Quite alarm? - Galaxy S III Q&A, (US Carriers)

I have the alarm volume up all the way and it still to quiet. Anyone have an idea to solve this with out using another app? I'm using stock Verizon rom and unrooted

Hmm, quite an alarm.
I'd recommend using the app Alarmdroid. At max volume, it's enough to wake everyone in the house up. It really depends on how deep of a sleeper you are. I'm a really deep sleeper but I can still wake up after like 3-4 minutes of the alarm going off on 50% volume.

From my personal experience with almost every android phone, the stock alarm app is terrible. It's one of those things that you need to replace (e.g. browser) when you get a new phone - But not many people know that the 3rd party alarms are 10x better than stock.
Your problem could probably be because of your speaker or some other factor. Are you sure that you went into settings and made the alarm volume the highest? The low volume would probably be a huge complaint by many users if it happened to everyone. Then again, on my old phone (Evo 3D) the stock alarm wouldn't even go off half the time even at full alarm volume but it wasn't widely known issue.

I downloaded a ringtone from zedge for my alarm, maybe it will be loud . If not I'm going to try another app

Mine is ridiculously low also. The ringer also starts out slow then blows up super loud after a second. I don't get it.

Media Volume?

For whatever reason, at random times, the media volume of my phone will just flat out mute. Once mute, I am unable to get it up, even through the sound settings, it'll just go back to mute. My only fix so far is to restart the phone, but it gets really annoying.
Has this happened to anyone else and does anybody know why causes it? I did the whole increase volume thing with QPST and made the volume Lv4. I seemed as if everything worked correctly, but I noticed absolutely no change in volume =_=;
First suggestion, get another phone. I had the same problem...

Seriously? You can't automatically discard a phone for a little bug...
It's more than likely from the spiderman game... You might have to uninstall the update in the game until they fix this bug..

I had it happen.. it happened a lot with my g2x... And anytime I ran cm7 I had to reboot... I'm guessing just a faulty media driver or something else as it doesn't happen often.
Try a to download a different media player (music only obviously) from the market
Or just reboot your phone and increase the media volume in the "settings"
Im sure if its a major bug the developer's will find a fix

My slider is perfect, it snaps and takes the right amount of effort to slide. I've had two of these phones because of a part number mixup, had the first one for an entire weekend and both are perfect, good slider, no dust, light leak or dead pixels.

Fix: Go into Sound settings and change the Sound profile to Normal (preferably before launching the game, but works after-the-fact too, if you forget). Mine defaulted to Vibrate, and it seems that this game is programmed to disable sound (only after the splash screen and intro video, go figure) if it detects this or the Silent profile. Now I can hear the game, for a change.

Audio is pushed through speakers while headphones are plugged in.

I can't seem to get the audio to come 100% through the speakers. Music works fine.

there's 3 various volume settings - the first one is for the ringer - when you plug in your headphones, the media volume activates once you select a video (ie youtube) - the 3rd is for notifications - when you click the volume rocker click the gears to the right and you will see all 3 to adjust independently of each other.

Well my Nokia N8 and all the other phones i've had will wake you up even when switched off, meaning that the alarm clock will turn the phone on. So slaphead maybe you should change your name to smartass. So only 3 things i don't like about sgs2 and sgs3 thats not too bad

Too bad that such a great phone fail at such simple task as keeping the alarm on when it's off. Really missed that feature.
That's what i am thinking, another thing is that applications that need internet access can switch on wifi or data and off when exiting applications. I miss that as well.

Weird vibrate notification

Had any one of you note2 users encountered problems with vibrate?
The vibrate works fine for phone calls with or without sound but once I get notifications with or without sound half of them randomly will be normal vibrations while the rest will vibrate as if the phone isn't getting enough power. It's not a constant vibrate.
It's very annoying. Has anyone one of you experienced this before? Do you think I should unroot and lock it and send to VZW?

The note II is equipped with custom vibrations. Go to system settings>sounds>device vibration and change it from there.

No that's only for the ringtone. My notifications sound like the phone is dying and can't vibrate.
I think I might have to consider contacting VZW.

Oh gotcha. on that problem, it might be hardware. Have you dropped your phone. May have unseated the vibration device. lil half disk that spins. Not sure where it's found under the casing. Haven't taken a Note II apart yet. Maybe when I kill this one to get the Note III i'll pull it apart.

I have the same problem, on full stock I dont remember this being an issue but I didn't stay on stock for longer than 6 hours.
Mine doesn't necessarily sound like its dying as much as the vibration is either extremely weak or extremely strong. It varies from app to app; for instance my keyboard is in between, my email app (Aquamail) barely has any vibration after being set to vibrate and ring when receiving a message, and the eBay app has an extremely strong vibration that's easily stronger than any of the other apps vibrations. Even stock SMS and phone apps vibrations arent as strong as the eBay app.
I've begun to wonder if it has something to do with the rom instead of the phone, like I said earlier I didnt notice this until I flashed Cleanrom ACE.

Many notifications have different vibrate values - if that makes sense.
For example, I can tell when I'm at work and get a notification what it is based on the vibrate. I know when I have a snapchat waiting
I like it and consider it a feature.

See I knew they had different values but the values for the same app are constantly changing for me no matter what I set it to in the apps that allow custom vibrations. The only one that seems to be consistent is the call vibration but I don't get enough calls to be able to know for sure.

Yes, the thing is it either doesn't work or the vibration strength isn't consistent. It is all over the board with the same notification. I can get 3 texts in a row and each vibration will be completely different.
