Just wanted to know if anyone tried this tool on the Evo 3D.
I too would like to know, downloading now.
Edit: Or not due to the download link is broken
+1
Very cool, keep us posted!
So, I downloaded it. And I'm trying to configure the template to work with the 3VO. But my C# knowledge is a little lacking. I'll still try plugging away at it but if someone with a little more knowledge could post some better directions than the creator. Not to mention, once a template is created it should work for all 3VOs, we could just post it here so no one else has to go through this.

did not want to post this in development because i learned some C long ago and i do not remember much, but maybe you should post there and ask for help.
Well. I'm pretty sure I got the template worked out correctly. And I just reread the OP from the creator and just realized that the program doesn't work yet. He pushed the whole thing out so we could mess with creating the templates, but the program wont work until tonight-ish. So I guess we wait and see.

Ok. thank you.
OK. I have constructed a template for anyone that used the JuopunutBear S-OFF. BUT! My SD card is undergoing a midlife crisis and ran off to Bermuda (either that or it just stopped working). So I could email the template to anyone who wants to test it. I HAVE NOT TESTED IT. But I am 99.99% sure everything will be fine. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. So if you would like to try it out PM me with your email and I will send it. You will need to download the full release program from here in order to create the zip that will customize/stockify your hboot screen.
P.S. Sorry it took so long, stuff came up. And also if you used the REVOLUTIONARY S-OFF then i can't help you because I know nothing about it. But if someone can tell me if it uses the stock hboot.img than I can build a template. If you used another S-OFF technique, just tell me what hboot.img it uses and I should be able to create a working template.

Hi there,
the first screen I see when I boot my PPC up is a nice picture of a mental looking Joker, with all my OS versions and other numbers at the top.
I picked this little gem up when I installed a Joker, first stage update when ROM upgrading, it was fun for a while but now the joke is wearing a bit thin.
Does anyone know how to change this first bootup image? as I've created my own which I'd like to use much more, a search around my PPC and these forums didn't turn up much, so any help would be peachy.
Thanks all
check that, but you'll need to use a prophet flash utility at last.
sweet mamma jamma, thats a long list of instructions to ditch the clown. I think it'll be a weekend job that'un
there are pre-made ones floating around. u can always get those.
thanks for the heads up, I'll see if I can drop my own graphics into another distribution.
Other solution...
... would be to use the HTC black bootscreen that Jesterz is kind enough to provide for people just like you! (and me) Just take a look at post #3 here:

That brings my to this point.
I normally flash my Prophet with my Vista laptop. There is only an official RUU that does the job, all slim and tweaked STEP1's fail. It's no problem, but this working RUU installs not so nice splash screens, and I do have nice ones in stock! But the RUU's they use are failing to. So, with my "I only have a laptop with Vista" situation, I'm stuck with not so nice splashscreens.
Does anyone knows a simple, nifty utility that can open nk.nbf files, so I can exchange the splash.nb and that wrap it up again?
I tried this with Hypercore Kitchen, but that suite doesn't work with Vista either, all the files location are different and therefore the batch files don't work as expected.
Anyway, a long story for such a minor issue. It is just a matter of restarting with my eyes closed, or even better, no restarts at all!
For the vista thing, the better (and simpliest) is to do it from another xp-based computer, since you won't do it every morning.
For creation purpose, check that.

