I tried doing this in CWM but no luck. I expanded the rar file and found a tar but odin isn't working for me. Any advice or am I doing something wrong?
What exactly is going wrong when you try to flash with Odin?

Did you do it like this: Another user asked the same question, and I guess it worked for him lol. Also this is for the US Galaxy Player 5.0 so don't flash it on a player that isn't this one. You can find all the stock roms here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1531850 with step by step instructions too.
1) Download stock rom found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1520728 (Use 7 zip or winrar to extract the file)
2) Download and install Kies found here: http://www.samsung.com/us/kies/ (if you haven't, it's for the driver)
3) Download and install Odin just click the link http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...IxHp1ISlP2fzGKhtw&sig2=ZjUHLCkIbG1_EprOk9enrA
4) Enable USB Debugging from the GP 5.0 (Settings-> Applications-> Development Check box for USB Debugging)
5) Turn off the player regularly then put it into download mode (Hold Volume down and power), Icon that says downloading at the bottom should pop up (looks like this http://techbyte.co.in/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Android_download.jpg)
6) Open Odin (make sure only Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are checked or you will brick your device)
7) Plug in Galaxy Player to USB port. Under ID:COM it should say something like 0:[COM4] and is yellow. In the message area it should say "Added!!"
8) Hit PDA and select the .md5 file named "ueki8_min.tar" (only use the .pit file if you want to re partition your player otherwise it is not needed)
9) Hit Start and wait until it finishes. Should take anywhere from 2-4 minutes.
10) Profit
Optional Steps*
If you get bootloops then
11) Turn off player, and put it into recovery (Hold simultaneously power + volume up + settings button [button left of the home button])
looks like this http://h8.abload.de/img/20100829_004w6fq.jpg
12) Do Wipe data/factory reset, and Wipe cache Partition
13) Profit
Let me know if this works for you, and if possible can you give me thanks

hey guys, sorry for the noob question. how can i update to 2.2 while staying with the stock look and not having to use any other rom?
Here are many links you can use to download it (use your favorite)
http://www.multiupload.com/2SWILHEP3Z
this is JL5 (version 5 of 2.2 [not official])
You need to download ODIN, you can download it from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8863820&postcount=138
You need to have Samsung drives on your computer:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=728929
Once you install the drives, you can start ODIN and choose PDA and browse for the .zip file you downloaded.
Make sure repartition is NOT selected.
Put your phone in download mode (press both volume up and down) and then stick the usb cord without letting go of the volume buttons. A yellow android should appear and ODIN will show your device in yellow.
If this happens you are good to go, just click start and let it finish.
If you are on stock ROM then your data won't be erased.
I hope I made this clear and don't forget the Thanks button :]
Yes, got it! thanks!!
PROPS!
Thanks for the easy to follow write up!

Thanks For That it is now fixed.
Had to use this tonight after something went wrong using Clockwork recovery to make a backup on my US 4.0.
Worked perfectly. Thanks so much for this.
Thanks glad to help.
Is this completely stock, or is there a few mods. made to the kernel?
Sent from my YP-G70 using XDA App
I think it is stock it only contains factoryfs and kernel so the boot and all the other files are done by your device once you click factory reset.

This is the same ROM as this... There are still a few Mods that were made. Please post on how to remove the mods from this link, so other people know about them. As for the 4.0 I have no idea if it is the same story.
Thanks for this, saved my butt after doing a nandroid backup with CWM that resulted in bootloops.

