[Q] Can't connect to S3 via AIRDROID ! ! ! - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone,
I used AIRDROID with my i9000 without any problem and love it. But I can't connect to my S3 right now.I dont want plug cable or something. So after typing IP adress, browser is not responding and waiting . . . Is there any quick fix for it ? Im using AirDroid 1.0.7 beta. Maybe If you can share previous versions, they can work correctly or Im open for any solution for beta version.
Thanks !

Restart your modem/router, this should help.

Well, first of all, make sure you are connected to the same network. If you are, restart the router.
If it is still not working, tether your computer (Using your phone as a Wi-Fi hotspot). Then type the shown IP.
If it STILL doesn't work, get rid of the Beta, reflash your phone, or try a different Android handset, with the same version of Airdroid, you are using.
I'm also using Airdroid, but I have never had any problems...

scan the barcode with camera. Try!!!

I tried previous version, changed port number, reset modem, another program called "wifi file explorer" and phone connects randomly maybe twice of 20 tries
So Is there any setting can effect connection on phone or modem settings? It really drives me KRAZY

You do know WEP-encryption can be cracked in as little as 2 minutes, allowing anyone with a laptop (no special hardware needed) to access your network within mere minutes?
Can you confirm AirDroid is up and running on the phone?

I had same issue. I solved it by reserving ip address to device in dhcp table in router. :cyclops:

Try to set the channel of your Wifi to channel 6

CM9 0.6 Alpha Bugs/Questions

Now, I know that this rom is still in an early Alpha stage, but as a test I left it on, unplugged with wifi on, not connecte (having that irritating bug where it won't connect to anything), to see how long the battery lasts, and I noticed 2 things.

A. Should the battery be draining this quick, when it was not used for the 24 hours which it lasted on battery? I mean, no apps were running, and it wasn't even connected to wifi, I usually leave wifi on on my phone by an accident and I don't notice it draining the battery that quick...(my only explenation although I dunno if it's right, is that while it's not connected and there are networks that it knows and can connect to in range, that it is constantly TRYING to connect, and thus draining the battery?
B. It says that it was constantly awake, but if you look below, the screen was turned on like, 2 or three times throughout the day?
Any ideas about these? Anyone know a fix for wifi? I tried wifi fixer from the market, but it didn't work (looks like all it does is reset the wifi) (and please don't suggest the changing channel thing on the router, cause I can't do that in college). Also, calendar won't sync with my email, says sync is down, try again later, and in accounts and settings, it doesn't say sync Calendar, it says sync com.android.calendar...? I tried wiping dalvik cache and reinstalled GAPPS V11...but nothing, still won't sync
Thanks guys.

Try Fixing Permissions in CWM. If that doesn't work then wipe everything and reinstall.
what would the permissions fix be for...the calendar?
It should fix the wifi. Did you have android on your TP before ICS? If you did you might of installed it over one another which may lead to problems. Best bet is to backup, wipe everything, and reinstall. I currently have ICS on my TP and its golden! Never had wifi problems and use my Calender daily.
Re: Your battery life. If you check your process list with top from a console or with all options on in system tuner, do you see anything pegging the CPU? I had an odd issue where netd was consuming loads of resources (50-90% constantly on one core) and it was killing the battery like that and making the device slower. I replaced that daemon with the same file from CM7 and stopped having issues.
Check the last few pages of the CM9 thread in the dev section for more details.

Edit, here's my battery life for a similar period with wifi on.
Weird tapatalk bug. Ignore.
Scroll down the page to the link for gapps fixer, it should fix your calendar problem.

I'll try this tonight, also, @mkosem, your screen isn't always "awake", mine is despite the fact it wasn't used for the full day!

I'm pretty sure awake and screen on are different things. I was having some nasty idle issues before I replaced netd though. I don't recall if it was staying awake like that, but one core was pegged constantly at >=50%.

I've seen this suggestion multiple times with no real explanation as to why this fixes the wifi.
I did this multiple times across multiple clean installs. It did not fix the Wifi for me.
Does anyone know why this is being suggested as a way to fix wifi??

Tried that and did nothing. Changing the router channel to 4 fixed it though. Battery life still isn't great though. Gonna try that netd thing later

(Hack) Wifi Tether on ICS Leak

I am running the Leaked ICS (odin one click version) and have CWM b4 installed and it is Rooted. The only thing I am missing that I want is tethering =)
Anyone figure this out yet?
I have:
- searched the settings db and have found no entries that are working.
- browsed titanium backup freezing potential apks
- attempted to install various apps..
Nothing is working. Anyone else have any better luck?

Get the FoxFi app from the marketplace. That's the easiest way to get it.

FoxFi works great. No problems.
-Once you go NOTE, you'd say 4 inches a Joke
Yes, FoxFi works with no other steps. One thing wifi must be off, it might send up red-flags if it were on.
Most of those apps I tried in the past turn off Wifi anyway.
I take it you are trying to get around AT&T knowing it? Just keep in mind they have been known to find out anyway, and change your account for you.
Otherwise, if you have a tethering data plan, the built in one works fine.
hello, On GB Wireless tether for root users worked for me. I was able to use my phones signal to connect my pc..waaaaaaaaaaay faster than my home wifi network. I just installed this but it seems it wants to connect to my home wifi sucky network and not use my phone signal to connect to my PC. am i missing something? do i need to freeze something on ICS for this to work? ON GB you had to freeze "tethering manager" and then it woked with a click.
sorry but some more explanation would be much appreciated....thank you
Yesterday on ICS they kept turning off my tether and saying I don't have it. Today using ICS (odin one click) version but rooted I get no messages and FoxFi now works perfect. Not just a few minutes but have been connected for hours. I had to freeze tether manager on GB but not now.
I don't know about the home wifi issue, no problems there.
i rebooted and clicked the button and then refreshed my avail networks at home...it popped up and i connected....signal strength on phone 4 bars. tried to go to gmail and it just spun....then even though at bottm of pc said connected and excellent strength...it wont' go anywhere.
EDIT: ON ICS the collectives version...and of course rooted.
Foxfi not working. Computer said connected but "Limited". I delete TetherProvisioning(TetherManager) too. Not working both Foxfi and the built in one
Used to work in stock GB. Anyone have solution?
Using ICS Collective

