likely have little to no difference on if your on WiFi or not. Looks really good to me LOL I wouldn't be able to get 20 hours on a single charge the way I use mine!
Well, I beg to differ. I am on 2.3.5 and for me also the drain is significantly less if I leave the phone on wifi. I think its because when you are on the network, there is a periodic ping to the tower and also as the signal quality keeps changing depending on the load on the tower you are hooked to, it keeps downgrading/upgrading between H+ and EDGE. I may be completely wrong but I think you always save on wifi so long as we have pethatic network operators.
Thanks,
Vishal

I picked up LTE in the Kingstowne Center at the Giant over there. Only place I have picked one up yet. I read somewhere, perhaps on here, that someone was getting LTE in Alexandria as well. So I guess it just matters where in Northern Virginia you are. I know I don't get one around me at all.
Does anybody else get this from time to time? I get it every now and then when I'm both on 3G or WiFi.

I bought my LTE but I couldn't use it till morning. The city I live in is Madison Heights,MI...I stayed the night at a friends...she lives in Ferndale. My 3g speeds normally are crap
In that city...but when I tethered to the EVO from my S2 it was getting 2mb/s on 3g..and as soon as I activated the EVO its back down to shifty speeds...in Madison heights...I use to get 1mb/s if not better on my 3vo and original EVO. Is there something I'm missing? Latest radios? I'm on meanbean s-off with dirty raccoon any suggestions?
I have done ##3282# restore changed cdma/LTE back and forth updated prl and profile still nothing..
Re: 3g issue?
Updated to latest radios and pri still being slow...I think I'm being throttled..how can you tell??

My signal at home is sometimes cellular and other time wifi for calling. Is there a way to better force wifi other then going to airplane
Probably not since, as far as I know, wifi calling depends on having no cellular signal.

Wifi calling doesn't rely on having no service.
This screen shot of the first FAQ says "if cellular service is not available". If you have any connection to the VZW network, wifi calling does not take precedence.

Trust me wifi works but when cellular levels are deemed low enough to the phone.
Say what you will but I'd rather provide the information directly from Verizon so as not to set expectations. If you say WiFi calling will kick in when there's no cellular network and it does then great. It worked like it was intended to. If you say it'll kick in when you have a lower signal and it doesn't then you set an expectation that it will and you'll have people upset at you. If it DOES kick in when you have marginal signal then it's a bonus. Under-promise and over-deliver.
