ok the update took more then 5 hours. after that the led was blinking red. after reloading the battery i still got android 1.6
i'm not recommend to update with the flash tool seems not work reliable.
thx anyway to the team
Tool works just fine.
9 out of 10 user error is the cause of updates failing.
Retry and see if you don't get an audio cue indicating the flashdrive disconnected, that's what happened when I flashed my mini pro.
If at first you don't succeed...
yes i got the audio signal after flashing this means it failed?
and why took it more then 5 hours is there any clue?
Ur totally wrong dude, works a dream. Already used it a number of times to flash 1.6 and 2.1 so id say u have missed a instruction
Probably either u didnt get latest ftool or u av mounted the usb which shud be left UNMOUNTED

nope! that was my mistake :| sorry for blaming
i have chosen x10....
shame on me...
after using the flash tool correctly everything worked perferct...
thx to the team!
often biggest mistake is in front of the monitor...
Dont worry, its not only on your misstake. I had the same problem with the right select U20. After 5 hrs, the akku was empty and there was still 1.6 on my device.

Problem - always boots to fastboot menu

Hey guys I got another legend but have a problem when I turn it on it always goes to the fastboot menu - sometimes the keys work and I can get to the stock recovery but then I'm stuck. Anybody knows what might be the problem and if its fixable?
Thanks

not to high jack this thread . but i had the same problem .
and now after a recovery ( finally ) the phone isnt working very well . the hard keys work then then suddenly they dont .
damn . i need a new phone
After 2 hours of phone being on....
My Thunderbolt booted to the recovery menu only. I tried recovery, it went throught the gyration and back to the recovery menu again. I tried all the other options too and still the same recovery menu.
There was some direct sunlight for a couple of hours but not really intense heat, and when I pulled the back off there was some condensation around the camera lens. I'm wondering if this would've caused it.
I had to get order a new phone (insured) because VZW couldn't do anything about it either. This issue was similar to mine, so I didn't start a new thread.
Any ideas?
If I do a compleat format of rom space ie system, data, cache, my phone will only boot to fast menu, perhaps your phone's rom space has been wiped, another possibility is bad sectors/bad blocks on the storage space have developed at the begining of the boot sector? please excuse my winblows terminology maybe that should be called mount points not boot sector.

Formating system through the CWM - HELP!

how stupid am i ?
don't really know how bad is it, but now when i charge the phone while of i see no bat.
thank you, i'm a bit panic.
Try reflash the ROM in cwm, no wipe.
Or restore a previous nandroid backup with cwm.
After wiping efs, do you still have connection to your carrier ,and have imei number?

My phone says serial number 'unknown', not sure of ever had, but is fine.
Think you should be OK with GPS etc, just try it, preferably with a clear view of the sky.
If what you mean by the '!' Being a 'warning triangle'? If so, to remove:
Gingerbread : Power off and insert Samsung USB jig
ICS : Reset with https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.triangleaway
The warning triangle and flash counter won't hurt anything , but will be evidence to void warranty. These methods reset and remove.

[Q]Htc Explorer Recovery Mode Not Working.

THE STORY:
I was having some problems with my htc explorer software so i gave it to my brothers friend who knows this stuff. So a month passed and he kept
telling me he hadnt gotten to it due to his busy schedule and what not. So after one and a half month later he says that its a hardware problem
and hands me the mobile phone. Now i cant get in touch with this guy.
I went to the htc shop today to get things fixed , they said it is a third party software problem and you have to get this problem sorted from
the person who caused it * ( I know right such #$#$ers those htc guys). So i have to sort this out my self as i dont want to hand my
phone to those local phone repair guys ( I have had bad experience with them ).
THE PROBLEM:
The phone is in boot loop ( I open the phone and its stuck on htc logo ) . On top of that the recovery mode isnt opening as well , it is showing
a constant black screen when i open it. ( Here is a youtube video that i uploaded ).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJw5oajodBA
I have searched through the web and the only thing that i have found is this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1725398
Which is apparently for WILDFIRE S
The thing is that i am a totaly noob at this android stuff so i am very hesitant at trying something that is for wildfire on my explorer.
I would really appreciate help on this.

hey bro i am a htc wildfire s owner.. n i can help you..
see first of all go to bootloader
for that you will have to do this
1) remove the battery
2) wait for 2 sec
3) re insert it
4) press n hold volume down button n then press n hold power button(dont leave the volume button while pressing power button) keep holding both of the buttons untill you see a white screen(you are in bootloader menu now)
now wait untill it checks for some files.. when done you will see options like fastboot, reboot, etc etc.. there would be a option "factory reset"
scroll to with with volume buttons(volume down button means to scroll down n volume up button means scroll up) n then go to factory reset .. press power button to select it.. see if this works.. if it doesnt then reply..
Thanks for your reply , i failed to mention that my phone was already rooted and was perfectly working before i started getting the software problems.
So isnt it a bad idea to factory reset a rooted phone?

ohhk.. when you would have a working recovery you would prefer doing a factory reset ie the wipe data right?? but you telling that recoverry isnt working... so now there are two ways to wipe data..
1) the way i mentioned above
2) adb commands (it may not work while in bootloop.. you need a working ROM to use this)
Can you tell me more about those adb commands?

for using adb commands you will need the sdk
the command that you can run from adb is
Code:
adb shell
recovery--wipe_data
n the command that you can run from fastboot menu ie the bootloader
Code:
fastboot erase system
the fastboot comand MAY work.. but factory reset is preferable option
Try installing recovery again via adb

As far as i can see, you are able to get to the bootloader, right?
just do a factory reset, if u havent, ROOT WONT GO AWAY..
also, confirm that fastboot is working, that is the final hope to get ur pico up again...