My Galaxy Tab 10.1 with Android 3.2 is stuck on the Samsung Galaxy Tab screen. I figured if I try to change/update the firmware I might be able to get past it. I tried so many different things to fix this using Odin. I found an article with these steps:
Firmware Update Steps:
Run Samsung P7510 Downloader.
Check these options: Re-Partition, Auto Reboot, F.Reset Time.
Click PIT button and select: android_fastboot_emmc_full_p4_16G_32G.pit
Put the Tablet into dwonload mode: ( Press Volume Down + Power for 10 sec ) then press Volume Up to enter Dwonload mode.
Connect USB cable to phone and PC.
Make sure that the program has detect the phone.
Click Start button to flash PIT file and wait to see PASS! word on the program.
Now click on Reset button and uncheck this option: Re-Partition.
Click BOOTLOADER button and select: BOOTLOADER_P7510xxxxx_CL317542.tar.md5
Click PDA button and select: CODE_P7510xxxxx_CL317542_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5
Click CSC button and select: CSC_P7510Oxxxxx.tar.md5
Remove battery off and reinsert it then put the phone into download mode again.
Connect USB cable to phone and PC.
Make sure that the program has detect the phone.
Click Start button to and wait to see PASS! word on the program.
After phone rebooted do full reset by this code: *2767*3855#
My dilema, where do I get the necessary files. I searched and all I keep getting are more links with the same instructions and file names. If I can fix the issue without doing the update, that would be awesome. I messed up when I tried to put a ROM with ICS on it, this one (AOKP_ICSROM/aokp_p4wifi_milestone).....Please help.
When you get stuck at that screen all you need to do is boot into recovery, wipe data/cache/dalvik then reflash the rom. Just happened to me with an ICS rom too.

If you still have a good image on your tablet you can indeed boot into recovery and reinstall that one:
- hold left volume button down while booting
- Now you should enter a menu, left for flashmenu, right for odin download mode
- press left volume button to select flash menu
- press right volume button to select
- wipe data/factory reset
- install zip from sdcard
If you do not have a correct firmware file on your device download it here:

I download this stock rom from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1651794&page=2
Plz guide me how i flash this rom on my Galaxy Tab 10.1 Wifi P7510
There is only one file in the zip file with this name (P7510XEUKL2_P7510XXKL2_HOME.tar.md5) I select the PDA and push the start button, but very little progress bar shown on my tab then stopped, and not increase the progress for 1 hour. and the last message in the odin message box is "image.cache" then i reboot the tab and error comes "error occurred during boot" then i again start the tab by pressing the volume down + power button then it comes on the selection page for downloading mode and recovery mode. then i go to recovery and recover my backup.
now tell me which option I select, I mean, PDA, Bootloader, Phone or CSC.

Installation Guide
1) Make sure you have the drivers installed
2) Extract ur firmware it to get its content which would be a .tar
3) Download Odin3 v1.85. Then, extract it to get these two required files – Odin3 v1.85.exe and Odin3.ini. Do NOT delete the .ini file since it’s required too. When asked in step 6 below, open Odin by double clicking on the Odin3 v1.85.exe file.
4) Disconnect your tablet if it’s connected to PC. Power it off. Wait 5-6 seconds for vibration to confirm complete switch off.
5) Now, put the Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet in Download Mode (also called Odin mode) — press and hold, until Samsung Galaxy logo appears — these keys together: Volume_DOWN + Power.
6) Wait till you a screen with options to boot into recovery or download (odin) mode.
7) Press Volume Up key to boot into download mode.
8) Open Odin (from step 3) — Odin3 v1.85.exe. Admin privileges would be required!
9) Connect your Galaxy tab 10.1 tablet to PC now. You should get the message “Added! !” under the Odin’s message box in the bottom left. And you should also see COM port with a number in Yellow. If you don’t get this message, then probably there is a problem with drivers. Make sure you’ve the right drivers installed!
10) Select these files in Odin at respective tabs.
11) Click the PDA Tab, and select the big .tar file “P7510XEUKL2_P7510XXKL2_HOME.tar.md5″
Important! Make sure these 2 check-boxes are selected: Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time. Also, leave the Re-Partition check-box clear (blank), as we are only using a .tar file or PDA file to flash.
12) Double check everything said in step 11.
13) Now, hit the START button to begin the flashing process. When it finishes, your tablet will automatically reboot — and you can unplug the cable when Galaxy logo appears. Plus, you’ll get a PASS (with green background) message in the left-most box at the very top of the Odin. If it’s red and with FAIL written over it, the process flashing process wasn’t successful, Try again, and take care to complete the whole process without any break whatsoever.

Thank you so very much. My device seems to be working very well now. Normally, I am very savvy at learning new things. This time, however, I did not spend enough time playing with my very first Android before I went about bricking it. I bought accidental replacement coverage for my Galaxy 5.0 and did not want to dip it into pea soup to get a new one. I felt it would be dishonest to do such a thing. I registered to this site just to thank you. Great work and best wishes.