Hulu not working after OTA update

I'm stock, not rooted. Updated to 4.0.4 yesterday. Hulu doesn't work for me anyore. When I try to load a video I get a message saying that there's network issues with my network (Sprint). I thought maybe it was my connection but I'm well over 1 Mbps right now and Netflix works fine. Anyone else stock with the new OTA update that can test this out on a 3G connection?
Also wanted to note that the app works fine on wifi. Tested that last night. I've done PRL and profile updates just in case. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Nothing seems to work.

Nobody has replied yet so figured I'd offer you the perspective from an app developer. When coding an application to work over an internet connection, there are a few different ways to verify what type of network connection is active before initiating. The app can determine and only work over WiFi, or 3G, and in some cases can determine a WiMAX/LTE type of connection. The app could be programmed to only work over WiFi, or WiFi/3G or WiFi/3G/WiMAX/LTE, all depends on the application.
Since you state it works over WiFi, but not on the Sprint network, I find that very odd.
If the application worked over your sprint network connection before and now it does not .. we'd want to look at what changed between the before/after states.
Maybe if you could screenshot and post up the exact error message and that might provide some technical details to help narrow down the issue.
Hope some of that background is slightly helpful in moving towards a resolution!
Here you go and thank you for the response.

I can't turn on the wifi. When I toggle the wifi button on, it keeps saying (turning on...) but it toggles back to off all by itself. I can't even see the screen where it list available networks.
Earlier in the morning I can still browse the internet using my wifi at home. While I was watching TV, I grab my phone to check emails and IMs only to discover that I can't connect to my wifi anymore. My laptop and tablet can connect to it though.
Things that I tried:
1. Reset the router
2. Disabled wifi power saving on the phone
3. Re-flashed custom rom (still no good)
4. Re-flashed stock rom (no luck either)
5. Tried several modems and kernels
6. Tried playstore wifi fixer apps
Any help would be appreciated. This is very frustrating for me because I can't use mobile data all the time and I don't have a spare phone for now (to be used for internet, especially for work purposes).
Have you tried reflashing a rom with wipe? Or flashing another rom?
If you have similar issues with other roms and you in fact did full wipe then I'd say that this looks like a hardware problem.

I have seen something similar on a i9100 before - the cause there was a damaged EFS partition - you should check if the info under About device -> Status is still correct (at least the MAC address under WiFi and the IMEI). That being said there are many other possible problems, including a hardware problem with the internal WiFi adapter

Yes, I've tried those already but to no avail. If it is a hardware problem, how much will it cost me to fix my wifi? I have lost my proof of purchase so I can't claim my warranty.

I have no idea, take your phone to any repair center and tell them to take a look. I'd say that this is in fact hardware problem, maybe your wi-fi adapter is broken or something like that.
Also if you don't have any warranty then it's the only way to get it fixed I suppose.

What could have triggered this? It is still in good shape until afternoon yesterday.
Yeah I guess I'll take it to the repair center but too bad I'll have to wait till weekend because I do have work.

Just in case, ensure you reset the counter and flash the stock ROM before taking it to the service centre!

Android causing packet storm , keeps Diconnecting

Hello Guys , I hope someone helps me over here ....
* The Catlog containing logs and My device full info and the Pictures are attached to the Post*
(galaxy J7 stock rom) So , two weeks ago while I was using my Android device it started Connecting and Disconnecting my Home wifi Internet connection (I mean by that the wifi is always On but my device keeps disconnecting from the connection and connecting again and No it is not a smart switch issue or battery save issue as there is no other wifi connections except mine )
First thing I did of course , is to see if the problem is with my router but it's not , I tried other devices.
I Fully wiped the device but the problem still occured whenever I try to access the internet (As opening google ) and I haven't installed any apps yet , I never rooted my phone before but I just Rooted NOW with CF to Catlog what's happening , Using a firewall didn't help as the apps sending the packets are google apps which I need.
I noticed on my router that my device is sending THOUSANDS of Packets and has About 1000 Active TCP connections from ports used by google service such as Google account manager (I Used network connections app) , I will put screenshots of the connections down the post .
The only way to stop the disconnecting from occuring is to factory reset my router so I have a new client with clean connection UNTIL about hours of Usage my device starts sending them thousands of packets and my router keeps disconnecting me again(Don't blame the router they are A LOT ! JUST see the pictures below)
I have warranty but the providers suck over here in my country and the only thing they can do is either factory reset (Which I already did) or change hardware parts , If they factory reset they won't notice the problem as their Company Network is most likely capable to Take up thousands of active connections (most home routers won't ) and I can't just show them a CATLOG or they would know I rooted .
So If it is possible for an expert to read my logs and tell me if it is a software issue so I can fix it or If it's a hardware issue so I can convince them to fix it , and I would pay a fee if needed or At least direct me to someone who can help for a fee .
(Wouldn't let me to attach Catlog ZIP file so here's the link just Edit it to look like a google drive Link :
