I'm a music producer and Android loVA and I have suggestions 4 those like me.until Flstudio mobile gets ported the only hope we have is a little app called caustic
(get it from the market it's free)
If you haven't seen this thing move out of ur cave it's sweet as hell.
I personally use a few apps to make music:
tapemachine-sampler
Electrum drum machine-isn't it obvious
Caustic-sequencer/synth
All of these apps are very interoperable on a 1GHz chip or better although memory may be a factor as well.
I need a decent sample editor (not recorder)
That will enable me to "chop" up mp3 songs (ringdroid is a fluky alternative)
Maybe even a kontakt/fruity slicer-esque utility would do.once again these are suggestions any dev's reading please take it as consumer thoughts and opinions. Seeing that iOS caters more to the mobile musicians than Android I feel that this fact should brought into the light
Check out my Droid anthem.. http://snd.sc/ju3mAU ..I made it on my OG4G
Please share the song amongst our fellow nerds.
Feel free to post ur suggestions as well

Just got SPC Music sketchpad and it has some kind of openSL audio interface that reduces L8-n-c and overall this is showing the progress bein made on the android platform. It can also sample and slice loops. This ****s on every music app out there with the exception if caustic. I'll be making music on my phone until I get another hard drive cuz my current one is acting fluky.
Or you can say "oh-gee!!!4G" how about "oji foji" for the Japanese variant (htc evo4g+)

Sounds interesting seeing I'm a DJ. And I tried to get your song but the link seems to be down :/

Lol ''I'm an Android.'' Pretty sweet.
I need an app that can record the speaker but in the mean time a you tube downloaded would fulfill some needs but it's numerous ways to download songs for sample material

Maybe we should start at thread for musicians only

Hi, niko twenty here.
Actually I do have an app for chopping MP3's, it's called "Sonic Chop Sample Ripper"...it doesn't do a bunch of fancy stuff yet right now but it will chop and get the BPM's for you.

Niko you are the man. I'm buying this. And I use ur app Reloop as a miniDAW. As a customer I think it should be marketed as that. I know that latency is a pain so asking for a record button on each track is far fetched I guess?

Anyone see the commercial where he takes the Christmas pic in burst mode and edits all the faces so they are smiling? That's a badass feature I must say, do we have that capability with our camera without a third party app? I'm in phone sales and I push EVO sales when customers come in for a phone and I let them play with my phone thus why I keep it stock but with root. But I can see it now someone comes in and says can this phone do that and I'm like uhhhh idk lol

I've been challenging and being challenged to Wrestle Jump literally everyday and starting to use my phone for that more than anything else. It just works so well on this screen and the game play is so simple that literally anyone and try it and dominate.
This kinda lead me to wonder what other people are going to as their main app that they use everyday. Maybe not so much addicted to, but just your one app that you go to for entertainment each day.

I use SiriusXM on my phone every day. The on demand service is pretty darn good. I am totally addicted to it and would be very pissed off if I didn't have it. :highfive:
My addition is SanGuoSha (HD). this is based on Chinese story "Three Kingdoms" and it has the capability of playing both online or offline. It has great AI strategy when you play with the phone and the graphics etc are top notch!
Being in NYC, you don't have cell coverage quite often, in this self-claimed best city of the world. Especially in the subways, yet we still call other countries or cities (Shang Hai) emerging market, when infrastructure like cell signal and data there is literally everywhere. Anyways, when no signal, SanGuoSha is very fun game to have.
sorry for the cynical comments, that is uncalled for.

I use that as well and really enjoy it. Also I use Google Music with All Access all the time.
For me it's finding Xposed mods and Google All Access music. I loveeeeeeee all access. O and also battery stats plus, been trying to figure out why my battery life seems to suck.
When ive got nothing to do for a while, I play DroidRider. Kind of like LineRider that I used to play back in the day. With the SPen, it makes things so much easier.

I use stumbleupon all the time. Great time waster. Basically, you tell it what kind of sites you like, and it will give you random pages based on that. I also use reddit is fun, hill climber, and zen pinball.
Three apps that I use multiple times every single day are Pocketcast, Feedly, and Reddit News.

