Any demand for these roms? - Motorola Droid RAZR

Hey guys I have considered making a cm9 based iOS style rom. However, I want to know if there is any demand. I have also considered making a gaming oriented rom. I might also make a more stock-like rom. Does anyone think these are good ideas? I don't want to make them for nothing. I could also base them off aokp. Thoughts?

I would definitely be interested in a stock-like rom!

I think most of us here wants a stock based rom, myself included. :good:
As long as you don't limit it to just CDMA :/

We got already an great Stock based ROM. Epsilon is all you can eat of Stock
An Rom like an I phone... not really :what:
Try something complete different. Like Andlaw did it with his widow. It's an great Rom and has an unique look. I loved it, while we was able to use the GSM Patch

OK stock-like with a twist it is. Maybe gaming-oriented?

Thanx man!
But is it the same??
Dude, "These roms are all based on GB(Stock Ginger Blur) 2.3.6 kernel."
And the one I posted was 4.0.4...(I think)

Dude, these custom roms are relased for a few months now. And they don't support hw-acceleration (no camcorder, no chrome, no opera...). If you want to run a real goot ICS Custom Rom, check out Black Widow ICS, really great rom (but still no camcorder), except you flash the black widow for the verizon ICS leak. But read carefully before you flash anything!!!!
Man you should update to cm9 from axiom... It's kinda dated now. I have been on cm9 for about a week now and everything works. Camcorder... Data on boot.. Hw accel.. Everything. Has a weird screen rotation glitch and screen shots are odd. Other than that it's perfect. I run it with performance governor and it's as smooth as butter. Theme engine works too.

Hi lucs...thanx ...the thing is I am a fan of things that are pure...the AXIOM ROM is just plain awesome...yes somethings aren't working..but till I find a ROM identical to this, I don't think I am gonna move..love the "pure Android experience
Sent from my RaZr NeXus.
AXIOM is based off of AOKP which is based off of CM9 which is based off of pure AOSP Android (seen on the Nexus devices).
So if you want pure android go find an AOSP ROM. If you want pure with a few tweaks go for CM9. Pure with lots of tweaks, AOKP.
Yep.. Cm9 is pretty damn pure. I think the axiom Rom still has some blur elements in it actually.
Nah it doesn't.
Ah I have never ran it. Just assumed it did since the release thread at Droid hive says minimal blur. Regardless.. Hope you get a fully functional rom.

You have to make a free account but it's worth it. You have to be on a leak first. And safe strap 2.0 is required for cm9 and AOKP.
I'm on cm9. Have performance governor set and now this thing is smoother than my galaxy nexus.

you patched a LEAK-based cdma rom with the GB-GSM patch and it works??? No, I guess you are running an GB-kernel basrd ICS rom which has to be installed over the 2.3.6 system, right? I am working on a GSM patch to make the LEAK-BASED roms work on GSM devices..

Razr MAXX stock or rom

Hi everyone ,
I'm running ICS on my RAZR Maxx and wanted to consult with all of the knowledgeable people here on xda about whether or not I should flash CM10 Jelly Bean on it or if I should just stick to the stock ICS.
I am running Jelly Bean on my nexus 7 and its so smooth and quick that I really want the same experience on the Razr but I am worried it won't be as smooth if I dont wait for an official update.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks

Cm10 is still a bit buggy but ics based roms are amazing.

Well I went ahead and used safestrap which is amazing. Its not like it used to be where I have to wipe the device first but they have different slots allocated to different roms so I can go back to stock if I want easily plus have 3 more roms to choose from
I went with cm10 which is a bit buggy but still works pretty good so now I'm on cm10 jelly bean on razr maxx woooo hoooo

Many flashing directions say to wipe device. Does safe strap leave a clean place to install the ROM without wiping? If I go back to stock, will all my data and apps be intact?
Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
if u have gsm then stay with stock until cm10 is stable enough for daily usage
The new safestrap allows you to allocate 3 slots to different roms so if you want tp.flash cm10 and 2 other roms you dont have to wipe your device. Its really cool

Yes wipe device after creating and selecting the new ROM slot. You just don't need to wipe when switching between slots 1 and 2 after each one is set up.

I don`t like do wait for operator official ROM so I`m using AOKP ROM. I recommend that.
I didn't wipe the device at all.
You can create the new ROM slot and select it without the need to wipe anything

If you're on GSM, I'd say stick to your Stock Based ROM and work on modifications yourself wih init.d, build.prop, app debloating, etc.
If you're on CDMA, you can try to go with Jelly Bean based ROMs though they're still kinda buggy.
I quit JB ROMs on my GSM due to Mobile Data Problems and System Deep Sleep
Yes, I've studied xda for three weeks on the Droid Razr, and I still don't know how to flash a ROM on this thing. Information is scattered, disorganized, and much of it is old.
Let me tell you, figuring this out is a Holy Terror, unlike my old Nexus One. And as a bonus, almost no one will answer any of your questions!
Good luck man, you'll need it. Most ppl give up.

Well its pretty simple actually once you spend time and do the research
First you download safestrap from here:
http://blog.hash-of-codes.com/downloads/
Then you follow the safestrap installation instructions here:
http://blog.hash-of-codes.com/how-to-safestrap/
then you download CM10 Jelly bean here:
http://goo.im/devs/Hashcode/spyder/cm10
Get the latest version and save it to your device (Its a zip file)
I just saved it to a dropbox directory and then exported it to the phone but you can do it however you want.
Then you can watch this youtube video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0i-KZ3dJL0&feature=related
Im sure there are others but he uses safestrap v3 so its easy.
And voila you have a buggy CM10 but its jelly bean

Its hard to say if we will get CM10 Alpha 3 now since dragonzkillers phone is, apparently, not looking so good. Havent seen any posts from him since he mentioned all that. But any Jelly Bean based ROM would be welcomed. Alpha 2 is still pretty stable.

Awesome. You probably already know but just as a preventive measure, when you do the write up, you should make sure you say to SBF if coming from CM10 or nandroid back to an ICS ROM before flashing. It will save you from a bunch of people saying it doesnt work. Just lookin' out.

paranoid would be awful on this device o.o (no offense to the awesome rom) resolution would be difficult to optimise.
i dont have the bandwidth to repo anymore so any rom compiled, i would have todo manually or port.
cm9 stability would be a first priority. cm10 or aosp would be nice. with aosp, a stock like home brew update could be accomplished.

Welcome.
I just bought this phone for current girlfriend. Shes not really tech savvy. Its her first smartphone. She really loves it. As I thought she would.
I chose it because of the design mainly. The cute bottom caps you can change to different colours. I put the pink one on for her. Also the transparent light is really cool. And the phone is a nice compact size at 3.5 inch. Good phone for a lady.
And good specs also. Dual CPU. 512 ram. Very nice display. Very nice present. gonna get a lot more loving for this one.

Stock based Rom quality

I really am happy with the roms for our device up to date. Its not just the powerful hardware that gets me. I have plenty of other devices. Aosp, sense, touchwiz, blur. Out of all of the available roms. I'm really digging these LG roms. The launcher. Q-slide. Its all very functional for me. Oh and the calculator especially.
I think even though I'm dying to try Aosp on this phone like every one else. I think at the end of the day ill still be rockin an LG based rom. I was wondering if anyone else is thinking like me?