Thanks! I sort of found such a tool already, but this one brings me to more resources.
About the Vista thing: you're absolutly right, but I'm just curious if I could get this issue solved, like an experiment. The only thing is I don't find the tools to do so!
I'm trying to get XP on a second bootpartition, so I can dual boot to the OS of my liking. This way at least the practical stuff can be done, and I expect Hypercore to work properly. Think that brings me a bit closer...
Ok guys so with a ton of reading and researching here's a little thing I was trying to figure out for awhile and finally did it so Im going to share a little guide. Now non of this is mine, I just follow instructions well
With all the Gingerbread talk/themes I haven't seen anyone here theme the stock MT4G Swype. I'm on CM7 Nightlies but I believe it should also work with stock MT4G sense since I pulled it from there.
Now before we begin I take no responsibility if this bricks your phone or make it burst in flames. This guide does need a know how to adb and have jdk and jre installed properly to sign the apk.
First we need the stock swype:
-I followed this guide from Marine6680
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=959192&highlight=swype
Now we need the Gingerbread Theme for Swype:
-I got the files from Marurban
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=930306
-The file we need is the 2.6 v0.3 WVGA without Mic
Marurban's guide was kinda confusing and that was where I was having a little trouble. So then I found stone_ship's guide and helped me a lot.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=955721
I simply copied just all the keyboard pngs and left glow and wcw png stock. I still need to learn how to change the font color on the popup
After you have signed your themed swype.apk use Marine6680's guide to install it back to your phone. If your having trouble with this I will try with the best of my ability to help but no promises Enjoy!
Also Please thank Marine6600, Marurban and stone_ship for their guides to make this possible.
FYI, you do relize that if you are just replacing the images as you did, that it can be done in about 10 seconds using 7zip. You dont need to resign the zip, no Apk Manager or anything like that. And this isnt really a "Guide" but just a post with links to guides from other people. If you would like a "Guide on image replacement using 7zip" I will be happy to help.

Did you even read the OP? It clearly says he didn't do anything as he took it from other peoples stuff, it even has name of the people on it. I guess he just found it confusing from original doc so he wrote his own but IDK why he posted here.

No I didnt read the OP, I just posted blindly. WTF kind of stupid comment is that?
When someone makes a thread with "Guide Theme" in the title, I kinda EXPECT A GUIDE. Not links to guides. Second I am in no way trying to flame this guy (like you tried to do to me) but let him know that there is much easier ways to achieve what he has done. I also even offered to help him make a simple GUIDE for doing this.
And whats up with your post? And I quote:

He wrote his own what? GUIDE?
My point with that is it is easy to pick apart someones post huh.
I mean, I dont even know why you posted in this thread. Your comment added absolutly no help to the thread and only tried to flame me.
I will now end this rant before I say something I shouldnt
And your comment added so much help, maybe you should write another EZ guide for it. No one flamed you as you simply try to bash the guy without clearly comprehending what he did. No one cares what you expected thats like you claiming to write guides from using other peoples and not giving them credit for it.
Whoa... Sorry for this guys all I wanted to do was share what I found out myself cause I wanted to theme my swype to gingerbread and didn't know how. So instead of asking I just read up and searched and didn't come up with anything simple. My bad for thinking it might help people.
Mod can you lock or delete this please

Don't worry about it the guy is a troll and thief its just funny as he steal other peoples stuff then claim he writes them but when you did something and even properly named people where you got it from he try to bash you. As I said "I guess he just found it confusing from original doc so he wrote his own but IDK why he posted here." You don't need to apologize you did what you thought would help others in good intention, that is what matters regardless of the trolling from hypocrites. We are here to help others.

First let me apologize for your mucking up your thread. My original post was only meant to offer help to you and somehow it has turned into this.
There is no reason to lock or delete this thread, you did nothing wrong. As a matter of fact you did a great job of researching and figuring out how to do what you wanted to do. I was only offering help to make this more of a guide for what you did and help show you a easier way of achieving it, so you could in turn help people easier. Setting up APK manager and the other things you metioned can be time consuming, especially if you aren't familiar with how to do it.

No problem lets just start a new and please tell me how an easier way can be done. cause all the things I've read about theming swype was thru either metamorph (I'm still reading up on how to make one) and thru Ninjamorph which force closes on my swype. I never ran into 7zip like you mentioned. I usually just read and try to figure things out myself so please do explain
Im always up to new challenges and now knowing how apk manager sorta works I can deep dive on what I might or might not be capable of doing. its really an interesting program
It'd be nice to have something like this for the current beta version. I can't give up my voice-input button. No way.

Well you can still do it, just use the guide and download Marurban's gingerbread theme with the mic on it.
Seems like I missed the party...any how...what's the easiest way to get gingerbread Swype? I don't have my stock mt4g Swype anymore ...hehe!

