Is there a zipped, rooted, Rogers stock ROM floating around? I tried searching but I couldn't find one.
I'm on CM10, but a little nervous about flashing back to stock using Odin as some people are reporting losing their imei.

so ive been reading and looking around a lot, eventually decided to go with the overcome experience and everything is running great, xcept for the ebooks app not working on it for the 3G rogers tab
but what ive been trying to find now is the stock Rogers kernel and recovery files in case something does go wrong with the tab and i need to get it back to stock to submit it back for warranty work
the best ive been able to find is this...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1405324
which is a stock 3.2, and in the thread people are claiming that it is a Rogers version and has the unnecessary Rogers apps on it
i downloaded it and tried it out, and its not a stock Rogers version, doesn't come with the Rogers apps, and when plugged in to Kies it states its not a version that supports updates through Kies, therefore it definetly isn't a stock Rogers version
Just wondering if anyone knows where i can get the files to be able to get my Tab back to Rogers stock version in case something does happen, or do these files simply not exist and since i already flashed over them it's too late to ever go back to stock?
Thanks
That RUXKK2 is exactly the rom I have right now on my Rogers Tab.
I simply assume it has to be flashed through Odin only;
Kies is for "legit" updates only (and sync) ; it is not a dev nor a recovery tool. Maybe it stated updates were not supported because you are rooted.
Doesnt matter anyway; you will receive updates through Samsung Updates anyway directly on your tablet; you'll simply loose root.
i did use odin to flash that stock rom, and no i wasn't rooted, as the rom itself doesn't come with root by default
all i did was flash with odin, it rebooted, then i completed a factory reset/wipe
and then plugged it in to Kies to see if it was in fact a retail stock version and could get the updates through Kies
i dont really care for updating through Kies as im perfectly happy with overcome mod atm, but i would like to have all the stock rogers files (recovery, kernel and rom or w/e else i need) just in case i ever need to revert back to stock to bring the tablet in for warranty issues
the RUXKK2 rom may be stock, but it definitely doesn't include the stock rogers kernel version
any ideas where those could be found? or if it could be extracted from a nandroid backup? i completed a nandroid backup of my stock device before i flashed overcome
Flashing your Nandroid will get you back to stock no? Thats the purpose of it I thought to get you back to your previous state in case something goes wrong. Nandroid backups are flashed through CWM though not Odin, under Backup and restore options.
Nandroid does not backup the kernel.

Sent from my GT-P7500 using XDA App
yea, nandroid doesnt back up everything :/
i think the stock kernel and stock recovery files to flash through odin is what would be needed, and judging by the replies im getting i don't think those exist out there for the rogers tablet :/
i even checked http://www.samfirmware.com and couldn't really find a rogers or Canadian version, but sure did find ppl on the forums asking about it
if any1 knows how to maybe get those files off a stock tablet, i do have a 2nd GT 10.1 Rogers that has not been changed or modded in any way that i could attempt to extract the kernel and recovery file from if i knew how
I also am looking for a stock rogers rom. I currently run overcome with no issues, but should I need work done under warranty, I need to flash back to stock before I send it in. The link above was what I also found during a forum search, which kies does NOT recognize. Has anyone been able to find or extract the stock rom that comes with a Rogers 10.1 out of the box?
Ooops mistaken threads..
I have the new radio because I flashed the Tmo Stock ICS leak. I am still S-On and using 4eXt Recovery and rooted. Everything was working great so I made a backup. I then flashed Revolutionized-Senseless ICS Rom and that also worked great so I also made a backup.
I've decided i prefer Sense UI 3.6 so I tried restoring my Stock backup nut somehow cannot. My question is...is there a zip file I can flash through recovery that would give me back Stock Tmo ICS without having to go through flashing the leaked ph85img.zip, then flashing a recovery, then rooting it and then setup.
MD5 checked on the Stock backup but would still not flash. Any help would be appreciated.
My guess is, and I havent dug into this, that Revolutionized changed the radio or some other basic architecture that the stock ics needs. Im guessing youre going to have to flash PH85IMG.zip. Once you have that flashed and rooted, you should be able to flash back to your other stock backup so you have all your apps and stuff installed again.
Perhaps if you could offer more specifics on why you cant flash back to your stock backup such as error messages or what happens when you try to flash it?
Hello,
i've reading a lot about all methods of flashing kernels via Odin and flashing new ROM's. I've my N7 rooted and running custom ROM and experienced several ROMs and kernels with my old Galaxy Ace.
Saying this. I've been searching around about ways of backing up the exact image of my stock ROM with operator logos at the beginning and everything like it came from factory since I would not be able to turn it back to warranty service if it doesn't run original stock ROM, which is not in the net -i've searched and have found nothing-.
If I flash let's say: Siyah kernel to avoid risk of bricking from 4.0.4 then root and create a nandroid backup image and then after running some ROMs I decide to run back to nandroid backup, the kernel that I would have had it would be siyah kernel with operator firmware, right?
Any idea, hint or advice would be strongly appreciated.