Tapatalk for xda/andcentral, and MiMi, a 4chan browser. Rules 1 and 2 apply. Also, Flipboard. LOVE Flipboard, especially the tech, science, and 500px streams.
That's really it. I'm kind of a one pump chump on apps. I download tons and only end up using them once or twice, get bored, delete, rinse and repeat.
The only game I find myself often playing, and always have installed is Zen Pinball with about 12 purchased tables for variety. However, I definitely suggest Spirit XHD, superb with the S-Pen, and Super Hexagon. The latter is extremely difficult but very addicting and super simple to play.

One thing I have noticed is that my phone seems to be spying on my activities.
My phone knows where I work and when I work and get off. It tells me my commute time and etc. One time it told me when/where my girlfriend works when I was taking her on the regular. I checked National games for the sake of metro and its the phone has started to give me MLB game times and scores. I had a time when my phone gave me an alert to attend a cookout from my car insurance company. It had emailed me this weeks in advanced. I also get advertisements for games I have looked at that pop up.
Is the Android/Google taking it too far by monitoring your activities?
It's called Google Now. Good news? It's working as it's supposed to. Disable it if you're paranoid.

I don't really get what the problem is. It isn't like it's harming you, if anything, it is making your life easier.
Google goes through tons of security and they've even said that the only thing that sees the information is their algorithms. I mean, when's the last time you've heard about Google being hacked?
But like WolfePack said, you can always disable it.

aside from google now if you're getting pop up advertisements for games, or notifications that advertise things, it's because you have a ****ty adware app that you need to block or uninstall.

Welcome to the age of data mining. You can turn off location services under settings. Also turn off report usage or anything worded like that in the apps you use.

As many of you may already have heard, the new Google Maps update integrates the blue triangle navigation app into Google maps. These seems fine, until you realize whatever navigation they are using is not the same as before. It isn't birds eye view anymore. It's come crap apple like not turn by turn thing. No longer any options for avoiding highways and tollway, no more customization, and I can't find the so called multi route thing they supposedly added. Google navigation was practically flawless, why did they kill it off? Somebody please tell me

I've been using Scout for months now. You can choose different routes and the map rotates when you make turns.
Ditto for me, Scout is pretty nice

It's freaking weird... All tech websites talk about is how wonderful the new updates are. What updates? The navigation app has DECREASED functionality, how come nobody is reporting on this?

My guess is that they are preparing to release a paid navigation app that has all of the bells and whistles of the previous version. There is no other plausible reason for this.

My mohter is technologically challenged and she is very upset about this. You know how long it took her to learn Google Nav? LONG! Both her and my stepdad where like "where is the blue triangle thingie" and I was like what do you mean, and oh surprise it was gone. They are the ones who brought to my attention as I have not been using GPS lately.

Scout is a good one, I prefer Waze over Google nav anyways.. Waze is a social navigation which gives you updated information on traffic conditions by monitoring other users. And you get turn by turn, along with warnings about traffic hazards (including police and speed traps)
Is there for me. .. went into maps typed address clicked the car on next page triangle was there.

A lot of the functionality is still there, including the bird's eye view...it's just hidden 4 or 5 steps deep. The big problem is that it's not at all intuitive like the separate Navigation app was. So tech challenged folks can easily get sidetracked by something as simple as getting it to start navigating. It's kind of like when Microsoft decided to start updating MS Office. They tried so hard to make it more "MAC" like that none of the controls made any sense, not just in the naming of the tool or the icons, but also where they were located. Office 2003 to Office 2007 was just stupid. This is what Google did with their navigation app, trying to make it more iphone like.
So what's next? How about a separate paid app that makes navigation simple to use? That could be the direction that they are going. Either that, or they just hired the wrong designers.... probably ex Apple employees

This navigation thing happened to all carriers. You really think Sprint really had any say in it? I enjoy vilifying Sprint as much as the next guy, but in this case I think it was all Google.