Now I am not sure if this is the place to ask or not, but since RG has been dead for sometime now I thought it would be okay to at least ask.
Me and a friend of mine were thinking about trying to recreate a program just like it, now I know it will never make it on the market but still a lot of people want something that was a simple click and get rom system.
Now I am not sure how they did this, were the roms all on a dedicated server somewhere (which would be a bit pricey) or was it coded to just grab from websites directly without making you link to them first. That's why I was hoping someone had the apk or source so we can study it, or even someone who can just break down the best way to go about doing this?
Well some progress has been made now, also we have found a server we can afford to host all the roms. So this maybe going from just an idea into something more, still need to write an app from the ground up and get a backend going.
I have an old TiBu backup of the program. It's from when I had my old phone, an HTC Aria. The latest backup is July 29th this year. If you'd like it just PM me. I'll restore it to my new phone and send the apk to you.

I had rooted my Nook Color and then was running CM7 off the SD card. Eventually, the screen had issues, so I returned it (still under warranty) and got the Nook Tablet. I'm pretty much liking it stock, but would like to root it. (Ideally, I'd like to run an OS off the SD card again, but I understand that's not available yet.) I'm a little lost with all the different threads and links floating around. I want to be sure I'm using the latest, and most problem-free, method.
Can someone point me to the latest, and easiest, rooting link? Indirect's, yes?
Thanks, Lori

use indirect's root if you still want to keep the B&N experience (apps, books, etc)
use snowball mod if you want an almost pure android tablet (B&N is basically removed)
i like snowball mod cause i don't really use B&N services and it gets rid of bloatware which is always nice...

I don't like to hold hands for anyone. Yes we were all new to things but before you jump in the water you should learn how to swim. People get on these forums, see root files and jump in and when they are drowning or have drowned expect to get a quick fix which isn't fair to those who do their homework and research...just saying. If I'm posting from my phone or tablet, I don't go out of my way to provide links; hence the reason I say search.
If I post asking a question it's after I did all my homework and once I don't locate, I'll ask because no one knows all the anwers.
man, sometime i think it is more effort for us to copy and past a link than it is for noobs to just take the initiative to read... ><; Not to take it out on this one poster, but i have seen many people post a question like "hey everyone I am new, update me on whats going on"... instead of just reading.
First, let me say, "Thank you," for your video, which was very helpful.
In response to what you wrote, I do read. I read quite a bit. Perhaps you've forgotten what it's like to learn something in a language you don't speak. When you're new to this stuff, every single thing you read contains something you don't understand. And you look things up and look things up, until you've got 20 windows open on different topics, in the hope that you can piece it all together, and remember what you were looking up in the first place. If I've spent more than 45 minutes merely trying to "find" the information I need, which is no small task with a search feature that doesn't let you search phrases, and another couple of hours sifting through the confusing information, I don't think it's a stretch to then turn to those in the know, on a newbie forum, for help.
Again, I appreciate very much what you guys (and girls) do. But you post it up here for people to use.
I don't know about other newbies, but sometimes I feel like I'm going to be flogged if I don't word things the right way or perform the prerequisite quantity of searching beforehand. I do my best.
Again, thanks to those of you who have helped me out.

I'm posting from my phone and providing a link would be a LOT of work, so excuse my lack of linking.
There was a new method posted up that allows you to keep root and update to 1.4.1. The problem is that 1.4.1 will not allow sideloading from the browser, and the author doesn't hold your hand through the whole process. Its nowhere near as nooblet friendly as Indirects root method.
The learning curve is STEEP, some of us are still working on it. The faq sticky is AWESOME and has a ton of link to helpful stuff, incuding my own ADB guide.
Thanks for the new info!

Though I feel I become reliant on these tools too much... sometimes I do it all manually just to refresh the skills.
I Totally Agree With Doing Things Manual At Times. I Made This More For The New Guys Who Aren't Really Sure About All That Code. They Can Use This To Be Rest Assured Things Will Go Well. While Still Able To Learn About Android.
Figures after I spend 8 hours figuring out how to do everything this comes out. Nice work! It was kinda cool learning how to use the cmd code though.

Agreed. The hardest part was understanding what the directions ment not knowing anything about using adb. Same here. Will keep messing around with it a bit.
Now I can go into the next step, option2, which seems to be somewhat of a repeat option 1. Thinking maybe option one kicks off the process of the htcdev and then option 2 is when business begins since it wants the device hooked up and ready for action. Will hold off for verification just to be sure.
I appreciate the work OP.