When ever i connect usb it fastboot changes to fastboot usb . Further than that i do not know the process of confirming whether the fastboot is working or not.

If you've rooted it,why don't you flash that recovery.bat again as posted in the rooting tutorial
..
Then after going to recovery, you may flash CYANOGEN or jaggy ROM.

I have flashed it multiple times but to no avail
hey bro .. see first off all before flashing ny thing new what you want to do now is go to hboot mode n just factory reset n just see what rom is on your device.. first make it BOOT which ever OS(ie stock or custom rom) is in the cell now..
for that you need to clear data.. just USE FACTORY RESET..
if it doesnt work then i guess you will have to S-OFF your device (idk how with a software but you can do it with XTC-CLIP ) or do it from a mobile retailer..
Your aims:-
wipe everything... (learn ADB and fastboot commands)
get to recovery
format every partiton except sd and boot
mount partitions
flash a rom
Better try to install the recovery again

After googling the hell out of the web i still couldnt find any fix for the problem.
Fortunately today i found teamwin recovery v2.2.2.1 and miraculously it booted into recovery.
So in recovery i wiped the cache , the delvik-cache. And then installed jaggyrom . Rebooted.... the htc logo showed for about half a minute then blackscreen. So i tried tried getting back to recovery and again same problem...
I reinstalled the recovery and fortunately i was able to get into it.
I cleared the cache,data,delvic-cache,system and then installed

Miui rom. But again when booting into the system the htc logo showed for half a minute and then black screen again.
What am i doing wrong?

Looks like you will need to restock with SP Flash Tools. Check out the guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2517093 for more info. I'm not familiar with this particular device, so make sure that that stock system supports your particular model and configuration as many phones like this come with different RAM or NAND sizes so you wanna make sure everything matches up to avoid making things worse.

Dear sir I flashed my phone with stock rom dozen tiems using sp flash tool. But when phone starts it hangs on boot logo I also install clockwork mode it shows erroe emmc not found also data, cache not found. It was unable to mount external and internal sd card. During memory test it shows
ERROR: NAND Flash was not detected!
I dont have any backup.md5 image to restore data or using MTKDROID tool?
Is there any hope for me to repair it by myself or i should head to service centre!
Sounds like you messed up the partitions. If flashing the stock rom through SP Flash Tools doesn't fix it, not sure there is a whole lot more to do, but like I said, we don't have those kinds of phones here so not 100% on that. Maybe something like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2296230 would be able to reformat something to get things going, but part of the instructions involve starting an app while booted, but can't really see why that is important if you have to flash the new parts through the SP Flash Tool anyway... If nothing else, maybe try to get a hold of the developer of that mod as obviously he is fairly familiar with the layout of the phone and would probably have some other suggestions for your issues.

Thank u sir for this helpful information.I trird but it always stucked during downoad :crying: finally I take it to custmor care. They flashed suscessfully but in recovery mode it shows laying android nad red triangle error. Is this happen due to faulty hardware or software problem. They r telling me to change the motherboard (PCB) my warrnety expired two weeks before....what is the reason of this error?
So they flashed the correct original firmware to the device and it doesn't boot? Or it does boot but just curious as to why the recovery has the red triangle?
If they flashed the right thing and it still doesn't boot, then not likely anything short of sending it to the manufacturer would help. Trick is knowing whether they knew what they were doing or not.

Ohhh ok, well then all is well! That is pretty common with stock recoveries across many manufacturers. Often there is a combo of buttons to push when you are at that screen to get the reboot and reset options to show up. I'd try toggling volume keys in there, see what happens. If you need a custom recovery, then you should be able to flash one again now.
Stock backup + SP flash tool = problem solved
No. Actually my phone screen was broke which replaced by service centre.Just from that day all panic begins it drain a lot of battery so I threw it into bin
Sent from my XT1068 using XDA Free mobile app
Micromax service center personnel's are worst and dumb people
My A116 also had the same problem.
Used to heat a lot and hang and restart without any fixed pattern/reason.
I flashed the rom many times, changed the recovery, formatted all, wrote new IMEI's, used custom ROM Etc. But, the same problem was coming everytime.
So, I concluded there should be some hardware issue and gave it to the service center here in Old City, Pune.
After a couple of days the service person called me and told that "ur board needs to be replaced. Its damaged and will cost 80% of the price of the phone"
I brought my phone back and showed to local repair centers. The response was "sir we ll not touch ur board as its short by the authorized people. Else we would have repaired it"
These chinese service centers are useless. Its like a deadlock.
Chinese will say : sir aapne bahaar khulwaya ab warranty se gaya to paisa lagega
Outsiders: Sir aapne service center mein diya to aapne galat kiya.
My phone was better hanging than completely damaged. At least I was able to flash and use it intermediately.