If you want to return to a stock rom, just flash it with Odin (roms are on www.sammobile.com and also here on xda). There are also ways to reset your flash counter. That would be all.
To answer your question: if you root your device with Siyah and you make a Nandroid back up, yes, your device will be running the stock rom with the Siyah kernel if you restore this after trying other roms/kernels.

Thanks for your reply, but in Samfirmware the firmware for my mobile company it's not uploaded so I would not be able to run back to original kernel. That's why I need to know if there's a way to backup the kernel or not losing in order to get cwm.
Cheers
I have found what it looks to be a free stock rom for my country running the same kernel than my mobile company kernel. Is it a way to just install the kernel from the file that samfirmware.com provides? My plan is to run the nandroid backup with my original stock rom with custom kernel <whatever name> then just flash the original kernel taken from the stock rom provided by samfirmware.com .
First, sorry if this is the wrong place, etc.
Here's what I got. I have 2 identical s3's. They are the Ntelos version, sch-r530x. One is rooted, custom recovery, and is flashed to hyperdrive verizon rom. Most of it works fine, but there are certain bugs and I need full function back.
The other device is completely stock and received an OTA update to 4.3 the other day.
I need to extract the stock 4.3 and flash it to the rooted phone to get back to a stock version and get back the functions that wont work. My phone being ntelos and the current rom being for verizon has caused quite a few issues that didnt immediately make themselves known. So I just want to be rid of the custom rom.
Now here is where I am finding a problem. My phone is sch-r530x. The verizon rom has it thinking it is an sch-i535. So when I try standard methods, like using KIES, the phone wont be recognized.
I am thinking the best option is to extract the stock rom from the completely stock device and flash it, via odin or cwm recovery, onto the rooted device. I realize I may have to root the stock device to do this, which is fine, I found a method that works for this model, the trouble only began when I flashed the hyperdrive rom (because someone else had reported good compatability....LIES).
ANY HELP HERE IS APPRECIATED!!!
Also, the reason I need to extract the stock rom from the stock device is because being a regional carrier, the ntelos rom is NOWHERE to be found online. Nobody has heard of them from what I have found, and my last 3 phones through them I have basically had to create my own root methods by piecing together bits from tutorials for other models. I have a good track record, and was able to pull it off again with this model, but I screwed up when I flashed this custom rom for the wrong model number, now nothing works quite like it should.
PLEASE HELP
Wrong forum, read the very first thread about US phones.
My stock nandroid backup is inaccessible on a laptop very far awaybfor the next few months. I may need to restore my phone back to stock here soon, and am having a hell of a hard time finding any stock ROMs or images.
I've tried flashing a stock G900T ROM, but it would just go straight to TWRP on boot
I see the firmware sammobile database page. Does something similar exist for stock ROMs?
I'm on the GPI1 firmware now, and am fine with flashing to something else if need be
sammobile have it, I installed it a few weeks ago.

This is the Stock ROM for the T3, with modems and bootloader:
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G900T3/
Use ODIN to flash.
Then flash TWRP, and SuperSU.

Your best and reliable option is Sammobile.

I have all the SM-G900T, SM-G900T1, and SM-G900T3 firmware files from sammobile on my android file host. SM-G900T3 stock firmwares: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=48853 (the one ending in GPK3 is the most recent
